ATTENTION: There is no gate to this property. The road department put a sign up that makes our neighbors road look like it should be Crawfordsville Dr. NO GATE If you see a gate you are at the wrong driveway. Again NO GATE 5 Acers of woods, 1 Acer of field/grassland, and one are on the hill with gravel for up RV's. Property is only 0.35 miles from Calapooia river access (local secret spot). 1 mile to McKercher Park and additional river access. General store 0.75 miles away. Next to the historic Crawfordsville Covered Bridge. 8 miles from Brownsville, this town has been featured in multiple movies. 13.8 miles from Foster lake. At the bottom of the property there is a tree house, fire pit, and large grass field that could accommodate 20+ tents. Upper area is a rock parking area with RV hook ups. gas firepit, gas BBQ, and picknic table. I only rent to one group at a time. Rarely camping there when campers are there but father is on site (the grey house) to assist if needed.5 acres of woods and grasslands by the Calapooia river. Local store is 0.5 miles. Located near the historic Crawfordsville covered bridge. 0.25 miles to river access and 1 mile from McKercher Park with river access. 14 miles to Foster lake. Right down the road from Shotgun Creek OHV park. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this location but close enough to enjoy the areas attractions. Have one RV site with full hook ups but several sites for tent camping as well. No toilets, we ask you bring a camp toilet. Do not turn left down the dirt road off of Hwy 228 the road before the covered bridge is a farm. Crawfordsville drive is a paved road and you turn left off of Crawfordsville road at the 3 mail boxes into our driveway. You then go straight in and up the hill. GPS is often wrong, you should not see any pigs pins on our road. If you see pigs you will have to back all the way out of a very long driveway.

We had a nice trip. Zip line was fun. Big field with swing to watch sunset was nice. River access is about a 7 to 10 min walk and it's just for dipping in and out. Not really hangingfor the day. mcKercher park a mile away better for that

Loved the site! Allergies were bad during May. Would’ve loved shorter grass and more spread out than shown. There was chopped wood and it’s not too far from a store. Overall loved the site!

great but hard to navigate at night

love how spacious the pad was where we parked the RV. loved the full hook up. we came at night and it was hard to find the little left turn off to the landing pad, so maybe a light or an image of what the turn off was would be helpful. there was even a fork at the bottom of the hill, where i thought we were supposed to park along side the other RVs off to the right. so, more signage overall would be great. but i still very much appreciated this space. thank you!

Wonderful time

This is our second trip to Shearer Camping. This trip was just as good as the first one. The camp is very clean and super quiet. Thanks for a great weekend

Big open spot, great for big group

Fairly easy to find, some in my group found it more difficult. Nice big open space with plenty of room for cars and tents. Host was pleasant and allowed us to have privacy as well. Would definitely recommend for large groups. The playhouse and zip line were a hit for the youngster with us! All around a nice and relatively quiet spot (aside from some barking dogs in the hills). RIP to little Jack-Jack as well

3 Nights At Shearer Camping

We stayed at the Shearer camping site for 3 nights in July this year. There are a lot of great things to love about this place - first and foremost I wanted to shout out James for being a super great host. They answered our phone call at 10pm the night we got in to help us get situated and then also gave us their 50 -> 30 Amp converter to use all week since we didn't have one. The place itself is pretty private, with just a few animals and young kids that can be heard during the day. There are several hikes to enjoy nearby and the place is 1 hour from the Blue Hole. Would recommend to anyone, and especially if you have several RVs that are joining for the trip as the actual gravel lot you stay in is huge.

This is a great spot, the kids loved the zip line and treehouse, very close to an awesome water hole too so we spent a good majority of the day hanging out in the river. The camp was very open and had beautiful views of the sunset.

The site needs more pictures that are updated. It was nowhere near what we expected. Sites should be cleaned and prepared when people are to be expected as well. I won't bash the host on here because he made it right by us, but if you are expecting to have a memorable camping experience you may want to look elsewhere.

Beautiful view and nice grassy area to pitch a tent. James was very friendly and helpful when my blonde kicked in and missed the turn to the camp spot. Right down the road from some great swimming holes. Had a lead wire attached to some trees to hook my puppers up to so he could run around which was awesome. I felt a little on display, but got over it pretty quickly. Would stay again and the only thing I would add would be cornhole boards…and a porta potty .

There were great views and it’s very relaxing. There is a dog that loves to visit. He is super friendly and loves to be included in everything that you would be doing outside.

The views are so peaceful and the property is a lot of fun with the zip line and tree house. There is a big hill in gravel to get to your spot. We tow a 29’ airstream with a GMC 3500 and had no trouble, just something to know! The hookups were great. Jack and James are fantastic hosts!

Fun in Crawfordsville!

My 3 kids (12, 11 and 9) and I enjoyed staying at this property. The RV pad is very spacious and has several hookups for RVs. The views from there are amazing. The property is fun to explore and my kids had a blast on the zip line. It rained quite a bit during our stay, nevertheless that didn’t keep my kiddos from wanting it to play outside. We’ll have to return during the summer months, we’d love to go swimming in the river.

Campout with grandkids!

The view is absolutely stunning! You’re on top of the world looking out to all the wonderful nature everywhere. The Sunset was beautiful! The grandkids so enjoyed the zip line ( all 4 of them) in the forest and the tree fort was awesome! Jack (James dad) was great and so very helpful to us . Thanking them all for their service to us in this nation as they are all veterans! The space you get is fantastic and has everything! Neighbor horses and all the swings are a true bonus! We will be back again, it’s a definite favorite! Thank you!!

Stargazing and Foster Lake!

Nice sunny site, great for stargazing! The location worked out great for spending time on Foster Lake. It was about a 20-25 minute drive to the lake and we avoided all the crowds at the lakeside campgrounds. Host was very responsive to questions. We'd definitely stay here again.

Would stay again!

The site is Class A friendly and off the beaten path (a great thing). The view is beautiful and was perfect for our evening bbq. The kids had a blast at the tree house and zip line. We would come back.

James was quick to respond and very helpful. Beautiful Property. Kids loved the zip line. The gravel area for trailer parking was a little further away then we thought, but we had the Razor at our disposal to drive up and down the hill. Had a great time.

If you are looking for privacy, this spot is perfect! James and Jack are very nice and extremely helpful, making sure your experience is memorable. We will definitely be back to enjoy this amazing place! Just watch out for the deer and turkeys who like to prank you at night :).
