About Our Campground: • Open May 15 – September 30 • We operate as a dry campground - No RV hook-ups • 24 Campsites that are welcome to RVs, Camp Trailers, or Tents • 12 Overflow | Day-Use Parking welcome to Trucks, Boats, or Trailers Amenities Offered: • Fire Pits • Outhouses • Dumpster • Hand Washing Station • Fish Cleaning Station • Tether Ball • Horseshoe Pit • Immediate access to ATV Trail (goes directly to Kasilof Beach) Located in Kasilof, Alaska: • Less than half a mile off the Sterling Hwy. • A few minutes to/from Kasilof River or Kasilof Beach • 15 minutes to/from Tustumena Lake Boat Launch, Kasilof • 25 minutes to/from World-Famous Kenai River, Soldotna/Kenai • 30 minutes to/from Deep Creek Recreational Area, Ninilchik • 1 hour 10 minutes to/from Homer • 2 hours 10 minutes to/from Seward • 3 hours to/from Anchorage Additional Information: Birchwood Campground #1 (Original Location) Located in Kasilof, this is our original campground. It features 24 sites in a spacious, parking-lot style layout with minimal tree coverage, offering open skies and easy vehicle access. Birchwood Campground #2 (Secondary Location) Located in Soldotna, this private single-site campground is nestled among abundant trees for a secluded, wooded experience. The spot was well kept, Teala was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. She answered all my questions before we got there, was incredibly polite and helpful. We got delayed due to an accident and she was on top of it, making sure the spot remained ours. Would highly recommend and reserve again. Thank you!

The campground was very clean and quiet! It had everything we needed! Tent camping on the soft dirt/sand was very nice as well! The host was very communicative and understanding of our later arrival due to traffic/highway closure. Would definitely recommend staying here! Quiet campground to make base camp for a weekend of fishing. We enjoyed our stay!

Perfect spot for larger RV’s or fifth wheels. Easy to pull in and out, plenty of extra parking. Great location to get to beach or back to town if something was forgotten. We had a wonderful time staying there.

The campground is fine for what it is. No electricity or water that is stated up front. Free fish cleaning table and handwashing station. Plenty of firewood available on site for sale.

We had a great experience at Campsite #10. It’s located at the far end of the campground, so it’s a little farther from the entrance and amenities, but the walk is still very manageable. If you’re hauling a cooler full of salmon to the fish cleaning station, you’ll probably want to drive it over rather than carry it. The site itself is spacious enough for two vehicles, with plenty of room to maneuver. We pitched our tent against the hillside at the back of the site, which provided a nice sense of privacy and some protection from the wind. Overall, it’s a comfortable, roomy campsite and one we’d gladly stay at again.

We stayed at Birchwood Campground in Kasilof, Alaska, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The sites are spacious, level, and private, with clean restrooms, and a well-maintained feel throughout. The campground provided a peaceful atmosphere ideal for relaxing by the fire and stargazing after a few fish were cleaned at the provided station. The location is convenient for fishing the Kasilof. The hosts were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We experienced no issues with noise, cleanliness, or service. Excellent value for a quiet, comfortable stay on the Kenai Peninsula. Rating: 5/5 – Highly recommended. We would return without hesitation.
