Horse Ranch-a short drive from 95

Pedro and Gracie Torres opened the 90+ acre ranch for lessons, clinics, horse shows, and more in December of 2017. Built by Mr. Goff many moons ago, Cavvietta Quarter Horse & Cattle Co. is carrying on his tradition of helping the community and providing entertainment for those of all ages who enjoy horses and/or the great outdoors!

Oak Grove Retreat

Saint Anne's Chapel and Oak Grove Retreat Center is a unique historical venue for your next camp site in the Tarboro area of North Carolina. The farm was originally established in 1832 by the Pender Family.

On the current 25 acres is a
restored 1920s Episcopal Mission Church with parklike grounds that is maintained year-round and has a rich and interesting history. We have host a wide variety of events over the years, including weddings, receptions, meetings, retreats, drum circles, sound healing's, festivals and more. Camping is available in the field or in the 17 acre woods.

Welcome to Oak Grove - a property with a 100 year old de-consecrated Episcopal church, beautiful woods, and amazing grandfather oaks. A common site for weddings, drum circles, and other metaphysical and spiritual happenings, the property has a labyrinth, a free expression chalkboard, a Zen sand box that are free to use. 

A short walk down the wooded trail brings you to a small clearing with a central fire pit and several areas suitable for a tent. Situated close to a road, traffic can be heard but easily tuned out, particularly as the road gets much quieter at night. The woods are next to a large open field that is great for star gazing.  Bring your hammock!

Privette Pointe

Once a working cattle and tobacco farm,  this land has been in our family for generations.   Experience magnificent sunrises over rolling hills,  just inside Wake County near the Franklin County border.   Two sites beside the pond,  stocked with fish,  a bridge to feed them bread from,  and a fountain to listen to as you unwind.Learn more about this land:Wake up beside the pond, listening to to fountain as you drink your morning coffee.  Fish from the bank or toss bread to the fish from the bridge.  Hike the property and take pictures of breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. 

Serenity Farm

An off-grid experience with on-grid elegance. Owned by a yoga instructor and NYC transplant, this is a dream come true. The farm was purchased to raise my children, and when they went off to college, it was converted into my dream of owning a retreat center in nature, hosting yoga and wellness events, and sharing the peace of nature with my community.It seems very rugged when you enter, but when you get to the end of the driveway, the meadows open up, to reveal a small organic garden and a firepit. We have a covered pavilion for community yoga, an onsite walking path, and access to the Mountain To Sea Trail.Learn more about this land:This is the spot for campers looking to get away into nature, without "roughing it".  We make sure that you feel taken care of when you are here...We are less than an hour from downtown Durham, Raleigh, Wake Forest, but you are totally surrounded by nature and feel that you are far far away.  There is easy access to elegant, well-stocked restrooms (hand lotion, hair ties, scented soap).  In the evening our farm turns into a magical place with twinkling lights.  We have a yoga studio, yoga events, and even a yoga+brunch.  Our property is well maintained and sprayed for mosquitoes.  There are many community gathering areas, as well as a designated area for cooking.  You can walk our new trail, hang out in hammocks (that you provide), or take the 9-minute drive to the marina for some paddleboarding, canoeing, or kayaking.  If you are in the mood for a hike we are steps away from the Mountain to Sea Trail.You may join one of our scheduled classes, or book a private class for yourself and/or your group. You may also book some time in our authentic Nordic Sauna. If you choose to order breakfast, it is served in a private outdoor area. 

Tar River Life

​Back to the basics, come and experience Tar River Life’s primitive camping on the Tar River.

Enjoy being on the river and listening to slow running sound of the Tar River. Bring your own tent or rent one of ours. You can drive your vehicle to all of our campsites.

The drive to camp is about 1/2 miles. Each site includes a fire pit, wood and trash bin. Cook your own meals or try and catch your own fish from the river. Campsites can be secluded or grouped.

Each site comes with a picnic table, 1 bundle of wood and trash can. Stay for a night or longer period of time, come and enjoy the outdoors with us. We have lots of walking trails, fishing access, wildlife, kayaking and tubing (must be purchased through us). 2WD vehicles are ok except during wet conditions.

There is also the Vollmer Farm, with seasonal produce a Full Coffee Shop with breakfast goodies and baked goods and not to mention their fabulous ice cream. They have goods from around NC including, eggs, honey, meats, beers, wine and more. There is a grocery store (Food Lion) about 15 minutes away. So you can stock up on supplies on your way to your next adventure.
