The Spotted Sandpiper

The land that became our property was once owned by the King family. (i.e. Kingtown Beach Road) In the 1970s it was a marina developed by the Fulton family, with 4 small tourist cabins on the hillside above the water. Two more families loved and cared for the property before our family purchased it in late 2018. We're are delighted to share the beauty of Cayuga Lake with guests from all over the United States and the world, and hope to welcome you soon to The Spotted Sandpiper! Situated on 4 acres and with 400’ of secluded frontage on Cayuga Lake, The Spotted Sandpiper is the largest private lakefront vacation rental property in the Ithaca area. We’re nestled at the end of a private road, but only 7 minutes from Trumansburg, 3 1⁄2 miles from Taughannock State Park, and 20 minutes from Ithaca. We're conveniently located along the Cayuga Wine Trail!We are perfect for family reunions and wedding party rentals, families traveling together or friends looking for a week or weekend away! Heart's Desire

'Hearts Desire' is our name for the camping sight of your choice on our organic dairy farm known as Bundy Creek Farm.  Our family has been farming this land since the depression era when our ancestors moved east from California during a drought and were enamoured with our green rolling hills and abundant water resources. In all, this land is the backdrop of the story of five generations of the Murray family.  Through good times and bad, our dairy cows have been the backbone of the farm, grazing on the mostly hillside pastures.  Forages and grains are grown in the valley and hilltops, all surrounded by hardwood forests or wooded swampland; all together encompassing 775 acres of land.  Maple syrup is also often made from our top of the hill sugarbush.  And yes.....a river runs through it.....or actually several creeks....Learn more about this land:Nestled among the rolling hills that are the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, our organic dairy farm is the backdrop for this camping experience.  Tell us what is your 'hearts desire" and we will accommodate you as best as we can on our 800 acres which encompasses hundreds of acres of woodland, pasture and crop land, creeks and a 80 acre navigable swamp (seasonally).  Wildlife abounds with deer, coyotes, turkey, fox, geese, ducks, small mammals and an occasional eagle.  Hike, bicycle, kayak or just chill in the beautiful surroundings.  We are also two miles from the finger lakes trail.  Currently available for tenting only

Camp Earth Connection

Camp Earth Connection offers a relaxing stay with a variety of camping options including Log Cabins, Rustic Cabins, AdirondackLean-To's and Tent-Sites.  Each site has privacy, picnic tables and grills or fire pits.  Camp Earth Connection is an alcohol & drug free facility, offering guests the opportunity to connect with nature and each other in a serene and beautiful natural setting.   The Hammond Hill trail system, which offers hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing connects to the 950 mileFinger Lakes Trail system.  Wildlife is abundant in the area. It is common to hear the Coyotes and Owls throughout the day.  In addition,Mink, Fishers, Bald Eagles, Turkey Buzzards, Porcupines, Raccoons, Skunks, Wild Turkeys, Ravens, Grouse, Red and Grey Fox and an occasional Black Bear are some of the inhabitants of the local forest.

Guests can choose to have some peaceful alone time or be more engaged in our small community during our community campfires, campfire pancake breakfasts or workshops.  Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Camp Earth Connection offers a variety of activities and workshops such as:

-Saturday Morning Campfire Pancake Breakfast.
-Saturday Evening Community Campfire.
-Thursday evening, Earth Movie night, (movies about the Earth and Sustainable living) followed by a campfire discussion.
-A variety of workshops are offered periodically led by Eshay & CEC staff and interns including: Fire making in Nature; Eshay's Tree Walk; Animal Tracks and Signs - Guided Trail walks, and more. All workshops and activities are free but donations are welcomed.

Camp Earth Connection values Diversity, Acceptance and Community.  It is more than just a campground, it is an experience that can be life-changing.  Guests enjoy making meaningful connections with hosts, guests, family & friends.  In addition they experience the beauty and healing that is provided by this sacred natural environment.  Camp Earth Connection is open to everyone and provides an accepting and safe space for folks who can't always count on that, including the LGBTQ community, People of Color and other culturally diverse individuals, families and groups.

Rashid Fields Farm

This is a family farm on 48 acres, with access to hiking the snow mobile trails that run over a couple of hundred miles. We have horses and alpacas to pet and visit, a few sheep and chickens, and a couple of Scottish Highland Cows. Close drive to swimming, hiking, shopping and museums. Away from the city, cozy and country. Come out and visit! Learn more about this land:This is a family farm on 48 acres, with access to hiking the snow mobile trails that run over a couple of hundred miles. We have horses, sheep and cows to pet and visit, a few ducks and chickens, and a rabbits. Parking is at the house, walk in to campsite. If you need help, we will gladly load up the tractor and escort you to the sites.Swimming at a state park/lake is a 5 mile drive, and there are other hiking trails within about a 20 minute drive. You can pitch a tent of your own, or borrow one of ours here by the house, or further out by the creek. Each campsite has a fire pit for your use.Restroom is available just inside the house if needed, and potable water is available via pump or hose outside the house or at the barn. We have a couple of dogs on sight, and we like to visit with folks - let us know if you want to socialize or not and we'll respect that. Your dogs are welcome, but please keep them leashed. Chickens like to run away, and dogs like to chase them. If you are traveling with horses, please contact us! We can provide turn out or possible stalls for you, if your shots are current (proof required). *fees apply depending on requirements.

Caballine was built in 1996, by family & friends,our barns were built by us,as well as our stalls and most everything you see here! We feed organic hay only,1st or 2nd cutting, we prefer you provide your own grain during your stay. Fresh water is provided at all times, tacking and grooming service available, as well as many other extras!! Now for your accommodations: we have a private cabin, located on the property. Wood stove for heat & cooking(wood provided) cabin is very spacious and can comfortably sleep up to 8, more if you are comfortable with doing so. Cabin has a very spacious downstairs, couches, dining table, cupboards and counter, there is a full upstairs with a drop down ladder ,that  is the sleeping quarters.(please bring your own cots/air mattresses/sleeping bags/pillows and so forth).Camping here is semi primitive, there is an outhouse, complete with a  light! You have the choice of using lanterns or we will set up the power inverter for you!! (With the power inverter you can watch DVDs,& movies, as well as have electric lights throughout the cabin. You can either hike to the cabin, or we have transportation for you and your equipment. Campfire area, and peace and quiet!! The serenity of the area is wonderful, it is truly a place where you can get away from it all. We have miles of marked trails on the property, as well as access to miles and miles of state land, you can choose to trail ride with a guide or by yourself(we have maps) if there is a specific area you would like to ride at,we have equine transportation available as well!! Please bring your own food water, and anything you will need! We have the horses covered. Camping your way with your beloved equine partner. We offer custom accommodations as well!!
