n*Everland Barnyard is an eccentric art installation space created from found, recycled, and re-purposed building materials in the heart of Grant Wood Country in Jones County, Iowa. Gothic and rustic, the space provides multiple camp sites for easy access to bike trails through town and into the Wapsipinicon State Park across the river from the property. Kayak the Wapsi (we recommend a Matsell Bridge put in with a stop at the historic General Store in Stone City) and end only a mile away from your campsite at the Barnyard in Anamosa at the dam takeout. Visit the State Penitentiary Museum, hang out with the Barnyard chickens, hike our wooded trails, or simply unwind. This place is a magical retreat unlike anywhere else in the world. If you are seeking to disconnect from the world, find presence and live in the Now, this is the place for you.
There is a beautiful spring fed water hole ideal for swimming in the state park, as well as access to the river from our property (although we do not recommend swimming in the river due to pollutants.) Watching the sunset at the river is one of our absolutely favorite ways to end the day.
As of 2021, we have a newly constructed wood-fired pizza oven. Inquire upon booking about availability and pricing. You will not be disappointed, roasting any food and baking pizza in the outdoor oven is absolutely amazing!

If you do not have a good experience, that is on you. Bob is an incredible host and the property is incredible. 10/10 recommend!
Genuinely such an incredible space. If you are anywhere in the area, it is a must-see spot for all the phenomenal art and impressive structures: the houses and installation pieces were all built independently for the land, and the couple who live there invited us to explore the art and the surrounding area with tips and pointers for where to go. They were so welcoming, and invited us to eat dinner with them! The conversation was lovely, and the space is unapologetic and funky. An unforgettable experience!
Kind hosts, amazing art, and unique experiences. We will definitely return for the wood-fired pizza. The oven is a beauty. Thank you Robert and Xene for an enjoyable time.
Very beautiful and unique place to stay. Hosts were very welcoming and have a wealth of knowledge about the local area and activities to do, highly recommend checking this place out.
What an incredible place!! The pictures don't do it justice, you simply must visit here. We had the most amazing time exploring the art and getting to know the artists. Everything about them and this place is pure magic. They were incredible hosts, the tent space was cozy, the bathroom was incredibly clean, it was easy to get to and from here, and mostly it was a joy to explore the space! So much to see. I can't wait to visit here again.
Very welcoming people, it was a great experience! Full of fun and interesting art! Will be back

Thank you so much for having us in your beautiful space! The barn is even cooler than it looks in the pictures, definitely worth the trip to see in person. Next time we will definitely try out the pizza oven!
My group had a wonderful time, thanks to our hosts. Not only did they set up a huge bonfire and give us plenty of space to camp, they also made us homemade pizzas since we got rained out. The site itself is so artistic and gave us plenty to gaze and awe at. The state park nearby also gave us plenty to see including hiking, cave exploring, and swimming. Will definitely be back.
