You can camp in the old tobacco bed, a few of the antiques and artifacts are on display for you to reminisce over or teach your children about. Enjoy nature, hug a tree, walk, hike, read a book by the spring fed pond, cool your feet in the creek. We are in a wooded area and a great place to Hammock Camp. Beautiful views, forested hiking trails on old logging roads are plentiful on our 125 wooded acres. Wildlife abounds in this remote setting. Other interesting features are nearby salt mines with Civil War history and a nearby farm store, Goshen Homestead, less then 2 minutes away. There you will find firewood for sale, pastured poultry products like eggs and chicken, grass-fed milk meats and cheeses, ferments, dried fruits, baking supply like grains and flour, etc. All organic and non-GMO. You will be sure to find all your breakfast, lunch and dinner needs. The town of Lebanon is about 15 minutes away. Breaks Interstate Park is within an hour drive. The site is as described. True primitive campsite with the ability to camp wherever your feet or vehicle can make it. I stayed at the furthest point past the pond. Parked right next to a babbling brook and took in the peace. He has scrap wood (dry) for fires, a workshop bathroom w/hot water. David was a fantastic host and appreciate him giving us the opportunity to stay on his land.

It has taken a while to finally camp at Nathan’s Mountain view camp spot( no 1) and we were so happy to be there. A full moon, falling leaves, total peace and quiet, it was perfect. Drinking our morning coffee watching a hawk flying across the grass right in-front of us. The camping area is as clean as a whistle . We have a 20ft ford e350 campervan conversion and we managed the track up to the site easily to site 1, probably wouldn’t have managed it to 2. Thank you .

As others mentioned, the road up to the site is steep, but my rear wheel drive camper van had no trouble with it. Once at the site I met Nathan and Anna who were just finishing cutting the grass around the site. The site sits on a little knoll with enough flat space for several tents or campers. The site was clean, pleasant, and quiet. And dark. At night we had great views of the milky way and satellites, serenades by the night insects. I recommend this spot. And, if your purpose in staying here is to visit the Channels, it is only a mile up the road.

The property is beautiful with lots of options for where to set up camp! I wish it was a little more maintained to make things easier, but we did book last minute. Camping here feels like you are super remote just enjoying sounds of nature and seeing stars. Definitely make sure you get to the place prior to sunset as there’s no signage or lights.

Very adorable rustic farm. We had a great stay, the horses were entertaining, and the nights were peaceful. Laura was lovely and accommodating. My kids got to walk and check out their mini-cows. The description said 4-wheel drive was needed for the pony pasture but I would say you need 4-wheel drive with some clearance. One section is a bit rough.

Miss Martha was an extremely nice and very friendly hostess. Her property is very clean, well maintained and in my wife's opinion adorable. She has 2 helpers, orlowa and oreo that will happily take your trash out for you, just don't ask where because orlowa doesn't even know. Lol. But all jokes aside, very nice place to stay, miss Martha is very accommodating and has many things you may have forgotten for you trip. I highly recommend it if your a first time camper like myself and I will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Big Foot Holler Camping

First off, Martha "Mammaw" is an excellent communicator. I called to let her know I has missed my turnoff, and she quickly came to lead me to the "Holler". Natural beauty and whimsical property. The camping spots are rustic and primitive. Martha offered me every amenity and even offered to fill a solar bag up with hot water if we wanted to shower. Work is being done to tidy up after Helene. Fallen trees have been cleared and the camping sites are clean. We fell in love with the history of the property. Its clear that Martha is in love with the land and is happy to share it with you. She showed us the creek where she used to play in as a child and showed my son some baby crawdads and baby salamanders. The highlight of our visit, besides Martha, was meeting Winston.....a blind senior, rescue horse. He is amazing, gentle, and patient. We gave him some carrots that we brought and quickly made friends. I didn't see any Sasquatch in the area this time, but maybe next. My son already wants to go back.

We stayed near the pond and felt it was far enough away from the neighbors to feel private. The bathroom had a wall heater that came in handy in March weather and there's a hot water shower. It checked all the boxes and I would stop in for a night in the future.
