Secluded Starlit Yurt
I was super happy with my stay and would highly recommend. As a host, Anna-Thea was wonderful, responsive and kind. While her house is nearby, it felt private and we had ample space for tents and lawn games. She allowed us to use the rented fire pit which was crucial to the vibe. The yurt itself is lovely and while you shouldn't forget to bring your own bedding to place on top of the bed, it was super comfortable. If you book here, I recommend that you bring your own jugs of water and plan to rent the port-a-potty (which is required for a party over 6). The alternative to the port-a-potty is to do #1 outside and #2 in bucket with sawdust to pour on top. It is also worth noting that you do have to pay an additional fee per person, to rent the firepit and to rent the port-a-potty, so costs really add up in the end compared to what is featured as the nightly rate. Despite all this, our stay was perfect for our group of 12 and I look forward to going back!

We loved staying at the yurt, it was a beautiful location and we really enjoyed ourselves. Make sure to bring plenty of bug spray. We got completely destroyed by mosquitoes (maybe it’s the time of the year?)

We enjoyed isolation from others had we gone to a campground, while still close to the activities we set out to do.
This was late winter outing and choosing the tiny house made the stay for us very enjoyable. Saved me from trailering my camper over the Sierras with my camper!
We had heat, shower, sleeping, cooked outdoors using our Trail Fire BBQ (propane).
We enjoyed a morning rain, trekking the property, fresh air smells! Our small pups enjoyed the roaming opportunities too.
Host Anna-Thea was available as needed, and we did have a meet and greet!
The yurt was vacant allowing us to view that set up too.
It’s so great to support providers on HipCamp, and I’m thankful to find Anna-Thea’s property!

Our stay on Anna-Thea's property was excellent! The yurt was very clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. There was a heat wave in the area when we stayed, but the fan provided in the yurt kept us cool. Anna-Thea was an excellent, but non-intrusive host. She made sure she was available for anything that we needed (which we didn't because she had thought of everything).
The setting of the property is gorgeous, just close enough to Grass Valley and Nevada city. We would recommend checking out Edwards Crossing on the Yuba river.

Anna-Thea’s place is an amazing Glamping option so close to the Bay Area! The yurt is well appointed and provides an oasis for a rejuvenating weekend. We loved it! Anna-Thea is an amazing host and we couldn’t thank her enough!

I spent my 40th birthday with 3 friends and my dog on this property! We had such a great time! Anna-Thea was very welcoming and was around to answer any questions (and bring us a can opener!), but definitely gave us our privacy. The yurt was a great space to sleep or play cards or do some yoga. There is plenty of room for multiple cars and tents. The space is private but is in view of the her house and the private dirt road. I’ve done a lot of backpacking and dispersed camping so totally fine with the toilet situation, but if you need a flushing toilet this is probably not the site for you. Ladies-bring your Kula cloth! Behind the main house, there’s an outdoor shower and we all took hot showers to rinse off sunblock and lake water from our lake day. It was luxurious!!! My dog was very welcomed and he loved being off leash to follow us around the site! Propane fire pit was available for use but there’s an extra $45 charge for its use, just fyi.

Overall we had a good stay and plenty of fun experiences. Camp kitchen was smaller than I expected, but still made great use of space and managed to make some good meals

I had a two night retreat on my own at this beautiful place. The yurt was very comfortable. Anna-Thea was very kind, helpful and communicative. I ended up having an astrological reading that was very interesting and fun. She was wonderful. I truly cherished my short time at this beautiful piece of land.

Oh gosh, there’s so much I could say about this beautiful space. It was such a serene experience, so peaceful and relaxing. This was my first time camping in a yurt and I was absolutely obsessed! It was so spacious! And you can tell Anna Thea took her time to create a very intentional spiritual space.
We loved the outdoor kitchen too. It was stocked with everything we needed. I will say if you are traveling with a larger group, it’d be good to bring extra cookware / plates. It was just me and my husband, so it worked out perfectly for us :)
Another perk was the level of privacy, which truly created an intimate and personal experience. We got to just lounge outside in the hammock, reading books and admiring all that nature had to offer. We saw wild turkeys, butterflies, woodpeckers, and other lovely birds.
Oh and the stars! Wow! What a view! It was like a painting.
Thank you so much Anna Thea for letting us stay here! We will definitely be back in the future :)

Secluded Starlit Yurt
We were a family of 3 with a dog who stayed in the yurt for 2 nights. The yurt was very roomy and had lights, fan and electrical outlets. The kitchen shed had an electrical stove, coffee with coffee maker, sink with running water, seating area and pots and pans. We brought our own camping stove and other cooking equipment and there was plenty of counter space to set things up. There was an additional picnic table and chairs around a gas fire pit (separate charge).
The property also has tiny house, but it's set on the other side of the house, so we did not have any issues with privacy.
Anna-Thea is a very good host and was very responsive and there for any help we needed.
At this time of the year there was a lot of mosquitos, so bringing bug spray is an absolute must. The toilet situation with a bucket is a little tricky and you won't want to share with any other group other than immediate family.
Nearest store is at Grass Valley a 20 min drive away. The yurt is in a very secluded forested area and we had a lot of fun exploring the property walking and with our bikes.
I'll recommend the stay here and if the toilet situation was improved I would give it 100%.

Secluded Starlit Yurt
Anna-Thea is a wonderful host! She made the yurt and surrounding area feel like home in so many ways! The outdoor kitchen is outfitted well for cooking and cleaning, and the propane fire pit was perfect for our needs.
The yurt is beautifully appointed, with a large space for making yourselves truly comfortable. The bed is so comfortable, and hearing the frogs at night was a treat! Deer wandered through a few times, as well as some wild turkeys with babies in tow.
There is a lot of opportunity to explore the dense green spaces, and we found so many small delights when we were hiking, from mushrooms, to mossy trees, blooming wildflowers, medicinal plants, ponds in unexpected places.
Definitely recommend this for solo time, couples looking for a place to get connected, or even families (like ours) who want to get away.

Secluded Starlit Yurt
Anna-Thea was a wonderful host offering us extra blankets and showing us the outdoor kitchen and shower. We were a group of 3 adults, a child and a dog but we could have easily fit more family and friends in the yurt as it was very comfortable, spacious and warm. The grounds were very tidy and had a great picnic table for eating as well as a fantastic fire pit with seating for toasty hangouts. The location is exactly what we were looking for: about an hour from most ski spots in North Lake Tahoe and 20-30 minutes away from all amenities in quaint towns like Grass Valley and Nevada City.

It was raining hard when I arrived at the site, but Google Maps and T-Mobile made it work. This whole place makes me feel at ease and there is plenty of equipment and amenities if you need. Anna-Thea will make every effort to accommodate. She is a very welcoming host full of warm smiles. This is the solitude in the woods that I always wanted. I’m so happy I came here. Will come back again!

Our friends and I had a great time staying at the yurt for the weekend. Anna-Thea is a wonderful and caring
host! She greeted us and showed us around when we arrived, and checked in with us the next day to make sure we were doing okay (unfortunately, I didn’t check my phone while I was there and missed her messages). If you’re into astrology and card reading, Anna-Thea is a great person to talk to! I booked her yurt for my girlfriend’s birthday celebration. Our friends all complimented how nice the stay was. There’s is an outdoor kitchen with a kitchen sink, coffee maker, and electric burner to prep food and drinks. Utensils are also available for us to use. There are two compost toilets and an outdoor shower with hot water. The yurt is big enough for 7 of us to all sleep in. Electrical outlets are also available inside the yurt. Great amenities for amateur campers like us :)
Definitely recommend to people who are looking for a weekend getaway and enjoy spending time in the mountains. Thank you Anna-Thea for creating such a peaceful place!

The wonderful yurt on Anna-Thea's property was perfect! We enjoyed peace and quiet while my dogs roamed the forest and swam in nearby Rollins Lake. We felt very safe and relaxed beneath the canopy of gorgeous trees. We're going back for sure! She's an amazing host.

As a first time camper, it was a wonderful stay. We had a group of 13 people, and Anna was able to provide everything we need. We booked the Tiny House as well so we had both the compost toilets and flush toilet (although none of us use the compost ones). All of us really enjoyed the campsite, it is spacious with lots of privacy (her house is like a 2 min walk from the campsite).

It was awesome staying in Earth Castle's Yurt. They were perfect hosts. The King size bed is so comfortable. The best part was having a “couples astrology reading” with Anna-Thea. It was so eye-opening and affirming. If you've never had an astrology reading I'd highly recommend one with her! Definitely going to book her place again for a girlfriend get-away weekend so we can get our astrological charts done. Thank you AnnaThea and friends! We had a great time.

We had a wonderful time at the Yurt. We loved being surrounded by the trees 🌲 and we enjoyed Anna-Thea as our host. She did a mini reading for us that was insightful! We definitely hope to come again!
The only thing to note is that there were some bees and/or wasps so definitely be aware of that but they weren’t really a problem.

We had a great time. Even our dog who hates camping seemed to enjoy it. The yurt was lovely and very comfortable, the convenience of a sink at the outdoor kitchen was appreciated, and Anna-Thea was a helpful communicative, responsive yet unobtrusive host. Our dogs enjoyed being about to roam about.
Propane fire pit was a great addition, based on another review we brought our own tank which worked out well.
The only "not great" part I would add, for those of us who have to squat to pee, is that peeing in the woods is not that fun, next time I would bring a pee funnel or something like that to make it easier.
We will hopefully be back with more folks in the future.
