Great stay! The host provided clear and accurate info for accessing the property and using all the amenities. This is an excellent spot for families, swings, zip line, ropes, beautiful views, fire pits, BBQ, lounge chairs, and picnic tables. The place is spacious and peaceful. Just note that a 4x4 vehicle is definitely needed to get there. Would stay again!

I had a good experience. There is plenty of space to pitch a tent. And the night city view is amazing. The host is very responsive and very transparent. Overall it worked out for me fine. But there are a few things that could have been better:
- the water in the bathroom ran out on day 2. We barely used it. Didn’t take any showers.
- there are a bunch of solar panels etc but there was no instruction about how to use any of it. Maybe the expectation was that we won’t use any of it.
- the place doesn’t lead to any trails etc, so you run out of things to do very quickly.
- you don’t have the typical amenities you expect in a campground (toilet as an example) and the ones there didn’t quite work (water).
The nights were a bit hard. The noises from animals, critters and birds were interminable and the constant rustling in the bushes kinda made for an unnecessary adventure. Also the first morning there I saw two coyotes casually walking past us. This led me to believe wildlife frequents here. I just wanted a bit more visibility and some thoughtful arrangement of things from the host. Maybe fix up the cabin and make it available to guests instead of a tent.
But if you are the adventurous kind then this can be an awesome camping destination and a rare find

Camp Jaron is a very quiet spot close to downtown Los Gatos. Pros: Hot shower, composting toilet, and mostly private (The neighbor's house has a direct line of sight on the main campsite area — further down the hill is more private) Neutral: Rough road to access property, 4x4/clearance required as described. Cons: Limited level ground for parking rig, I had to park directly under large branches which I try to avoid whenever possible, would recommend packing leveling blocks. Limited level & cleared space for tents — Expect overgrowth / leaves / mulch / poison oak.

Really loved this campsite! Best parts were how private it felt and the large space. Also was in a very safe area and had fun swings and other cool amenities for our 4 yr old to use. We even saw a deer up close! It was a good first camping experience for our toddlers. You definitely need four wheel drive to get up and though the cabin was nice to have, there was evidence of mice, so this is a better space for the pure camping experience—which was great for us to use our tent and experience sleeping outdoors for the first time with our little ones (age 4 and 2).

We loved this secluded spacious spot. Super close to lots to do, about 30 minutes from Santa Cruz and Campbell so close enough to make a quick run to the grocery store or the beach.
This location is much bigger than the pictures do justice. It could easily fit 3 or 4 families and has tons to do! A slack line, high quality zip line (mostly for the kids <120 lbs for the most fun) the views are excellent the start gazing was decent.
The little cabin provides space for 2-4 people maybe a few more if folks sleep on the floor.
The restroom area is well appointed if a bit rustic, but way better than a porta potty or less. The shower was one of my highlights - nothing like an open air shower with hot water!
4 wheel drive is a real requirement. Also be mindful this is a decently rural spot. We had all sorts of visitors from a family of deer and various birds to wasps, ants and lots of mice.

We enjoyed our time here at Camp Jaron. We were lost in the beginning but after reviewing directions from owner we were able to find the location and actually find the camp. We like that a lot of necessities are provided and that its connected to natures and trails. We would visit again! Thank you very much

Amazing place. Kids loved here. Many activities so much fun. Every corner you can touch the nature views of peace. Midnight is so beautiful! And two mattress are comfy too.

Camp Jaron is a great place to stay - there's a ton of space to walk around, fun activities like ziplining and the slack line, and our dog had plenty of space to run around. The cabin also had everything one would need. We'd definitely come back here in the future!

Absolute gem of a place! You do need the awd to get up the driveway, it is that steep (one of our vehicles did not make it). Communication was seamless and everything was as described. We stayed during an extreme heatwave and found the campsite being tolerable because of the shade and lots of space. Hammocks were great! Tiny (and hopefully not hard) thing to improve would be leveling the tables and grill a bit, everything else was nearly perfect!

I really loved and my family enjoyed this place. The view was amazing. My dogs were so happy being wild and free. The host has your back on every little detail and he makes sure you understand everything about the site. It was an adventure with the truck going up in the entrance. A lot of space for us to relax and we really had a good time. I don't have anything bad to say about this place. Night was quiet and we didn't see any wild animals. There is plenty of shade

We had a wonderful time staying here. Accommodations were as described/pictured - perfect for 2-3 people inside. Plenty of room for tents but we chose to squeeze a 4th person inside.
Kids could not get enough of the swings/hammocks/zip line.
We all enjoyed relaxing by the campfire.

I had a great experience at this campsite! It has all the amenities you'd want and need. It was very well thought out and I appreciate the attention to the details.
1. Solar lights illuminating the steps to the bathroom
2. Solar Panel connected to a Power Station with all the different cables to recharge your devices.
3. Extra towels, bottled water, disinfectants, tables, chairs, the list goes on!
4. Pre-chopped firewood (maybe I got lucky?) Stacked & Available
5. Outdoor shower with a view. It was a hose connected to a water pump for water pressure and a heater (via propane tank) for hot water. It was pretty legit! I appreciated the extra horizontal piece of 2x4 in the outdoor shower where we can place our soap/shampoo - and the hook at the end of the shower to hang my towel. This was a great set up.
The only minor downsides were the initial hill to get up to the site & the bathroom. The hill is steep, but short. Nothing my 4th gen 4Runner couldn't handle. And the compost bathroom was a little mehhh but manageable. One of the more sanitary compost toilets we've used. For an off the grid bathroom, it's probably as good/clean as it gets. Honestly not that big of a deal.
I liked that this site wasn't far from town and campfires were allowed. This place had plenty of flat ground for tent camping, huge trees for plenty of shade, we had more space than we could ever use, I loved it! It was very secluded, we didn't see or hear anyone which is what I want from my campsite! 10/10

Absolutely loved the stay! It was an amazing secluded spot. The cabin had the perfect amount of space. The shower was luxurious with a view. The host provided everything you may need for a stay and anything you may have forgotten. The host seemed to think of everything from scandals for the shower to dog bowls. One of the best spots we have stayed in. The host’s communication was extremely helpful and welcoming. Couldn’t recommend this spot more.

This place is a great getaway. Michael has made it easy to come out here. All descriptions and directions were clear. The camp had a selection of supplies to help our family out for the little things forgotten. Lots of space for my kids to run around. Comfortable situation all around. Definitely will be back in the future.

Loved everything about it. The photos don’t do justice of this place. It is so beautiful, everything is so well thought out and all the amenities made our stay even more better. Can’t wait to be back. Also the host is super chill and very helpful!

Peaceful space with lots of outdoor space to play and roam. Beautiful view of the mountains. The dogs loved all the room to run and sniff! Only complaint is that the hot water heater was not working for the shower; one of the main reasons we booked this place was for the shower amenity. And it was far too cold outside to take a cold shower. Overall 8/10!

We couldn't have asked for a better stay for our Thanksgiving trip! The cabin was perfect for our little family, and there was plenty of space for additional tent campers. I'm so impressed by all of the thoughtful details on the property, and would absolutely stay here again. We were also able to get in a nice hike at the nearby Bear Creek Open Space Preserve (~10-15 mins away). Thank you for some great memories!

Place was great! Perfect for for a rainy weekend. Michael is a very responsive host and made sure we had everything we needed. The directions were spot on and we had a very pleasant experience overall. Dallas the dog loved it too as he had a warm place to chill away from rain and cold. Great hiking trails near by with amazing views! We will definitely come again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet private camping site with all the amenities one would need.

Great experience for our group of 18. Fire pit is great. Road is really hard to get up so if you don’t have 4 wheel drive I wouldn’t attempt. Great views and solitude.

It's a sweet little place in a quaint area without being too far from town. Pretty Views. The bathroom+shower set up is nice. Little tricky coming up the dirt road. Bumped my SUV coming in and out, despite being careful. Watch out for the flies when its hot. Appreciate Michael's communication skills.

This is a little gem so close to Silicon Valley. The cabin was immaculate, comfortable and the views beyond spectacular. The compost toilet was odorless and the experience of a hot shower outdoors was breathtaking.

Conveniently located minutes from Los Gatos, our group of 15 found ample room for several large tents at Camp Jaron. Faintly in the eastern sky, you can see the sparkling lights of the city.
It has a very nice fire pit and a nice small cabin. And a table for preparing meals.
And if you need it, there’s a small bathroom and shower and a small cabin for 2 to 3 people to sleep.
Nice place to stop if you’re going to drive the next day to go hiking like we did.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The cabin was very cozy & the perfect size for 3 guests. There was also the option to pop tents on various areas of the property for more guests if needed. Inside the cabin and toilet/shower facilities, it was as if every little detail had been thought out. The compost toilet was a pleasant surprise. If used properly, there are no bad smells. The outdoor shower was absolutely amazing. Took a little finagling to get the right settings, but once you've got it, it's a really nice experience. There were plenty of supplies: cleaning supplies, some kitchen stuff (note: if you are planning on cooking food here, I'd advise bringing your own camp stove with pots/pans), bath & hand towels, games, and even a dog bed & bowls. The bed & futon were comfortable & there were plenty of blankets and pillows to keep warm at night. The eye masks and ear plugs were a nice touch as well. The site was up a winding road with lots of hairpin turns, and a very steep dirt driveway. It took us a few tries to get one of our cars up (smaller SUV with AWD, but we finally got it after adjusting our approach.) Our larger SUV had no problems with the driveway. If you need anything from town, it's only a short 10-15 minute drive. However, you are far enough away from town to really enjoy some beautiful views. The site is very secluded for the most part, although the neighbor does have some animals that you'll hear. The site also has some swings & hammocks. Overall very relaxing!

Wife and I were looking for a quite get away for a couple days with our dog. One of our friends referred us to this App (Hipcamp) and we came across this gem of place. Camp Jaron was everything we were looking for and more. A little off the beaten path, but once you arrive… what a view! Plenty of room for activities. We were able to let our dog off leash to roam around. The mini cabin was cozy and the shower and toilet worked great. Night time was a little chilly but quite…did a little night walk around the property which was nice. Lastly, during our 2nd day we made a quick trip (about a 10min drive) to Los Gatos down town to explore. So pretty convenient location.
All in all highly recommend this place to anyone. Especially if you’re looking for a nice quiet get away!
