You will be camping on historic property- the place where the women and children hid during the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Your campsite faces Sharpshooter Ridge. This valley area was the home of Wellknown Buffalo, a medicine woman and activist who protected and fed Native families traveling along the river between reservations. Learn more about this historic land: You'll pitch your tent on the Crow Indian Reservation in the historic valley just below the site of the Battle of the Little Big Horn. This area was part of the battlefield where the women and children camped. Campsites are in view of Sharpshooter Ridge. This business is owned by Native Americans. You will be staying near the Wellknown Buffalo Living Culture Campus and Artists Coop. The property has a gate that is closed at night. You'll find a cafe/coffee house, gift shop, horse activities, bathrooms and showers, and a gathering porch. If you’re looking for a truly unique camping experience while visiting the Little Bighorn Battlefield, this is the place. Just a short distance from the battlefield itself, the campsite is located where more than 2,000 Cheyenne once camped, and where women, children, and elders remained during the historic battle. Staying here offers a rare opportunity to connect with the land and its sacred history. While the site is close to I-90 and the railroad, you won’t find a camping experience this close to the battlefield—and with this much historical significance—anywhere else.

We absolutely loved staying there! If you want to be "in the city area" without the normal city camping, check these folks out! Robert and Anne were so kind and accommodating! There was also a boondocker in the back, we had the full hookup, other than a occasional "hello", it still seemed super private.

Peggy and Mila were so welcoming and generous during our stay. The experience with them at their camp as they set up for Crow Fair was truly a once in a life time experience! The tipi was great and we really enjoyed learning about the history and culture of the Crow from the stories everyone shared. They went above and beyond in accommodating us and we would love to come back to stay anywhere with Peggy and Mila again!
