This place would be perfect in summer or hot days. The scenery is unbelivable (your are litteraly sleeping a the bottom of the monuments. Unfortunatly we were there in december and we didn't know ahead that the water of the showers would be shut down to prevent freezing. Anyway, campsite are as described, showers and restroom are basic but enough for a campsite.

Amazing view, kind hosts
Hummingbird campsite was exactly what were looking for on our road trip — a safe place to park our campervan for the night with views, a toilet, and a fire ring / table. The hosts were communicative and kind. Because we were there in winter weather, we were the only campers. The shower isn’t operational in winter months; but the affordable price was well worth the view and convenience of this spot. Also, cute dogs!

Minutes from monument valley
Great spot just minutes away from monument valley! Very clean and well maintained. The host was very responsive as well. Sunrise was soooo beautiful.

better find another campsite
The HipCamp description is not accurate and misleading, so later I used other apps to book campsites. There was no shower, no water, and no wifi or mobile signal at all. We paid more money to stay at a campsite with nearly nothing. The dogs are cute though.

Great alternative to The View camp
Great primitive campsite just outside Monument Valley Park. Amenities include a picnic bench, shade and fire pit and each site. 1 Outhouse... which is one of the cleanest and well done I've seen. Shower is available but line was frozen for our stay (understandable, given we were there in mid-teens weather).

Gorgeous site
Loved the experience, rustic as it is. Only disappointment was there not being potable water on site as listed. Otherwise the views are great, it wasn’t crowded and there’s a trail outside the gate that takes you to view more monuments + connects to horse trails down around them. Wonderful few days of solitude. The on site dogs were a bonus to me, they greeted me each morning and kept me company on the first mile or so of the trail. Very good boys. I used a sound machine at night to drown out any animal noises.

Camping with lots of pups!
Very open and clean space. Brian was super chill and responsive. Lots of cute neighborhood dogs. There was a nice walk to an overlook just outside the entrance. Four neighborhood dogs joined us on the morning walk

Starry skies
Great location, close to Monument Valley. The night sky is gorgeous thanks to the very little light pollution. The place was easy to find, even in the dark. The camping spots are lit up nicely at night with dim lights. There are two dogs on the property. There is a toilet available. Shower is available, but it was broken when I was there. WiFi is available, but you probably won't get connected if you decide to stay a bit away from the host's residence. Closest busy town is about a 30 min drive away.

Amazing magical sacred camping spot
A beautiful and magical place! I Highly recommend staying here. The views are outstanding and unbelievable! The humming Bird Campground has all the needs for camping… shelter, fire pit, outhouse toilet, and also wifi if needed! A very magical sacred place and outstanding location. A must do! He also has two friendly dogs on the property. 🙏🏼💓

Yes, you want to stay here. Brian, Alberta, and the dogs are great hosts. The views are amazing. The area is quiet and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the trail to the outlook point. With that said, you also want to follow Brian’s directions on how to find Hummingbird Campground word-for-word as Google will get you lost.

Sleep Cheap
This was precisely what I was looking for. I had to be up early and on the road the next day and this worked perfectly for that. Besides, options are limited in Navaho Nation. Unless you booked a hotel room weeks in advance (or get lucky), you're camping, buddy.
I concur with others on the outhouse...made my eyes water. Was glad I was there mid-October instead of mid-July. It's not a deal breaker and I would definitely stay there again, but the outhouse is the defining line on a better review.

Easy to find, beautiful views, great location! Simple setup but had everything we needed (picnic table, fire pit, outhouse, reasonably private given the open landscape). We enjoyed the access to the short trail to the lookout point over the valley - made it easy for us to get up to watch the sunrise.

Great stop in Monument Valley!
Great location, clean site & welcoming hosts. Loved the dogs who were great guides around camp. Would definitely recommend doing the 20 minute walk out to the lookout, incredible views, do at sunset or just before sunrise. Lastly bring earplugs for surrounding neighborhood dog packs who enjoy howling in the night.

Humming Bird Campsite
We booked a campsite for an RV. However, the road to the campground is completely inaccessible for (large) RVs. There is a big drop onto a sand road and our RV was scraping on the ground in the first 3 meters. We had to find another campground last minute because we couldn't physically reach this campground. Please make it clearer on the booking site that this campsite is not accessible for large vehicles which aren't meant to go off road
