This is an off-grid glamping cabin. The parking area is just down the hill from the cabin. It's a short walk up to the cabin, you will need to across the foot bridge over the creek and up a few steps to the cabin. The terrain on the property could be muddy or loose at times. Always watch your footing. There is no running water, but there is an 8-gallon jug over the sink for drinking and washing. Extra water available for longer stays. Composting toilet outhouse behind the cabin. Compost toilet bucket is cleaned out after every guest. Propane hot water shower is only available in the warmer months (usually April through October). The cabin is powered by a small solar panel setup. Please do not plug in any personal devices. They could damage the electrical system or overwork it. We bought our land in 2004 for riding and getting away. Built a cabin for us and our 6 children to stay in, when we came riding.  We have been told that these hills were once used as strawberry farms. We still find wild strawberries growing. The hills we ride and hike in, were once used by Jessie James and his gang.  They robbed the local bank in Pineville, MO.  And the first Jessie James movie, filmed in 1939, with Tyrone Power as Jessie James and Henry Fonda played Frank James.

Weekend Trip to Explore the Ozarks - Dockley Ranch

The farm was wonderful. Was visited by goats and an alpaca also several very friendly dogs hung out with me while stargazing. Myke and Claire are wonderful hosts! Very much appreciated the warm cabin this cold December weekend! The hilltop/hammock area has an amazing view of the night sky. So happy to have watched the 2025 Geminids from here and would totally stay out here again.

Weekend Trip to Red Fern

We chose the glamping option which I would recommend. When we arrived, our tent was fully set up with a double high queen mattress, cooking and eating utensils, paper towels, toilet paper, and bottled water. Since the weekend was suppose to be cold, there were tons of blankets and even a propane powered heater provided. The site we were at needed a little more tender, loving care as it was a fresh, new site, but was in a beautiful spot overlooking a lovely, blue swimming hole. The sounds of the river/creek and our crackling fire were magical. Due to unforseen circumstances, (and unexpectedly frigid weather that we were not completely prepared for) we had to cut our trip short, but Sam and Michelle were completely understanding. We love visiting Arkansas and the property was beautiful, especially with the fall leaves in full color. I would definitely recommend this spot and would come back in the future. Also, the directions were clear and easy to follow and any questions or concerns were promptly addressed.

This cabin and location are perfection. The amount of well-honed craft that went into building the cabin and its outbuildings like the shower and outhouse are stunning, but so, too, the thought that went into making a comfortable space for guests. The mini-fridge and the large amount of water in the kitchen were so welcome. The meandering trails made my dogs so happy as we walked them several times a day. Even the light fixtures are worth gazing upon. I left here rested and restored.

Wonderful peaceful secluded getaway. This cozy cabin was just what was needed. The kitchen had the necessary items for stove top meals. The bed and linens where comfortable for a good nights sleep. A well kept outhouse. And a nice porch to sit in nature or if rain or cold a big window so you can sit inside and not feel too removed from the outdoors.

Cabin was large, two bedrooms, couch and loft. Every was very clean and well stocked. Staff is helpful and the park is cozy. Water had sulfuric smell, it’s like mineral water coming out of the faucet 😜

This was my second time staying at this property! Always a wonderful visit. I wouldn’t have thought it could get better than the first time but somehow it did. Claire & Myke are so kind and are excellent hosts with a beautiful property that has so many thoughtful fun details! Great for exploring!

2 nights at Lost Valley View Cabin

Spectacular view, cozy, private. It was a great stay and so much to do around Buffalo River and other state parks. Eden Falls is an absolute must! Just don't take Stoverville Road all the way! We did & it was great but only if you have a 4WD truck or other off-road vehicle! Newton County is a dry county so if you like adult beverages, bring your own. Same with food, bring enough and any special condiments. Ronald supplies cookware, etc. Comfy bed too!

A very special place. The swimming holes were so amazing. Definitely need 4 wheel drive to park by your site which we had. Only downfall was a very large group showed up our last day and night and it was close and loud. No fault of the owners, maybe just check to see if any large groups coming in before you book.

Weekend Trip to Red Fern

The views here are spectacular, without a doubt. We were at Site #1, closest to the Public Swimming Hole. Ask for a different site if you're looking for listening to less people... It's a busy place. The outhouse at the site was not operational; a tent was jammed into it and a new seat laid on top. We chose not to walk past another campsite to use those porta potties. Be prepared for humidity in the heat of the summer. Put up your fire starters, matches, etc so they don't get wet. The rug inside of the tent smelled like dogs. Personally would replace for the price per night, but it was bug free and we were glad for that. Lock up your food at night, as there are nighttime guests. We named our young raccoon friend Reginald and shared fruit with him. Overall a great stay.

Weekend Trip to Campfire Retreats

Absolutely beautiful camp site. Camper was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a fun addition and the area was very nice to hike. We saw some wildlife on the trail. Matt was easy to work with. Definitely would stay again.

Weekend Trip to Homestead At Rocky Acres

Perfect little cabin for a weekend in the woods! It’s close enough to town to drive in for shopping, etc but feels super private and secluded once you’re there. The cabin was clean, cool, and comfy and we loved the fire pit! Thanks for a great stay!

Weekend Trip to Roaring River Campground

Tents were clean and well outfitted, as were restrooms. We should have brought battery powered fans however, as it was miserably hot even though the front of the tent/porch was shaded. We’ll have to try again in the fall or the spring…. Maybe power to the tents for guests to bring fans, or provide something solar-powered? Overall though a pleasant stay.

1 night at Explore the Ozarks - Dockley Ranch

The cabin was well put together, and my family loved the charm of the ranch. Having a hot outdoor shower was wonderful. Even as a family of 6, it seemed like there was plenty of extra room to move around the cabin when needed. The kids loved the experience, and the parents were more than satisfied. Our only gripe is that we didn't plan more time to explore. Next time we'll have to stay a couple days at least!

Red’s place was perfect for me! Beautiful natural setting surrounding the Silver Stream trailer, private covered patio, and close to amenities in town but still far away from town to feel like you “got away.” Red was attentive to my questions and was the best host!
