Step onto Scrumpy and you'll find yourself slowing down and breathing deeply. Let your musings and wanderings be your timekeeper, and your curiosity lead you astray. Plug into the world of trees, bees, and farm rhythms, and unplug from the fast-paced, tech-, auto-, and wired-centric world. We believe that experiences worth having happen slowly, not in rushing about. Stay. Observe. Listen. Interact. We have two drive-in sites for small RVs and vans, five glamping-ish sites (furnished with tents, foam mats, and chairs) and four walk-in campsites with a tent pad ready for your equipment. Yes, please explore our trails, have a picnic in the social hall, dip your toes in the pond, check in on the farm animals, find your zen in a forest bath. Just remember to close the gates behind you, observe local fire restrictions, pack out your trash, and leave your campsite looking tidy for the next guest. We don't have food service on site. But we do have you-pick berries available for purchase. To compliment the berries, bring a dinner picnic basket (may we suggest a charcouterie and cracker board, fruit, bottles of your favorite beverage for sipping, decadent chocolates?) and a breakfast snack (how 'bout hard-boiled eggs, croissants, crisp apples, and tea?) and you're covered for your stay!!! The Shepherdess Hut

On the edge of the forest, overlooking the farm pasture, just as the shepherdess would want it. Very private, but very accessible to the camp amenities. Your accommodations include nearby parking for one vehicle, two 3" thick foam mats. (Each mat is 6’ long x 25” wide; when folded, they are seating; unfolded, they are your bed -- stacked or side by side.) The camp bathroom (with hot showers) is 100' away. You provide your pillows, a cover sheet for the mats, and a blanket. Or a sleeping bag.

Potbelly One Drive-Up Campsite
I arrived late Saturday and only stayed one night, but this spot was exactly what I needed. I chose it for its proximity to Estacada Lake, as I was in town for a paddleboard event. Unlike typical campgrounds, I felt a level of security here that made a big difference—especially traveling with my gear. Potbelly One (love the name!) was perfect. I could pull my van right in, and the trees provided great privacy from neighboring sites. It was quiet and peaceful—just birds chirping, and what I think was a pig snorting in the morning, which added to the charm. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the layout, with intentional spacing between sites and well-considered amenities. One of the biggest perks for me was being able to unload my paddleboards and sleep without worrying about them overnight, which isn’t something I’d feel comfortable doing at a standard campground. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip.

I absolutely loved this camping spot & highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful place close to tons of hikes near Mt Hood. I was lucky that no one else was camping there so I had the woods to myself as well. Everyone on the property was really nice & gave you privacy after the check in process. There is an abundance of bird life on the farm. My first night I listened to a pair of Barred Owls hoot through the night. It was amazing. Allison gave me a tour of the property & I got to say hello to the chickens, sheep, dogs & pigs. They even had baby chicks! If you’re an animal lover, this is the place for you. 10/10 recommend this spot!

We tent camped on one of the RV sites (Potbelly 2) so we could drive up, and we had a fantastic time. Our 3-yr old twins LOVED getting to meet and feed the farm animals, and the people who live on site were very friendly and welcoming. The outdoor bathroom was the cleanest I’ve ever experienced and only a few minutes walk from our site. The showers were a nice feature as well!

We enjoyed our short stay with Paula. The showers, bathroom, and kitchen sink clean up area were top notch. I appreciate the many personal touches in the tent including a lantern as we checked in later into the evening.

Elderberry: Walk-In Camping Site
We had a wonderful time at Scrumpy forest! The land and the farm are absolutely beautiful. We were greeted by pigs as we walked to our campsite, and our tent spot felt private. The sink and showers were also a nice luxury to have for camping. We were there with our 3 year old, and he loved seeing all of the animals. Paula was so nice, and took the time to introduce us to some of the farm animals. My son loved the ducklings and getting to pet a sweet sheep. We’ll definitely be coming back :)

The place is really beautiful and set up nicely! The 1000ft walk can definitely be a trek. The down fall really was there is dogs that bark at night every night and for hours on end. I left my site a night early because I couldn’t sleep due to that.

The site itself is beautiful! We were the only campers for our stay, the bathhouse was great, had a sink and running water. All the sites were pretty secluded from each other. I would recommend the “glamping” option. The hike-in is less than desirable. The host is very responsive, the wagon was broke when we came in, we texted them and they immediately replaced it with another wagon to use to hike into the site.

Really great spot, we stayed in the Huckleberry Bell Tent. It was quite rainy but we were snug and dry. Great bathhouse and kitchen set up too. Great combination of being out there (cell coverage spotty at best) but also close to the metro area.

Quidditch Meadow Group Camping/Event Site
Scrumpy Forest Farm is straight-up magical. Paula is a generous and kind host who made us feel right at home. She welcomed us to her beautiful land, helped us settle in, and shared the farm’s magic. The Quidditch field was perfect for our group campout: open enough to stargaze, yet surrounded by trees that made the space feel wild, safe, and tucked away from the world. The cozy kitchen had everything we needed—and honestly, I caught myself wishing it was my everyday kitchen. We even got to build chickadee birdhouses as a little nature craft project, which was such a fun bonus. And Etta the dog was adorable. Scrumpy Forest is one of those rare places that feels grounded and enchanting at the same time. Whether you’re visiting for a campout, a project, or one of their community events, I’d 100% recommend it.

Quidditch Meadow Group Camping/Event Site
Our church group stay here for 3 days and we all had a great time! The host was there to greet us at arrival and direct us to our campsite. During our stay Paula invited our group to a sheep milking and that was a lot of fun, especially for the kids! We also got to pet the sheep and hold/pet a chicken. There is a lot of room for larger groups to spread out. We had about 25 in our group and had all the room we wanted for games and the kids to run around. The toilet is a composting toilet, but it's the next best thing to a flushing toilet. Many in our group took showers and had no complaints. We had a few complaints about the parking situation (2 cars allowed at the campsite, 3 at the entrance to the farm), but we are from the suburbs with allergies to hiking/walking long distances, even on nice days. 😀 Overall, we had a great time! Myself and 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed our tent camping at Pot Belly 2 campsite. With a short 5-ish minute walk you gain access to showers and toilet. Plenty of tree cover so the afternoon sun wasn't blasting us or our tent. I would definitely recommend.

The site was just as described, our 1 night stay was good! My only feedback is to please add a description of how to find the bathroom. We arrived after dark and set up our tents with headlamps and couldn’t find the bathroom until we had daylight the next day. I was trying really hard not to shine my light into other people’s tents while I was looking for the bathroom and that meant that I probably missed it without a description of where to look.

This was a really serene campsite surrounded by trees and tons of plants. Lots of bird song throughout the day. PotBelly Two was very private and easily fit our group (6 people in one small trailer and one tent). It was a bit of a walk to the bathroom but the composting toilet was really clean and had a conveyer belt system to remove waste. There was also running water for hand washing and showering. Most members of the group didn't have cell service (but I did).

Glad to find this last minute spot in the Scrumpy Forest. The sites were spread throughout a forested area along a woodchip path. The other campers' tents were in view but mostly spaced for privacy. The bathroom was beautifully constructed and maintained. Though, because of the long walk to the sites (1000 yards pretty sure?), it was a lot of work to pack in and pack out for just one night.

Thimbleberry: Walk-In Furnished Canvas Tent
I hope more people trying to find a nice place to camp in Mount Hood discover the hidden gem. I do a lot of camping up here so I know that it’s got some things that you may not find at all campgrounds… First of all the water is magnificent! Taste, so refreshing, no chemicals, and no bottle needed. Second of all, there are showers! In the warm summer month when you’ve been out playing all day long, you’re really gonna wanna come back to camp and take a shower. And then… There’s the views and the wildflowers and the deer and the birds. This place is just a little slice of heaven.

Potbelly Two: Drive-Up Campsite
Wonderful private spot, with shade from the trees right next to it, easy loop so I didn't have to back up the trailer. Really kind people living and working on the farm, lots of awesome animals to say hi to, berries too. Near a lot of outdoor activities.

Osoberry: Walk-In Furnished Canvas Tent
We loved this stay! It was an easy, flat walk and the directions were super clear to find the tent. We were caught in some unexpected rain, but can say we stayed perfectly dry and comfortable in the canvas tent. Due to the weather we didn’t explore too much, but I’m sure we will be back!!

This place is a dream! Majestic views, wild flowers, serenity, natural beauty and showers! So very private. My family does a lot of camping and this Scrumpy Farest at the top of my list. I would like to say that it’s a bit of a walk from car to camp spot. They do provide a wagon (quite helpful) to help carry your camping gear in. Also, the well water is crystal clear and so satisfying. The host is accommodating, helpful, and friendly.

Lovely and peaceful! Hosts were very kind and friendly! Nice bathroom situation and sites were nicely spaced. Truly beautiful location with some sweet animals to say hello to! Would definitely visit again!

Osoberry: Walk-In Furnished Canvas Tent
Such an awesome spot! We got the furnished tent site and the tent was awesome! There were a few small blankets provided which I thought was super nice and thoughtful for sitting out in chairs. I slept so peacefully with the sounds of the birds. Very nice to have the wagon provided to take your stuff to your camp. I will most likely be back, the host was very sweet and provided information instantly for the campsite. My first Hipcamp experience and Paula helped to make it wonderful!
