This has to be one of my favorite places to camp. It's beautiful and quiet. Kristine has set up the camp so nicely and is so generous to provide ample firewood and water. Two tables and four rocking chairs around the camp fire ring, a swing, and horseshoes for throwing makes this the best base camp. My favorite part of this camp however, is Indian Creek running nearby. Such a treat to make breakfast and take a short walk to the creek for a day of swimming. We spent two days and nights swimming during the day and stargazing at night. Everyone agreed, it was perfection!

Kristine was an awesome host and put in a lot of work to make her site nice. The creek is a short walk away and is an amazing swimming hole. It can be hard to find the entrance to the camp but its not too bad.
I saw a mixed review which mentioned her house being visible from the site and being able to hear the road which concerned me. You can see her house from the site, but the trees are thick and it still felt very private. You can hear the road, but cars are very infrequent and there was not a single car past 9 pm in our 4 night stay.
I would definitely go back and I would definitely recommend.

We had a great stay at this Hipcamp site. It was quiet, peaceful, and offered convenient access to the water, making it easy to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The toilets were clean and well maintained, which we really appreciated. We’d happily stay here again and recommend it to others.
Kris was extremely helpful and hospitable. Loved the personal thoughtful touches such as leaving fresh water and available firewood. The space is wonderful and open with plenty of room for several families. The porto toilets were extremely well maintained and very clean. The only downside for my husband and I was that river access was much further than we thought from the campsite and not that easy to get to with no real space to hang by the river. Beautiful but not easy access. It's great value if you have more than one family but with just two of us - it's a bit on the expensive side for sure.
I've stayed at Genesee Camp multiple times now, and every single visit has been fantastic. It's one of those places I keep coming back to because it's always such a great experience.
The campsite is incredibly clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything you need for tent camping. There was plenty of shade to keep us cool during the day and several perfect spots to set up our tents. The fire pit was great for cooking our meals, and Kristine made sure we had more than enough firewood for our stay.
One of our favorite parts of the trip was walking the short distance down to Indian Creek. We found a beautiful sandy, shaded spot along the water where we spent the afternoon swimming.
One thing that really stood out during our stay was Kristine's kindness. My friend's car battery died overnight, and she came by first thing the next morning to help us get it jumped. We were so thankful that she took the time to help us out, and it really meant a lot. It's something we'll definitely remember.
I can't recommend Genesee Camp enough. Thank you again, Kristine, for sharing such a beautiful campsite and for your kindness, it made an already wonderful weekend even more special.
My family and I love camping at Kristine’s spot. We look forward to it every year. It’s simply perfect.
It was our maiden voyage in our RV and we had the dogs. It was perfect. Private quiet and easy. We had a blast in the creek adventuring and swimming. Very beautiful spot. PG&E showed up the morning we left to clear under the power lines. Not going to complain about that, we just left a little earlier than planned because of the chainsaws and cars. Otherwise complete success. Definitely recommend.
Kristine’s spot is SO perfect and everything we were looking for. We had the whole place to ourselves. The site has plenty of flat areas, perfect for pitching a tent. She provided extra water in jugs which had a spout. Made it easy to clean our dishes. She has a cute little swing and a bunch of trees surrounding the spot. Perfect for setting up a hammock. About a 3 minute walk from the site is a creek/river. We brought our paddle boards out there. Our kids and dog had the best time. It was super relaxing and we plan on coming back again in the near future.

Had a great time! Nice, private camp area. Really appreciated the provided fire wood and water. Outhouses were both really clean! We were unsure where to drive to get to the camp area but we pulled up to Kristine’s house and she explained where to go. And, Once you get down to the water it’s great- found a little beach spot to hang out for the afternoon. About a 10 minute walk or so through the woods (no guided path), and it is sunny pretty much most the way. Was nice to have water access all to ourselves- dogs had a blast!

Kristine’s land was amazing, precut fire wood, water and even fresh table cloth on the tables onsite. Private spacious and clean!!! Even had portable toilets. Made dry camping easy and comfortable. Plenty of space for tents. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Overall good experience. No need to bring water, camping stove, firewood or chairs! They provide all of that, plus a potra potty! Only thing missing is a shower, but I brought an adapter! Didn’t explore too much of the creek but was able to locate a stream. Next time I’ll have to ask where the big creek area is!
Their house is visible from the campsite, you can hear and see passing vehicles. Since the property buts up to forest service land I only saw one vehicle exploring back there so be mindful of that if your dogs like to roam.
The only thing I could suggest is having larger signs to the campsite since there’s various trails you could take and get lost….like I did until I saw the porta potties and backtracked!
Didn’t explore much of the camp site due to fishing the surrounding areas but the nights with clear skies and all the stars are well worth it!
This really is a perfect as everyone says it is. We had an ideal couple of days relaxing at the river and letting our dogs run around to their hearts’ content. Kristine is the most thoughtful host- everything you could need is there but nothing superfluous. It’s as close to a wilderness site as you would want. Just ideal.

We loved camping on Kris's property. The campsite was huge, she provided wood and water. The porta potties were very clean. The river was wonderful, our dogs who are new to camping had an absolute ball. They ran, played, played and swam in the river, and wore themselves out. It was peaceful, and beautiful. We plan to return with the whole family (17 of us). Thank you so much Kris for a great experience.
The family plus the dogs absolutely loved camping on Kristines land! The creek is not even a 10 minute walk away and has the most spectacular views. The kids enjoyed catching crawdads while the dogs enjoyed the grassy island bank. The sky at night is out of this world, we saw so many shooting stars. Kristine provided nicely stacked firewood, multiple gallons of water and answered all questions we had. Site is close enough to town that one night when no one wanted to cook, we could easily drive down the road and enjoy a local store/restaurant "Grizzly Bites" that had awesome food.
Huge property that abuts national forest land with Indian Creek only 100 yards away. The convenience to the creek is the big draw. Kids and dog had a great time splashing in the water. Kids saw trout (but sadly I didn’t catch anything).
Site is moderately wooded, away from the house and road so is quiet. Very private given the size of her property and the fact it abuts NFS land. Site had plenty of space for multiple tents and cars. Sandy layer that was deposited by a recent flood makes a comfortable nights sleep.
Owner provided tons of firewood and jugs of potable water and clean porta potties.
Note that the area burned during the Dixie fire. The property itself and the immediate area did not but some hillsides are scarred.
This was our first time camping and it was such a lovely experience at Genesee Camp. We had such a fun time and Kristine gladly guided us to camp! It was beautiful and serene. I would recommend this campsite to anyone I know. The creek was gorgeous and we even saw deer from afar! Our pup loved it too!
This place is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. It was heaven on earth for the family. Our dogs had a great time chasing dear and just exploring the space. We unfortunately had to leave a day early for personal reasons but I would come back every weekend if I could.

Kristine’s property was amazing! It’s beautiful, spacious, and private. The creek was a few min walk. There’s a town nearby where we bought ice cream and milkshakes. Our family (and very happy off-leashed dog) definitely enjoyed our stay and would come back. Highly recommend Kristine’s place!
Kristine has most perfect set up! I cannot believe it’s her back yard! It’s beautiful!!
She has a camp fire, a nice area to set up your tent, a river or water place/whole to get fresh and nice trails! She is so close to the little town where they have amazing milk shakes ! So much history and great sites! We really enjoyed it and we would definitely come back! Very family friends !

Kristine's setting was private and spacious with a wonderful river/creek near by. We enjoyed our stay there and had a short visit with Kristine who was very welcoming and hospitable.
We really enjoyed the space! It’s hard for us to go camping with my dog because she can be reactive so we chose this for its isolation and it was perfect! Went in mid June and didn’t have the wasp problem at all others mentioned. Saw lots of deer. So nice being close to the creek it was very relaxing in floaties! My dog loved swimming back n forth :) Just bring some water shoes it is very rocky.
Kristine’s site was exactly the space we wanted. No other campers nearby, the area had lots of pine trees and we still got sun and an opening by the fire pit for star gazing. She has picnic tables, rocking chairs, swing, horseshoe rings, and water for us to use.
The entrance doesn’t have a sign so slow down and look for the dirt road as described the instructions.
You have the creek available to you from the campsite about 10min walking because the water level is lower this time of year.
10min from Taylorsville town and 30 min from Antelope Lake.
Highly recommend.
This spot is so spacious and beautiful. Quiet. Peaceful. Solitude. The river is awesome. So many bird songs. The amenities were really nice- firewood, water, clean toilets, rocking chairs! Kris was super accommodating and let us borrow jumper cables.
Making a reservation at camp Genesee was very easy and organized. The host reached out to me to make sure I had good directions the day of our arrival. The camp host was also available via phone if we had difficulty reaching our destination. What really surprised us was the amenities set ahead for us, such as : potable water, wood for burning, some rocking chairs and cut logs if we did not bring enough chairs, two picnic tables and clean portable restrooms. Plenty of space for at least 2 vehicles to park and space for multiple tents. Great view of rhe sky at night, and lots of wildlife along with access to the Indian creek to cool off.
The dedignated camp area was quiet and we all felt safe. Overall a wonderful experience.

We had an extremely relaxing weekend on Kristine's beautiful land by the creek. The camp site was very thoughtfully and tidily laid out (picnic tables, water, fire wood, water bucket & shovel for fire safety), with plenty of room for multiple tents. Strolling to the nearby creek and spending the day swimming and sitting in the shade on a hot weekend was bliss. We definitely plan to return to this spot if we can.

It is a beautiful and peaceful area. Secluded campsite, you do not have neighbors close by unless you bring them. Very thoughtful setup with fire pit, seating areas, shovel, fire extinguisher and water bucket to help put out the camp fire. Nice walk to beach creek area to cool off. Plenty of shade and beautiful wild life. We definitely plan to come back.
We loved being hosted by Kristine on her property. It was perfect for us, but it could definitely host a large group. Kris had provided water, plenty of fire wood, and very clean toilets! There were lots of stars at night and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. We tent camped in early May, two people and two dogs. One of our dogs is very anxious to noises and unknown dogs and people, so it was very nice to let him off leash and not have to worry about other people or dogs nearby. Our dogs loved being able to explore and sniff everything (twice). The first night we walked over to the creek and experienced some biting flies or fleas of some sort on our dogs, but no bites on us people. Nothing that OFF didn’t fix, but good thing we had it. Be prepared for bugs and cold weather if traveling here in late spring. We will definitely book here again, so much fun!

Felt very private, camp is a 5 minute walk to the creek. We absolutely loved it. Only downside was the yellow jackets/hornets. It was just that time of year, but they were out in abundance! I would have brought some traps had I known. Other than that it was lovely!
