Weekend Trip to Finca Monte Bahía

It was so nice to have Luis welcoming me and showing me around when I arrived. The view is amazing, it is an authentic Puerto Rican experience, complete with the neighbor singing along to his stereo system into the night. The terracing was done with clay so it does not absorb the moisture, so the spot was rather swampy. It seems installing a wooden platform could correct for that.

My husband and I had the best time camping here, we are already planning another trip back! Luis' land is beautiful and he was such a gracious host. Beautiful spot. We parked our camping van right next to the kitchen. Place was very secluded and beautiful view of the lake. Great outdoor kitchen made cooking very enjoyable

Luis was fantastic, very kind and met us when we arrived. Offered plenty of advice for the area and let us know that he was available anytime if we needed him. He also offered us fresh fruits from his garden The views were incredible, about a 30 min drive to Rincon which was very easy. Would definitely recommend this trip again.

Ive been camping 4 times in PR, at all different sites and this site by far was the best. It had plenty of tables and chairs, a huge covered area, running water and hot showers as well as both a charcoal and gas grill. We had a group of 16 and there was space for 2x that number of people. The view was amazing and the river below was a great activity for the kids (ages 2-4 in our group) although the hike up from the river (~20 minutes) was a bit of a workout. I give it a 5 star review and will be back.

Excellent stay. Luis was very polite and discreet. I had no problem with the camping area. Not far from the town, but high enough to have beautiful views and beautiful sunsets. Will be coming back! // Excelente estadía. Luis fue muy cordial y discreto. No tuve ningún problema con el área. No está lejos de lo urbano y es lo suficiente alto en la montaña para encontrar vistas y atardeceres bellos. De seguro regrese!

Weekend Trip to Mountain Retreat

It is difficult to overstate just how wonderful this place is. Andres gave us clear and concise directions on how to get there, via pre-recorded video, and that made it easy to get there. The drive itself was marvelous because for the most part you are high on the mountains. We are avid campers and brought everything we needed but have to say that the outdoor kitchen/gazebo was pretty darn cool and convenient! There is a stove, kitchen sink, a “fogón” (cooking fire pit) as well as a full size refrigerator. This was more “Glamping” than “camping”. We camp every month on full moon as I love to watch the moonrise as well as the moonset and this place was particularly special for that. As someone that grew up in Puerto Rico but lived most of my adult life outside the island, what I can tell you about the area is that the residents are extremely friendly, well manners and considerate that I am otherwise accustomed to. Everybody we saw whether driving on or driving out would wave at us, as if we were known to them. I hope you try this place and when you do, I am confident you are definitely going to enjoy it.
