For everyone’s safety, campers under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult. ALL RV VEHICLES AND VEHICLES WITH TRAILERS MUST TAKE ROCK CREEK RD. (Even if your GPS says to use Mosquito Road). These vehicles will not fit and cannot cross the single-lane suspension Mosquito Bridge. These vehicles and trailers will be forced to turn around or back up to take Rock Creek Road. This private lake supports the Mosquito Fire Protection District's fire protection efforts and the firefighters of this community. Community volunteers manage the lake for the residents and the Fire Station. The primary funding source for the Finnon Lake Restoration is the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, which was signed into law in 2004 with a mission to support “efforts that improve the environmental, economic and social well-being of the Sierra Nevada Region, its communities and the residents of California,” according to its Website. Finnon Lake is also home to a popular 27-hole disc golf course and Mosquito’s only restaurant, Smoke on the Water Diner, which is open on weekends only. [xxxxxxxx]. Amazing lake, water is clear, warm and the beach areas are sandy. If it was a full weekend, I wouldn't take A7, too close to a beach area, but for a M-W, it was perfect. The highlight of the camping site was the flush toilet restrooms. Within equidistance from all sites, they were super clean and with running sink water/soap and paper towels, great for getting a good hand wash in. Each site has a great fire pit and BBQ grill. Most sites are somewhat slanted, so be prepared (bring a level!) The ground is super hard for driving in tent stakes. The sites are of good size, with cleared areas. There are a few areas of nasty sticker plants, so I hope they could get rid of those within the tent sites. So many birds to identify, even saw a Great Blue Heron. Canadian geese come back at dusk and glide across the lake. Will definitely go there again.

It was pretty and the grounds were well-maintained. Maybe because it was Labor Day weekend, but it was super loud at night u til very late, far after 10pm quiet hours. We want to give it another chance to see if it would be more mellow another time.

Finnon Lake was beautiful! Water was nice and warm, our group had a lovely time. I would say it felt a little crowded on the weekend we went. I wonder if there's not a way to set up more secluded sites along the other end of the shore or spread things out a bit. I would definitely say people should expect to be within live earshot of other campers and quiet hours are thus important.

We had a great trip. Sites were nice and big, bathrooms were luxurious, and there was lots of shade. The only things we didn't love were the slimey lake floor and the road up there.

Great camping spots. The waterfront spots are my favorite. Tons of fresh blackberries to pick around the lake. Easy to find dry wood to burn around the lake. Bass are biting at sundown. Make sure you bring everything you need food/prep wise. Closest stores are not close. If you can tune out the 24/7 construction going on nearby you’ll have a great time, it’s not too loud.

We spent these 3 days well away from the hustle and bustle of working days. A doe with a fawn and wild turkeys came to us at night. And in the morning, for breakfast, various birds flew in flocks, a furry animal watched us from a mink. We practically did not pick up smartphones. It was real relaxation in nature!

This was our first time at Finnon Lake Campground. Its was beautiful and very well kept. Bathrooms were great! I loved having lake access right at our sites. A11 had a little less shade then A9 but still sufficient. Some sites were flatter than others but the site descriptions make that clear. My only critique is that the sites aren't always very clearly marked. The marker was there but it wasn't always easy to tell where one site began and the other ends.

Beautiful reservoir with lots of birds and wildlife. The campsite was shaded by a huge oak tree, and there was access to the shore for all our water toys. The water was a lovely temperature for cooling off. Not too cold like many of the lakes in the area. The sites are a decent size but pretty sloped. The big bummer was the road construction happening nearby at all hours of the day and night. Left a day early because of all the noise. On the bright side, the rough road up there is getting fixed, and will be much improved when the work is done.

Pretty nice campsite, the lake was beautiful and nice to swim in. Other campers were singing and playing music until past midnight which was annoying. Wish there was a campsite host or similar to enforce the rules. Never had anyone check us in, not sure how they enforce reservations

The drive was no joke, but beautiful for sure! Site A7, right next to the beach, was really well shaded and close to the bathrooms. Just be aware that this makes your space a pretty popular hang out, and is directly across the lake from headlights and cafe lights at night. Other than that I was surprised at the lack of mosquitos, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the serenity of the motorless lake! Planned out next trip before we left!

Amazing place. I’ve stayed in A-12 and A -15. Both were awesome spots. Both had enough flat area to set up tents / camper. I go during new moons to reset and soak in the stars ! Ima make it a monthly thing 🌌

A3 - Lakefront
The site was perfect. Lake views.....we'll kep campground.... clean bathrooms... and a restaurant you can paddle to. 5 stars and will definitely plan another camping trip here

This campground was very clean and a beautiful setting. I only stayed one night but would definitely come back and swim in the lake
