Camp Tillicum
Friends and I loved staying at Jaime's property, it was quite spacious and beautiful / lush and only a stones throw away from town. Jaime was the perfect host, very accommodating and able to answer any questions we had!

We had a very cosy stay at Camp Tillicum. Just one night hut we could have stayed longer. Jaime has been wonderful and warm welcoming. We enjoyed the simple yoga session. The proximity to nevada city and old 49 bridge were a real plus. We may be back there.

This area is absolutely gorgeous, and you’ll see it as you drive into the site from I-80. I definitely recommend stopping at some of the scenic overlooks on highway 20 to really take it all in. There was some miscommunication with the host, so she wasn’t able to be there to greet us when we arrived and we had some trouble figuring out our set up. We ended up being right next to the house so we could have water/electricity connected to our 19’ camper, so if you like more privacy I recommend coming here with a tent. The layout is a little awkward to situate an RV elsewhere on the camp site. We initially had some problems with getting enough water pressure, but that seemed like a one time issue the host already had some maintenance coming to work on.

Great spot to meet the needs of camper van sprinter life. Electricity, water, and wifi! They had some cute tables and chairs which we didn't get to utilize because of the air quality/weather. I wish the spots were more spread out, but it makes sense for having the hookups.

Camp Tillicum was a very fun and private getaway for us and our 3 dogs. Jaime was very helpful, nice and accommodating. And her dog Kane is very friendly.
There are a few improvements needed that are “in the works”, such as a functioning toilet and overall clean up/organization of the camp.
There are a total of 3 spots at the camp quite close together. Had we not been the only ones there, I think we would have felt a lack of privacy and not been as happy as we were.
All in all, I would recommend Camp Tillicum. The location is great very close to the South Yuba River, fabulous swim holes and beautiful lakes.

Our family had a great weekend tent camping at Camp Tillicum. Jaime was a very accommodating and friendly host who really wants her guests to have a great stay.

Great private camping area for the group. Jaime’s place is definitely eccentric but in a very fun way! Definitely will stay there again!

Jamie was a great host, friendly and accommodating. The site matched the description, and the directions were easy to follow. Jamie provided a handy carpet right by the RV side. Very good option for a straight forward, laid back stay around Nevada City.

A nice spot if you want to be close to Nevada City and the Yuba. The host is nice, very attentive, and oriented us well. Pretty close to the main house and no toilet were definitely the downfalls. Be prepared to carry your poop out with you.

Upon the arrival the site looked to be spacious, lots of areas to setup camps, really neat spot! Jaime greeted us, showed us around, and asked us about our dog we brought. I found it odd that she asked if our dog was friendly considering her campsite said pets were allowed. We setup our campsite, and went about our trip. Fast forward to our last night we come back from the river, unpacking our car, and although we asked if she could keep an watchful eye on her dog, he comes up to ours causing an altercation. After, I found a scratch on our dogs snout, bleeding. So, only thing that really made the entire trip annoying and not a peaceful vacation is that we had to keep our eye out for our dog due to her own dog on our paid campsite stay. Which is a HUGE deal.

Jaime was pleasant. She is clearly trying hard to make it work. We arrived a bit later or I would have requested to be towards the back of the property for privacy. I like to feel like I’m alone in the woods with the safety of hip camping, just my personal preference. She has a very friendly dog who patrols the property making everyone feel safe.

This is a brand new Hipcamp spot and we were her second group of campers. She is still working through some bugs and exactly what her vision is for the site, but on the whole we had a pleasant experience. I had a small trailer and a friend a truck tent. We got in after dark and she put us in a convenient spot in her side yard driveway. After learning the space the next morning, there were other, much more awesome spots I will park at next time. Jaime has a great piece of land and you can be as close or far away as you want, as long as you clear the spot with her first.
Tent campers - there are no toilets of any kind. Be prepared with your own equipment. She provides electric, well water, a dish washing station, and garbage. AND, she provides a super friendly, giant German Shepard. He was a sweetheart and played with my two larger pups very well. For cat people, she’s got them too.
We will return as this is a great base camp to explore the Sierras from, and Jaime was a super sweet host.

Had a wonderful time camping here. Jamie is an exceptionally gracious host and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The property is conveniently located between downtown and the river. There is plenty of room to spread out and lots of available shade. Would definitely stay here again!

Jaime was super friendly and spent a lot of time showing us around the yard and chatting with us. My friends went ahead and stayed there, but I was worried about all the poison oak around and really wanted access to a shower and a toilet, so I got a hotel nearby. My friends reported a mama bear and her cub came to their car, which they managed to scare away in the middle of the night. Was probably the smell of the food in the car. This site is perfect for the brave, sociable, "roughing it" camper.
