Little Riverbend farm was established in 1996 by Dave and Traci Bitler. The original property was settled sometime in the mid 1800s with the main house built sometime between 1872-1875. Through several generations the property was passed between the original owners family members, then split up and sold into lots. When the Bitlers purchased the property in 1996, the main house was sold with 3 acres and the 2 stall barn. Then in 2015 they were able to purchase an additional 9 acres of adjoining property giving them the additional pasture and woods running along the Auglaize River.Learn more about this land:Pitch your tent in a secluded site nestled between a babbling creek and pasture. The property is located just on the outskirts of the town of Portland, Indiana. It is a country feel with the nearby conveniences of town. Laundry mat, Walmart, Dollar Tree, city parks, and a variety of restaurants are within 2 miles. The property features my beautiful 1950's red brick home, and 2 restored red historic barns surrounded by farm fields. Parking is always available in front of the barns on gravel. When the ground isn't too soft, you can also park within the couple acres of open, mowed ground behind the barns. 30 amp electricity is available near the barns. New for 2025 we have our own flock of chickens and will usually have fresh eggs available. The flock includes roosters, so you may get an early morning wake up call! Leashed pets are welcome.

Enjoy camping back a quiet lane beside towering Norway and White Pines. This is a great spot for an overnight stay or a week-long visit to explore the area. Your site is located on 5 acres of wooded, rolling country side where nature abounds. Although there is a private residence nearby, you are our guests and your privacy will be respected. We are just a 10 minute walk from Cedarville University's Campus and a 20 minute walk to the Village.
We are situated near Clifton, Yellow Springs and Jamestown; the Ohio to Erie Bike Trail is less than a mile away. Down the road are the Clifton Mill and Clifton Gorge (4.5 mi.). The Museum of the Air Force (Wright-Patterson AFB), along with several Wright Brother's Historical Sites, are just a 30 minute drive away.

Site availability - April thru October
Maximum RV length is limited to 24 ft. (pictured is a 22' travel trailer with a 3' rear rack). 30 amp electric service is provided, as well as potable water to fill your tank at the site. This is a back-in, level site of crushed stone, dimensions 12 ft. wide by 24 ft. deep, with ample space for your tow vehicle. Enjoy the nearby fire pit with wood provided.
If towing, you will want to enter our lane from the direction of the Village to make the turn easier.
There is a dump site conveniently located just 3.5 miles away at John Bryan State Park ($10).

We had a great stay! The setup was a breeze, and Audrey was incredibly helpful throughout the process.
What We Loved:
Easy Setup: Setup was easy and Audrey was very helpful. The electric hookup was conveniently close, and Audrey even provided a hose extension since the water was a few yards away.
It was a unique experience waking up to the sounds of the chickens and crowing rooster. There is also an abundance of grass to hangout if that's what you're looking for.
Could Be Improved / Important Notes:
The actual spot I stayed on (15amp) was part of the rock driveway.
The turkeys are a bit curious and hopped onto my truck and camper. I was worried their talons might damage the cloth. However, after messaging Audrey, she quickly put them away which eased my worry.
Overall Impression:
Audrey was a very responsive and accommodating host. I would book again if heading to that area.

This was the perfect location for our weekend of activities. It was the perfect combination of wooded property and we'll maintained lawn for the kids to play. The hosts were friendly and available for anything if we needed anything.
