2 nights at North Wind House: Historic Cascadia
I stayed in the Willow Cabin for two nights over the Thanksgiving holiday, and it was exactly the peaceful reset I was hoping for. I arrived after 9pm, and even in the dark, the property felt welcoming with its whimsical lighting guiding the way. Reg, the host, was there to greet me and walk me through everything — from the cozy cabin setup to the full outhouse bathroom and the little kitchen area with a fridge for essentials.
The cabin itself is simple and calming, with a twin and a queen bed, both with fresh linens. Reg had the space heater going before I arrived, which was such a thoughtful touch. Since I stayed during the colder season, I was grateful I brought a heated blanket, and I’d recommend others do the same that time of year.
The water straight from the tap was incredibly fresh and delicious, truly something you don’t get in the city — just a small detail that made the stay feel even more special.
What really stood out to me was the beauty and quiet of the property. Reg genuinely encourages guests to wander and explore, and it made the whole stay feel more personal and grounding. It’s the perfect spot for anyone wanting to unplug, reflect, and enjoy a truly low-amenity, chill cabin experience.
And I have to mention this — the shower water pressure and heat were amazing. Truly a highlight!
If you know you enjoy a simple, peaceful, back-to-basics kind of stay, Willow Cabin is such a gem. I’d absolutely return.

Reg's land and cabin are lovely. He's a sweet and accommodating host :) The property feels a little magical with a walk along the river and a big beautiful tree to greet you. The record collection is fun to dig through - some real gems in there.

Reg’s hundred acre wood is a charming mix of huts and outbuildings new and old. The vegetation overgrowth and misty air conceal various construction materials and antiques around the property. Dishes and coffee are available, and the BBQ worked as long as you can squeeze into the narrow place where it’s situated. The washroom is cute, the kitchen is slated for demolition, and the cabin we stayed in was warm. Reg was enthusiastic about showing us around the property, and introducing us to the sheep.

Reg is friendly and check in was very easy. The place had everything we needed and the space heater worked very well even on the lowest setting. The area is beautiful, particularly the little grotto area down the hill. I think it's an excellent stay especially for the price.

Reg has created a very cool space on his property. We loved staying in the analogue room, it felt very private and the bed was really comfortable! There’s a cozy washroom with a clawfoot tub and hot water and a kitchen both only a few steps away.
The property itself is stunning! Lots of hiking to explore and a volcanic grotto that had some of the most incredible rocks I’ve seen. This place is magic!

Beautiful property with direct access to Sumas Mt. Very quiet. Shared washroom and kitchen were clean and well kept. Quite a comforting experience with Reg and other the tenants. Would recommend.

As other reviews said, if you stay at the tent site you will hear road noise. I was primed for this, so it didn't bother me. Reg's place was absolutely perfect for a quick spot to car camp before heading back home from exploring Baker. He and his partner Amanda were very communicative and kind. The property is clean and charming and I can tell they both have a lot of pride in it. I will definitely come back, next time to hopefully rent a cabin. Thanks again for opening your special space to others!

We had a perfect weekend away at the Analogue Room. It’s nostalgic and homey, there’s privacy, a gorgeous view, scenic artwork and a sense of community throughout the property. This experience will do wonders for the soul and your mental health. Reg is a warm and welcoming host and has a curated a space that is visually stunning, safe and inviting. 10/10.

Reg was a wonderful and thoughtful host! He was extremely accommodating, we came on a very hot day and he provided us with a box fan in the cabin. The land is beautiful and we loved talking to Reg about his connection to the land. The bathhouse and kitchen are great additions and made our stay comfortable. The cabin itself was cute and cozy.

The Analog Room is a fun, private, curiosity shop style space on a property that also hosts other guests. We slept well on the firm but comfortable mattress. We enjoyed our mornings sitting and listening to the birds in the field and distant canopy, were able to make simple meals in the well-equipped shared kitchen, and enjoyed wandering around the nearby land to some of Reg’s recommended sites.

We had an amazing time at Regs property, especially my dog who got to roam around the fields and the lava tube creek in the back. The creek water was ice cold and so refreshing to dip into. The analogue room was cozy with vintage decor, and stayed very cool inside during the day for a nice little break from the sun. Campsites didn’t seem too close to one another, and having the community bathroom/kitchen was very nice to have. And bugs didn’t seem to be a problem at all this time of year. Would definitely love to come back with a group to stay in multiple sites. Thank you Reg for sharing your property!

Weekend Trip to North Wind House: Historic Cascadia
Beautiful, fresh, and cozy. The 2 of us felt so welcomed by Reg as soon as we met! He walked us through the property, introduced us to the Cat, explained the essentials, and even offered us a bigger cabin with a loft that happened to be open, which was absolutely a treat. The location was beautiful, nestled in farmlands and facing a mountain, with everything we needed including a hostel-style kitchen and shared bathroom. It was a cool April night but we found our cabin and common spaces to be perfectly warm.
Definitely recommend checking this place out and giving Reg some appreciation for the beautiful work he has done with his property and space! We hope to come back again someday. A swim in the Grotto would be epic during the hot summer months ;)

Marvelous time at Reg’s homestead. Moon was bright and blue, stars shining, fire pit was a treat and as warm as the welcome, surrounding area vast and beautiful, Analogue Room was cozy and full of music to listen to. Thank you Reg and all, we shall return!!
