This Bunkhouse room is rusticly reminiscent of the room the horse grooms used for gathering together to clean tack or just shoot the breeze. It is separated from other Bunkhouse rooms by a thick wooden plank wall. The Grooms' Room accommodates two guests with two twin beds - a daybed and trundle. The mattresses are clean and sealed; you bring your own bedroll, sleeping bag, or bedding of your choice. Authentic Saltillo tile flooring - (look for the coyote prints!) - and electrical lights and outlets. The restroom at the end of the barn is shared with other Bunkhouse guests. It features a composting cartridge toilet, outdoor-style shower with hot water, and handwash sink with hot/cold water.

A Peaceful Getaway Close to

My family and I had such an amazing time here. It was only for one night, but it was exactly the reset we needed without having to travel far from home. The views are beautiful, the property is peaceful, and it was so nice to unplug and just enjoy being together. One of our favorite parts was spending time with Hannah the horse and Daisy the donkey. We wish we had known ahead of time that they love carrots because we definitely would have brought some! They seem to know exactly when visitors might have treats and would come right over to say hello. We’ll definitely be bringing carrots next time. The night sky was incredible. Once it got dark, the stars seemed endless, and sitting around the fire looking up at the sky was one of those simple moments that reminds you to slow down and appreciate life. The peaceful surroundings made it feel like we were much farther away than we actually were. The bathroom was clean and worked well for our stay. We didn’t use the shower, but it was available if needed. There was a refrigerator for guests, which could use a little cleaning, but all of our food was in sealed containers, so it wasn’t an issue for us. Overall, we loved exploring the property, relaxing by the fire, enjoying the animals, and taking in the beautiful scenery. Nancy has created a special place, and we are already talking about coming back. Next time we’ll be sure to bring carrots for Hannah and Daisy! ❤️🐴🫏✨🌙🔥

It was a very idyllic, rustic ranch. Far from the highway, animals to spend time with, basic necessities (bathroom, shower). It's hard to get to, but that could be great depending on what you're looking for.

We loved tent camping on Nancy’s property. Nancy herself is such an accommodating host and a lovely person. The property was filled with personal touches and rustic charm, and of course we loved visiting with Hannah and Daisy May (horse and donkey). Our tent site was a nicely shaded area beneath a tree with a view of the animals grazing in the pasture. Bathroom with hot water was conveniently located. We would absolutely recommend staying here.

We enjoyed camping here for Memorial weekend, despite unseasonably cool weather with the marine layer evenings and mornings. Nancy met us at a nearby stop sign to make sure we found our way to her farmland and welcomed us warmly. We had the choice of two sand or a grass site and were able to grill our food on her BBQ since we brought our own propane tank (also required for the firepits at the two sand sites). We sat at the dining table under a shelter to eat since it was windy and chilly, but couldn't get the electric kettle to plug into its socket, although the fridge was working (albeit a little smelly). Our teenager enjoyed bonding with the horse and donkey, thanks to Nancy's suggestion to bring carrots to feed them. Definitely take up Nancy's suggestion to bring your own drinking water, as theirs is sulfurous smelling! We enjoyed having the flushable toilet and hand-washing sink in the semi open outhouse, but didn't try the shower as the weather was chilly. Good cell phone signal as you can see the towers on the hilltop, and lots of birds to watch. Close by to several nice dog-friendly hikes (e.g. San Juan de Anza), the San Juan mission and old town, Hollister (highly recommend Mad Pursuit brewery!) and Casa de Fruta.

Nancy is top notch. Super friendly and responsive. The ranch is a bit on the worn out side. The hot water tank wasn't working when we were there, and the fridge could use a deep cleaning. However, our dogs had the time of their lives. The horse (Hannah) and donkey (Daisy) are amazing. I absolutely loved the blooming jasmine growing over the building. We had a very relaxing weekend and plan to return.

Nancy was the highlight of the trip and so accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. She made me feel so welcome and she was lovely to talk to. Despite all the beautiful land on Nancy’s property, my pups decided to go on a little four hour “adventure” by sneaking under the gate. Nancy was SO helpful with contacting neighbors to be on the lookout and even helped drive around herself! Perhaps if you have opportunistic pups who like to explore every nook and cranny for a loophole, keep them on a long line! Luckily the stinkers came back once they got bored of freedom 🫠

Our entire family loved Nancy’s ranch. Our kid enjoyed the Daisy the Donkey and Hannah the Horse; our dogs chased endless squirrels for miles, and we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings in a quiet area. We will definitely be back.

Great stay at this lovely Hipcamp. Host (Nancy) met me nearby and guided me in which was helpful - it is up a rather obscure road. Very private, in fact was lucky enough to have the whole thing to myself. Even with another group there would have been plenty of room. Very clean bathroom and a fun, old West looking outside area. Will repeat!

A beautiful and very peaceful place, loved the outdoor kitchen and flush toilet complete with bidet! The very best part was the fully fenced property so my dog could be off leash the entire time. Hannah the horse and Daisy the donkey were the icing on the cake. Absolutely loved my stay here and would return in a heartbeat!

A wonderful ranch in a beautiful and serene setting. Nancy was fantastic from start to finish and we really enjoyed our stay. Highlights included: playing corn hole, a lovely walk, feeding the animals, using the bbq and sitting around the fire pit!

This was such an incredible camping experience! Nancy is a wonderful host, and the property has more than you could ask for. Our kids loved the pets, the neighbors, and the property. It felt super safe, so our kids ran free the entire time. We never used the shower, but the toilet was fantastic, super clean, and fully functional. It was so great to have a fridge and propane fire with a large grill. We had everything we could ask for, plus Nancy seemed to be there precisely when we needed her, but gave us our space and privacy otherwise. It was a magical experience for our group of 10. I couldn’t recommend it enough. You could stay on the property for a full weekend and never run out of things to do. Check out the nearby farm stands and say hi to the neighbors, because they are all really lovely.

My pups and I had a wonderful time! Nancy was so sweet and welcoming getting us settled in. The spot is comfortable and quiet with excellent amenities and plenty of space to spread out and relax. My pups ran around and had a great time chasing ground squirrels. They loved it so much I had to convince them to go to bed at night! Nancy also sent us lists she made of recommendations for parks and beaches they would enjoy! We will definitely come back!

The Groom Room
Nancy was so welcoming and the place is very beautiful. The barn was full and she introduced us to theb other guests which helped facilitate conversations. The common areas are ripe for shared pleasant evenings and good conversations. The Grooms room is partitioned off from the Bridal roim. This means sound and light comes into the Grooms room from the Bridal room. I really enjoyed the couple and their dog, but one of them snored loudly and I could not sleep. The space felt private, but If the other room is booked you might get some unpleasant noise that just cant be helped even by the most polite of company. I would stay again, but maybe not when both rooms are occupied.

We really enjoyed our four nights at Mi Querida ranch. It was so beautiful and peaceful. It is close to a lot of pretty places. We loved giving carrots to Daisy the donkey and Hannah the horse. We had a wild turkey staying in a pine tree near our campsite. What a charming place and Nancy is a very nice host.

Nancy was very communicative through the whole process. Her property is so relaxing and peaceful. We have a 30 ft class A and parked at the 50 amp site. We didnt have to do a lot of leveling. Since we were the only campers there, she allowed our dogs to run freely. Her land is entirely fenced. The pups loved it as much as we did. Bring some carrots to feed Hannah and Daisy (horse and donkey). They are very sweet. If you dont have any carrots, Nancy has treats on the table by the fence where instructions are posted on how to feed them. We will definitely visit again.

There was enough space to park and comfortably camp in our 15’ trailer while our dog wandered the property. It was a great evening and there was a nice, clean bathroom to use. We were able to say hi to the horse and donkey in the morning while we cooked breakfast. Super friendly host.

Nancy was very accommodating and helpful and we had the site to ourselves. The bathroom/shower facilities are a bit rustic but the view across the paddock was nice and the surroundings were very quiet. Hannah the horse and Daisy the donkey were sweethearts.
