The campsite is located in a private property in the outskirts of El Yunque Rainforest in the town of Luquillo. The campsite areas and facilities are about 8 out of 43 acres of all the private property of rainforest, flowers, palm trees, and various fruit trees. The Sabana River, one of many that originate from El Yunque National Rainforest, the river goes through the property. All the campsites are close by the river with each having their own access and individual fire pits. The local attractions are: -El Yunque National Rainforest 15 minute drive up the mountain. -Las Paylas rockslides (2 minute drive & 8 minutes walking). -The Luquillo beaches which are La Pared, Playa Azul, Barneario de Luquillo. We came down here from New England in 1997 because we were invited by some locals to teach hanggliding here. At that time as certified HG instructors we thought ok lets try..came down here with our backpacks, a few hang gliders, my dog Shadow and figured we would see how it worked out. Renting places to stay for a few years and including rooms for visiting students we had this opportunity to get and fix up this old house. It was a continuation of my dream to have a back pack travelers ,adventure travelers, artists, LBGTQ friendly, off the beaten path type of place to stay. Weekend Trip to Barefoot Travelers Rooms Guesthouse

We loved our stay with Keishya and Bob! They share their beautiful house in a beautiful location with a personal welcome, then privacy and freedom. Within walking distance is a nature reserve, and several restaurants as well as a beach. My partner and I also took some time to relax by their pool and love on their dog! We would both love to come back some day.

Keishya's guest house is so lovely! We stayed there for a week and it was clean, very comfortable and so relaxing. Keishya is very communicative and mindful of your needs during the stay. She provides towels, soap, and other basic needs. The town where the guest house is, Humacao, is mostly a local spot with many seafood and other types of restaurants very close. A couple places are within walking distance even. The guesthouse is located in a gated community so the beach is private and very nice. Palm trees offer spots of shade during the day. We brought our travel hammock which I would highly recommend. While we were there, there was a wind advisory so the beach was fairly choppy for our baby but still very swimmable for us! There are three rooms that are shared by a common kitchen. The bigger room offers a private bathroom and the two other rooms share a bathroom. We stayed in the bigger room with our 17 month old. There was enough space to put a pack n' play crib in the big room but not the smaller two rooms unless you moved the beds and furniture around perhaps. The kitchen is great and has all the basics you need. The nature preserve is walkable from the property and provides a lovely place for bird watching and nature strolling. There is a great overlook spot and a pretty lagoon. We loved it here and would highly recommend!

Camp Arabuko-Rancho Pavilion is beautiful and Zach and Mariah are the most gracious of hosts. It's a real camping experience in the beautiful lush rainforest!!! Swimming holes, caves and springs abound. They are actively restoring the landscape with native plantings and have many rescue animals including a very friendly cat named Indy Cat who came to hang out with us in the rancho at night. Zach and Mariah were so generous with their time and showed us around the property and farm. Carrie and I had a wonderful time!!! Mariah and Zach are beautiful people, and have put together a masterpiece the blends real camping with a touch of the right amount of accomodations. Waking up to the river flowing and the birds chirping. The animals on the grounds, the bonfires and being around awesome people made me forget all about the world. The trails, river walking, swimming holes, hiking, and trails was awesome to explore. Just a little drive and we can visit just about anywhere we wanted to go. The perfect all around balance to everything we needed to recharge the batteries. We love this place and will absolutely be returning sooner rather than later.

Absolutely picturesque, well kept property! Words can’t describe the warmth of hospitality the hosts provided, I appreciate it so much!! Even the dog was welcoming! Thank you Leo!! The room was clean, inviting, comfortable and had everything I needed to enjoy my time there. The hot tub and wrap around porch were my favorite places to take in the amazing sounds of nature. It rained most of my stay and the view & sounds from the porch allowed me to enjoy the rain. This was by far the best place I’ve stayed on the island and I will be back. Gigi & Sebastian are kind and caring, they provided me with a lovely breakfast each morning and even helped me with my bags on the day of check out. So glad I found this gem on Hipcamp! Weekend Trip to Barefoot Travelers Rooms Guesthouse

It is difficult to overstate just how wonderful our stay was. The experience is best described as a “Bed & Breakfast” at a prime beach location. While it is not ocean front, it took us a good minute and a half to get to the beach. Trails are everywhere and the host was exceptionally good at suggesting walks, trails to take, so on and so forth. We planned some activities ahead of time but had we known just how private and meticulously maintained the beach is, we would have stayed at the house and would have made our dinners in house. Keishya is an outstanding host and she even made sure we had eggs, muffins, apple sauce and a few other things. I mean, talk about the details!!!! In short, you will not be disappointed if you stay at this location. It is without a doubt the best experience we’ve had with Hipcamp and, mind you, we’ve had nothing but good experiences! It was outstanding in every conceivable way…

I absolutely loved my tent stay on Zach and Mariah's farm! I had full privacy when that's what I wanted and a beautiful river so close by! The glamping was comfortable and serene. I got accustomed to the sound of almonds dropping on the tin roof. Lol The tin roof would have been really nice if it rained but fortunately the weather was perfect for my stay. It was a perfect shelter nonetheless. Zach and Mariah are super sweet and accommodating. They showed me a gorgeous river spot. And the animals are absolutely charming 😍 I will definitely return to camp there again!

Hands down, their spot is by far the best! Not only is the campsite equipped with most everything you will need, it has a beautiful creek running around and beside it. There are hiking trails to explore on the land, natural pools to soak in with large boulders to relax on, bamboo groves and old growth trees. And the energy of the place is incredible. What we also loved is that when you’re there you feel so far away from civilization but in actuality only minutes away from food, shopping, everything you need. And with Camp Arabuko as our home base, within 15 min to 1 hour you can be at some of the most gorgeous waterfalls and swimming holes on the island!! Or even down to the coast or back in San Juan in less than an hour. This area is now our all time favorite and we will definitely be coming back to stay with Zach and Mariah, whom by the way, are amazing people and so helpful if you should need anything or have questions.. I highly recommend staying here and am already looking forward to our next visit 🌈☀️🌀💦

Weekend Trip to Finca Arabuko

Zach was a very helpful host, went out of his way to help me get to the property and show me around. A beautiful camp in the forest with a big coverd area. I love the big property with all kinds of fun trails.
