Adventure Awaits on Corkscrew Bay at Lake Roosevelt, Washington. Camp 300 feet from the end of a bay to access the 180 mile long lake. 3 campsites nestled in the tall pines are secluded and quiet. Located 9 miles off of the nearest highway, the last 4 miles of county maintained gravel road, makes this far off of the beaten path. 3 bell disc golf course on site! Community picnic table with a view of the bay. Wildlife frequently visits and grazes on and nearby the property. Campsite have water and power hook-ups. No bathroom! Septic dump may be available with prior permission for an extra fee. No internet service available. Some cellular service may provide a little signal, but do not count on it. Between two boat launches, a 20 mile drive North or South, both 9 river miles away by boat. Fort Spokane or Two Rivers to the South with a marina, dock fuel, convenience store, Chuck Wagon and Fort Spokane Restaurant's. To the North is Hunters boat launch, Grocery, Cafe, and Bar and Grill. The Bar and Grill has live music most summer weekends. Fruitland, a few miles closer, offers the Fruitland Winery, also with live music some weekends, and the smallest Market with the most supplies from fuel and food to marine and auto parts.

Shaped by behemoth glaciers that carved out the land over 10,000 years ago, Colville National Forest is a gorgeous treasure spanning 1.1 million acres (props to President Theodore Roosevelt for saving it). The lands include a number of geographic features including the Kettle River, upper reach of the Columbia River and the Selkirk mountain range, which is considered to be at the foothills of the Rockies. Residents (including several Native American tribes) and visitors enjoy camping, nearly 500 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, lakes, rivers and some too legit to quit wildlife including grizzly bears, cougars, bald eagles and the last remaining herd of caribou in the US. Learn more about this land: We are less than five miles from the highway between Omak and Tonasket. The county-maintained road up to the 22 acre property runs through a beautiful canyon (McLaughlin Canyon). Deer, eagles, coyotes, and more wildlife (there are rattlesnakes in the area as well). Wide views all around - to the West are the Cascades. Lots of space to hike, and climbing opportunities as well. We are developing gardens and a nursery for Chinese medicinal plants, starting this year (2018). Your host can introduce you to Chinese herbal medicine. We have a nice dog.

Our stay at the winery was amazing! Staff was very welcoming and the owners take great pride in their land, I was in absolute awe of their garden and beautiful sunflowers! The wine tasting was phenomenal and we truly enjoyed the homemade dip the owners make. Definitely plan on coming back.

This place and his wonderful host is so wonderful that it’s absolutely worth making not only a detour but also add it as a target. The mountains and its views are very special and you have an amazing view. We would love to come back – but next time for a longer stay. It’s the perfect spot. The day we showed up to camp was the same day there were level 3 fire evacuations. The site was magical until then. Fearful we left at night and slept in our car the next town over. During the day when winds were down we enjoyed the spot thoroughly.

It was so peaceful. You really have to slow down when you get there. Nothing is rushed, even conversation. Such a peaceful beautiful place, took me back growing up with the hippies in the 70's. Cannot say enough about this place. The wines, the foods, the hosts, so wonderful.

3 nights at China Bend Winery Estate

We brought our tent trailer and family to stay for a 4 day weekend. The hosts were very welcoming, and the experience was not one to forget. We camped, tasted wine, participated in their Friday evening happy hour, threw rocks in the river with the kids, and overall had a wonderful stay.
