Super enjoyed our stay here. Alan and Heather are such welcoming, nice, and helpful hosts. Having the camping experience with a nice warm shower felt like a luxury. So much to explore In the area or just stay on the site for a day and wander down an old railroad tracks trail that goes on for as long as you want with amazing views. We brought lunch with us and made a day of it! Highly recommend !

The views were mind blowing. The host was really nice and welcoming. They allowed us to check out pretty late as there were no further reservations for which were really grateful. 100% recommend this spot. Magical night skies.

Camp Heather was a beautiful oasis with breathtaking vista views! The hosts were very accommodating and there were lots of nice touches like pumpkin decorations and a fire pit that kept us warm! The indoor amenities were private and clean. We also loved reading about the mining history and experiencing Tuolumne in the fall. We would highly recommend!

Camp Heather provided a great landing spot for us outside of Tuolumne. We enjoyed the lovely deck and the sounds of nature throughout our stay. A private indoor bathroom and shower at the main house was a short walk away from camp, and having a 4WD vehicle allowed for a little more privacy than would have otherwise been afforded (as we were sleeping in the truck, and the concrete pad is just outside the main house). We were hoping to get some laptop work done in nature on the wifi, but were never able to connect. Our hotspot, similarly, had no service. This was fine, as the local coffee shop was a 5 minute drive away. Our hosts were friendly and respectful, and offered good local tips. Would recommend!

The view is spectacular and the gazebo was perfect to hang under and cook. It was an extra bonus to have a bathroom with a shower accessible for us to use with a separate entrance from the hosts. It was a 1.5 hour drive from Yosemite like the page says, and worked out really nice for our two day trip there. Would highly recommend!

Camp Heather in Tuolumne City
Camp Heather was the perfect spot for my first outdoor getaway with friends since quarantining. It was private, with it's own bathroom and shower, and a big, beautiful gazebo to hang out at for meals and for shade during the day. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful and gave us tips on hikes in the area. But it was the incredible mountain views that got me and made it really special. The pics don't do it justice. Highly recommend.

This was a wonderful place to stay. My girlfriend, pup and I stayed here one night.
One simple word to describe this place: VIEWS. The view of the mountains looking into Yosemite is incredible. The directions were a little tough to follow to get to the property, but once we got there, it was all worth it.
Heather and Alan were gracious and accommodating hosts. Clean showers and running water (hose) when needed. Amazing gazebo to have a nice sunset dinner and then stargaze into the mountain valley at night.
Definitely recommend checking this place out, especially if you are planning to go to Yosemite National Park.

We loved this site with amazing views. They set out games, so we played plenty of Rummikub our one night here! The pavilion was the perfect spot to enjoy dinner during sunset and coffee in the morning. Having access to an indoor shower and bathroom was amazing. Although the bathroom is in the main house it is a private entrance so you don’t feel like you’re bothering anyone. There was a perfect spot to pitch our tents, and parking wasn’t too far away from our spot. I highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning view! The hosts were great - leaving us water, pretzels, board games, and local guidebooks to help out stay. Alan also gave us an awesome rec for a watering hole which was much needed after a long drive down hot and Smokey California. I would recommend this site to any and everybody!

Had such a great time here with my family. We needed a last minute place before exploring Yosemite, sequoias and this was the perfect spot! My parents are huge campers so the flush toilet and shower was perfect. The pictures don’t do justice for how amazing the view is!

The view is pretty epic, and it was nice to have access to a shower after several days of camping. The hosts are low key and left us to ourselves. Everything was smooth, and matched the photos (the gazebo is truly great). It’s a great locations to access some hikes around Stanislaus.

We loved the deck, perfect for the tent, hammocks, etc. The site looks like it does in the pictures but the proximity to the owners home makes it seem as if you’re camping in a backyard (which I guess we were). The only other negative is that the site was crawling with hornets. Heather did bring hornet traps, that helped a bit. Not sure we’d stay here again but it was a nice experience.

Great valley views, wildlife, and stargazing. I really loved the covered deck. Owner was friendly and helped me tow my car when it got stuck in the gravel driveway down to the tent site. I liked the private indoor bathroom too. Would stay here again.

Very quiet and beautiful campsite. The view from the gazebo will keep you looking at it for hours. At night we were able to see the stars in the sky and my 12 year old son was thrilled to say that he saw his first shooting star. It was an unforgettable stay for our family. Thank you so much!

This property is something special indeed! Alan is a gracious host and we had full privacy the entire time. The view is absolutely fantastic! One of the best parts was the close access to Westside trail - excellent accessible mountain biking if you have little ones! HIGHLY recommended!

Alan was a kind and wonderful host. Camp Heather is a breathtaking location and a perfect spot to call home while traveling. It is peaceful and calm and close to town and Yosemite. Could not have asked for a better place to stay.

We had a great time at Camp Heather! We used it as a base for hiking in the Emigrant Wilderness and around Lake Pinecrest - highly recommend! Camp Heather is beautiful, clean, and a perfect get-away.

Great views from the deck! It sits right on the side of the mountain. Overall, the spot was as expected! However, the views via photos don't do it justice. The overlook includes a small view of the North Fork Tuolumne River. We experienced quite a bit of wind on the deck so keep your 'lighter' items secured so they don't blow away -- nonetheless, the wind was all very manageable. Spotted several deer, turkeys, and even a gray fox that was hunting in the tall dry grass an hour after sundown. Bathroom (attached to the dwelling) was very clean and accommodating. On the deck a little table was set up with some welcoming items and a trashbag was provided for trash. Technically didn't meet the host Alan but did meet someone in lieu. Definitely unique and would love to come back!

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at Camp Heather. Host Alan and his wife Heather were very friendly. They showed us the property when we came in. Campsite was clean with a nice private bathroom plus hot showers - such a treat. Love the bench and the gazebo. Lots of firewood too.
Thanks to all the tips on what to see around Toulumne - my husband and I had a great Sunday ride through Sonora pass and Markleeville. Will definitely stay again and will bring other riders.

Alan and Heather’s spot was wonderful. They welcomed us upon arrival but left us to camping from after that (Alan briefly said hi in the morning, too)! There is a full bathroom with private access on the side of their house, so we had access to a sink and shower (which we didn’t use but the option is there!). Otherwise, a grill (bring charcoal), a fire pit with chairs, and the cute adjoined deck chairs with great views all make for a perfectly outfitted campsite. We’d love to be back for another easy, peaceful visit to the mountains.
