You get there on a gravel road with 2wd as long as your car has 5.5" of clearance. (google your car) Heartstone tent site is a stunningly beautiful, romantic campsite for 2! There is a new, large tent pad if you have children! The Diamondstone site is also a unique, beautiful, one-of-a-kind site! It has a beautiful, furnished, shelter cabin is provided for you instead of using your tent!!! Leave your tent and the set-up at home! Brian has created something so incredibly special here! We stayed at Diamondstone and he has added many special touches- the electric candles, little propane stove, wooden benches and handrails.... He is also INCREDIBLY responsive! We could not figure out how to work the padlock to get into the cabin (note: the numbers must be lined up in the GREEN section of the lock) but he answered right away even though it was 10pm (second note: there is no cell service there so you have to go a ways to find it). The cabin is not insulated and the stove does not put out much heat, so if you're coming in winter make sure you have good cold weather gear. My son set up his tent outside and as we both brought winter gear we had an wonderful, peaceful time reconnecting with nature and each other. Thank you Brian for being a wonderful host and creating such a special place.

Weekend Trip to Mountain Creek Rest

I cannot recommend this campsite enough. The sound of the creek flowing right beside the site was beautiful and made the entire stay feel calm and peaceful. The campsite itself was spacious, giving my dogs plenty of room to roam off leash while still letting me keep a close eye on them. I also loved having the island trail just a few steps away for easy exploring. It was everything I needed for a simple, stress-free camping trip that still felt secluded and quiet. Perfect in every way. I hope to visit again soon!

The Islandsite is probably one of, if not the most unique and beautiful campsites I’ve stayed at. Brian communicated everything we needed to know ahead of our arrival. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend bringing everything you plan on needing before arriving as the road into town is quite lengthy.

This spot was exactly the breath of fresh air I needed. The sites were beautifully maintained, the views were stunning, and the hosts were wonderfully communicative. I ended up extending my stay—twice! I even caught the northern lights during the solar flares, which made the whole experience feel magical. Sitting beside the creek was the perfect way to slow down and enjoy the day—it added a gentle rhythm to the whole trip. The location is peaceful yet close enough to town to be convenient. Highly recommend.

We truly enjoyed our stay here! This was our second time camping at Brian’s land, and we finally got to meet him in person , he is so kind, caring, and genuinely checks in to make sure we were comfortable. He even helped guide us with some great hiking routes nearby, which made the trip even better. The campsite itself is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect getaway if you love nature. We highly recommend this spot, and future Hipcampers should know that the host is very approachable and the land is amazing. We will definitely come back again! 🌲🏕️

He also took us in for coffee and hot chocolate one morning and turned up the furnace since it got colder! If you are up for an adventure search “Cherohala Skyway” when you get into town. The heartstone site was amazing! Sure it was rainy and cold but nothing a tarp couldn’t fix. Beautiful views from the site, nice trail to walk along the river. The drive up was a breeze nothing crazy even after all the rain. Will defiantly be coming back again!

We stayed at campsite #9 and absolutely loved it. We had an open view of the field and the surrounding hills. There is a pine tree that blocks the deck of the neighboring tiny house so it felt more secluded. We took our yellow lab and he loved playing in the creek and retrieving in the field. The campground is well kept and secluded. The only negatives are minor but worth mentioning. While it’s nice being secluded, if you want to go to the store or a restaurant it’s a 30 minute drive one way. Also, the sewer connection was too high for my hose to drain without help. Again, those are minor inconveniences and definitely not a knock on the campground. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a spacious, secluded place to camp.

Nice quiet location with 3 FHU sites. Nice views during October color. Hiking trail on property and close to several parks for more hiking. Pick up your groceries at Ingles in Town before heading up. 4 Wheel drive a must. Low 4WD better. We got our 33.5 foot rig up to the site with little trouble. Graham is very responsive and helpful.

I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful this spot is. The stream, the trees, the quiet. I have camped in almost every state, and this is easily one of my favorite sites. The road in a bit bumpy, but doable. I easily made the trek in a civic. The road is also great for taking a scenic walk. The covered porch was perfect for a rainy afternoon, and the heater was a welcome addition on cool autumn evenings. Close to the stunning Joyce Kilmer Wilderness & Nantahala National Forest. I hope to come back again!

Amazing campground out in the mountains. The gravel road was a little longer than I thought but I had no issues getting up there in my lowered Mazda3. Brian was a great host and stopped by to make sure I had everything I needed. I will definitely be back again!
