Peaceful, well-equipped, and fun!
We just got back from a long weekend at Camp Noyo and stayed at the Crowley campsite. I honestly can’t recommend it enough, especially for families who want a taste of off-grid camping without giving up too many comforts.
The site itself was spacious, private, and surrounded by towering redwoods. There was enough shade to stay cool during the day but still plenty of dappled light in the morning for coffee at the picnic table. Our five-year-old had a blast exploring the nearby trails and splashing in the river with our adult kiddos.
Crowley comes stocked with a table, fire ring, propane stove, lanterns, and all the cookware you’d need, which made meals super easy. There are flushing toilets, hot showers (you heat water with a little wood fire!), and even kayaks down at the river. It honestly felt more like a private retreat than a campsite.
A few things to know: Your belongings will need to be loaded into an ATV and moved to your campsite by a host. This went quickly but something to be aware of. Also, the drive in is a long dirt road, totally doable in our SUV, but slow-going. It took us 35 minutes.
The host, Lynn was kind, attentive, and super helpful from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. You can tell she really cares about making this place special. We’d love to come back!
