Vegan, vegetarian, kosher, low-sodium, and most other dietary restrictions are no problem! We'll bake you a birthday cake, brownies, pie, or even Crème brûlée! We have a grill on our back deck with seating area and an hot tub in the back yard. Our front deck has a 2 person porch swing where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. As frequent Airbnb guests we feel we have provided a great place for you to stay.

House:
We look forward to sharing our cabin, The Treehouse with you. We purchased and renovated this cabin as a full-time vacation rental and as a place for my husband and me to stay when we visit our daughter and her family. We have been coming to Ruidoso several times a year since they moved here. We love the beauty of the mountains and wildlife and look forward to sharing that with you.
Outside:
We have 2 seating areas outside, 1 on the front deck and another on the back deck in addition to a gas grill and a hot tub.
Parking:
There are 2 parking spots in the driveway.
Sleeping Areas:
The house sleeps up to 4 people, a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper couch in the living room. We also have a pack-and-play upon request. There is a small 4-drawer dresser and a closet with plenty of hangers to store your belongings. In addition to the mini-split heater in the living room there are 2 space heaters for the bedroom and the bathroom for the cooler months. For the warmer months the mini-split also has and air conditioner setting and there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. We provide all pillows and bed linens.
Bathroom:
We have a full sized bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We provide towels, soap, lotion and toilet paper plus a blow dryer, iron, ironing board and luggage rack located in the closet which is also in the bathroom.
Living room:
Sink into our comfy couch or chair while watching tv or reading a book. We provide a phone charging station on the side table next to the couch. There are a variety of games which you can find on the side table by back door.

The kitchen is fully equipped for you to cook

We have a nest camera installed in the front of the cabin that can not only see anything in the front, but can also pick up your conversation.

Hammocks are provided at all rentals except the Countryside Getaway, with an additional hammock available near the cabana. Each rental includes a charcoal BBQ. We purchased and renovated this cabin as a full-time vacation rental and as a place for my husband and me to stay when we visit our daughter and her family. We have been coming to Ruidoso several times a year since they moved here. We love the beauty of the mountains and wildlife and look forward to sharing that with you.

We have 2 seating areas outside, 1 on the front deck and another on the back deck in addition to a gas grill and a hot tub.

There are 2 parking spots in the driveway.
Sleeping Areas:
The house sleeps up to 4 people, a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper couch in the living room. We also have a pack-and-play upon request. There is a small 4-drawer dresser and a closet with plenty of hangers to store your belongings. In addition to the mini-split heater in the living room there are 2 space heaters for the bedroom and the bathroom for the cooler months. For the warmer months the mini-split also has and air conditioner setting and there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. We provide all pillows and bed linens.
Bathroom:
We have a full sized bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We provide towels, soap, lotion and toilet paper plus a blow dryer, iron, ironing board and luggage rack located in the closet which is also in the bathroom.
Living room:
Sink into our comfy couch or chair while watching tv or reading a book. We provide a phone charging station on the side table next to the couch. There are a variety of games which you can find on the side table by back door.

The kitchen is fully equipped for you to cook

Nestled in the picturesque Scott Able Canyon of the Sacramento Mountains in Southeastern New Mexico, Southern Rockies Camp and Retreat Center stands out as a unique destination for individuals and groups of all ages. The camp's history dates back to 1948 when a dedicated committee of County Extension Agents and 4H State Leaders sought the perfect location for a camp site. They prioritized essential features such as ample water supply, a level play area, and accessibility. After thorough exploration and collaboration with the Forest Service, Scott Able Canyon was chosen for its abundant safe drinking water, thanks to a free-flowing spring that has served the camp well over the years.
Fundraising efforts began in April 1949, and by June 2, enough funds were raised to start construction, led by Mr. Ray Matterson of Alamogordo. The community rallied together through various events like pie suppers, carnivals, and dances, with the New Mexico Co-op Improvement Association making the largest single contribution of $1,000. We had such a wonderful stay at Camp Rio! The river is gorgeous. The bath house was spotless and warm, and the hot shower felt heavenly after a day outdoors. The camp hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the pavilion facilities were great.
We’re already looking forward to coming back—next time to rent a cabin! Thank you for such a great stay.

Chef Udo’s property was a wonderful experience. The setting is peaceful and welcoming, and the food is absolutely delicious. Every meal is prepared with care and incredible flavor—you can really feel the passion behind it. We had the brisket nachos, brine chicken, chocolate cake, and cookies. A truly memorable stay and a must-visit for anyone who loves great food and warm hospitality. Chef Udo was genuinely happy to make sure everyone has a good time. He let us play with his glow in the dark bocce ball set, while waiting for dinner.

My stay at the smokehouse was genuinely a once in a lifetime experience. Chef-Üdø was SO accommodating, communicative and welcoming; the property felt well cared for and safe. And his food was absolutely unreal…where else can you have a world class steak dinner (followed by a warm cookie) underneath the stars?! I will remember this night for a long time!!

Camping on Chef's property was a unique experience. As you might expect, he is a great cook, and it is rare to have a hot meal served to you when camping. It can be a bit of a challenge to coordinate the timing if you don't know when you might be getting into camp, but things worked out OK. He is a knowledgeable host with a clear passion for the outdoors.
There are no regular camp sites in white sands NP, so this is about as close as you can get and there are other recreational possibilities in the nearby mountains. Chef has great plans for improvements to his site, such as a shower building, and he has a glamping tent available, but for now I had to make do with a shared table in contrast to other hosts that tend to offer individual picnic tables. There is a bathroom tent, but fires were not permitted when I was there. Much of the camping area is bare dirt.
When I was there in winter the weather was mild with some wind, but I am told it can be more windy at times.
Noise is a concern, there is noise from the road although it will die down late at night, noise from trains, and noise from roosters owned by nearby neighbors. On the positive note, I was able to observe a rare missile test at night with an interesting exhaust tail. Bringing ear plugs may help.

red rock retreat was gorgeous! we arrived after sundown but the full moon was bright enough for us to see without headlamps.
the road coming in was pretty rough, we made it through but it was kinda scary while driving on in our 25 ft class c RV. just a heads up, go slower than you think you need to!
however the views were perfect and we loved our stay. can’t wait to be back! thanks!

Camp Rio was awesome! The staff were so welcoming and were happy to share great information about the area to make our stay great. It was wonderful to wake up each morning to the wildlife, and the peaceful river right in front of us. The bathrooms there were fantastic! Overall, it was a great experience, and we are so thankful we found this place for a get away into nature for the New Year!

Regan’s land was convenient to White Sands National Park and nearby town for necessities. The area was cleared, flat, with picnic table and a fire ring. The road to get there is long and bumpy but that’s to be expected given the location. The view of the mountains is beautiful. We camped in a ground tent there for one night, it was all we needed! I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

An awesome site extremely close to Oliver Lee Memorial State Park, Alamogordo, and White Sands. It was a great combination of remote and private while still being a short drive to any destination. The site provided a picnic tabe, fire barrel, hammock rack and portable toilet. There were excellent views of the sunset, sunrise and night sky. I highly recommend it and will be returning on future trips.

We loved our time at Reeve's place! The space is very homey, nestled in the trees, and although it was nearly full we felt like our site was private. The restrooms were spotless and each has a very nice shower. Midtown Mountain is located close to several restaurants, a grocery store, and hiking trails are easily accessible. Reeve was full of information about the area. We absolutely will be back if we return to Ruidoso. Thanks for a great stay!

Fabulous. Super cozy, has everything you need. Neighbors totally get the chill vibe — no noise, no drama. Really private, clean, well-equipped, and just 20 minutes out on a smooth road to the nearest town. Views are insane. 10/10 would stay again.
