Off leash is fantastic as long as your good with it. Lots of room to run. Jon boats with motors, Kayaks and ATV's always ok. Large stretches of sand bars when water permits. Not far from I-20. Great cell reception. Good restaurant down the road in Bovina. Loves truck stop just down the road. The existing road going in "Vickors Rd" can be bumpy, dusty, wet and may hold pools of water at times but the road itself is solid and will support the heaviest of vehicles.

Loved our stay! Took my son tent camping and thoroughly enjoyed the campground. Jon is an amazing host and made sure our stay was top notch. The sites were clean, well taken care of and the scenery was fantastic. We didn’t pack any fishing gear on this trip, but we will definitely remember to pack it the next time we visit. I highly recommend this campground to anyone who wants a nice, peaceful camping experience.

I arrived later than scheduled and they still greeted me immediately and got me to my prime real estate (right next to the pool). Super helpful. The property is well designed and tucked away from the world. A lake to fish from, a pool, a pavilion, 2 dog parks, a store. I just started my RV journey and have been to a few spots. This place exceeded my expectations. A must stop in Mississippi, along the I-20.

After several days on the road, I pulled into Black River completely worn out and overstimulated—just looking for somewhere to hide out and decompress. This place was exactly what the doctor ordered.
Scott was a fantastic host, and the site itself is private and peaceful. If you're someone who needs quiet to recharge, this is your spot.
The real bonus for me was the huge open field. My dog was able to run, play, and burn off days' worth of pent-up road-trip energy—which meant we both slept well that night.
I wasn't able to take advantage of the fishing this trip, but the river is right there and the opportunity is outstanding if that's your thing. There are also hiking trails through the woods if you want to explore.
Honestly, this place checked every box. Private, quiet, dog-friendly, with water access and trails if you want them—or just peace and space if you don't. Definitely one of the top spots on my list for a return visit.

Awesome host! Sometimes when you pull up late at night, you never know what you’re going to find. Scott was there to greet us and do everything he could to make sure we were comfortable. It was cold, rainy and he went above and beyond.The directions were easy and helpful. The campsite was incredibly spacious, easy to pull through and hookup to electric/water. No issues whatsoever and very simple to do yourself and in the dark which is why Scott’s assistance was even more notable. We would stay again and would recommend!

Plenty of room for running and ball games. We had a nice fire. Didn't get to try the gem mining b/c we ran out of time. The area was great for walking. Overall great stay!

There is a beautiful lake on site where campers can fish and hike, and the place is super clean, quiet, and secluded. The amenities are super clean and pleasant. Overall, a great experience. Scott was very respectful, and we felt safe at Black River Campsite. He was very committed to making the camping experience a good one. The road coming in is a bit bumpy and tough in a vehicle with low ground clearance, but not impossible. Just gotta take it slow. The site was perfectly level and good for a car camper. Showers were awesome, warm, and he keeps things very clean! Gorgeous views too and nice little hiking trails, fishing spots.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The site was flat and easy to get in and out of with my trailer. The shower house and bathroom facilities were well maintained and clean.
The location is beautiful and the dog park was such a great bonus. My furry kids loved to have a place to run art and blow off some steam.

Everything went well! It was an easy in and easy out location. All the hook ups worked great. Hosts were friendly and helpful, but gave you privacy, as well. Property was landscaped beautifully with gorgeous flowers and surrounded by forest. Site was level. It was just an all-around great place to stop!
