Queen bed upstairs & downstairs a fold down couch & camp mat for 4th person , with all Linens provided . Partly run by a generator, heat will be supplied by a space heater that we would like turned down to 66 at night (heating blankets provided if that is too cold). . Bathroom has a composting toilet. (Usually changed every 3rd guest). Ac is hooked to an extension cord . We provide a Battery pump shower where you have to fill the bag with water & foot pump sink like used at festivals. The shack isn’t perfectly air tight so you might encounter a few bugs however with Chickens around they are natural bug exterminators. Ceiling height it just at 6 ft meaning those taller than that need to Duck under beams. Please beware. *summer info : Lake can only be viewed from the upstairs of shack due to tall reeds or by way of walking path which is still under construction partially handmade from scrap lumber . It’s about 2/3 complete with newly built dock, sections (see pics). The path is usually partially underwater until mid May so please check if you plan to kayak you will use at your own risk. *:It’s too mucky to swim right off shore but you can Kayak out to the swimming area. Kayak use is allowed as long as waiver is signed. Closed toed/water shoes recommended . Potential for 4 guests which is tight, or more if part of your crew wanted to set up a tent. *Fall/winter info: Use of our guest bathroom is permitted during colder months -just ask!. Lake Shawood is a beautiful, natural spring-fed, non-motorized lake that primarily borders the City of Novi's exquisite Lakeshore Park. Lakeshore Park has everything from playgrounds for very young children and older children, to picnic pavillions and a sandy beach, and miles of hiking, running, and biking trails. We fell in love with this property the second we walked behind the old cottage. I love nature and being outdoors, especially hiking and biking. We are still making improvements on the land with a small garden, which you are welcome to enjoy during your stay. Our big-picture vision is to renovate the old cottage and live in it. This property is about 1/3 of an acre and has 1 large old oak tree and garden beds with flowers, herbs, and vegetables. (You can help yourself to any of the fruits or vegetables that are ripe) We are on an old smaller home/cottage-style small residential street. Please keep in mind, that this is a spot for family and friend fun with the awareness of keeping it a sanctuary space for the neighbors as well. Enchanting Lakefront Camping Site Pitch your tent and bring your family and children to our exquisitely beautiful site. The property sits on Shawood Lake, a non-motorized private waterfront site. There’s plenty of room to park your car, pitch a tent, enjoy a campfire, and the beauty of all types of birds (swans, geese, ospreys, and the occasional bald eagle), and animal life. The sunsets in this area are breathtaking. Take a short 30-second walk and enjoy Pavilion Shore Park, a family-oriented park with a playground, swimming, fishing pier, and waterfront seating of Walled Lake. You’ll also find public restrooms which are open until 10 pm through the summer and a restaurant across the street. We also have a portable camping toilet with a nice pop-up tent for privacy. Julie was a fantastic host! She checked in after our first night to see if we had everything we needed. We spent a weekend here as part of a greater road trip cross-country and we had a swell time. The views of the lake are gorgeous and the loft sleeping accommodations were super cozy! After we left we realized that we left some near and dear prized possessions (a special hat and one single ear bud) and Julie was kind enough to reach out and then mail these items to us! We are super thankful and do kindly recommend staying

Weekend Trip to Tiny Love Shack Off Grid Glamping

I really enjoyed my stay at Julie’s B52 “Love Shack.” My dog and I felt right at home. Julie provided everything we could need. The upstairs was so relaxing and peaceful. The outside grill and zero gravity chairs were perfect for enjoying a delicious meal and providing front-row seats to view the stars and moon. The outside shower was an experience and a first for me. I mistakenly thought I had put enough water in there, but ran out with my hair covered in shampoo. Luckily, I was able to rebound pretty quickly and enjoyed an ice-cold shower on an extraordinarily hot day for October. Overall, this place and space offered me exactly what I was looking for, and I look forward to revisiting it soon.

Weekend Trip to Treasure Hunt Treehouse

1st let me say, that treehouse was not what we expected. Huge size, very spacious and fully accommodating. We didn't need anything. A perfect host. To be surrounded by woodlands, we didn't get harrassed by many bugs and true to word, that port-a-john was immaculate. My new husband and I had the best honeymoon. The tree house was right above the road and you'd think the traffic would be a bother, but it wasn't and in the treehouse you only heard the wind, the tree, and acorns being thrown by squirrels. Peaceful & natural. Sam was a pleasure to meet and bond with. Very friendly and even asked if we need anything from the store on her way home. She's a true Gem. The beds in the treehouse were spacious and comfortable. Very cozy. We will be returning.

We absolutely loved our stay on Michael’s land! We stayed at Site 9 so we had a very secluded spot with an amazing view. It was very quiet and peaceful. The only downside was it was quite a walk back and forth to the porta potty, something to keep in mind, but we didn’t mind the walk, it was nice scenery to walk through.

We stayed at the tiny love shack for our yearly camping trip! We are a small family of 3 and it was perfect for us. We felt like we were in another land surrounded by cat-tails and nature. And chickens! 🐓 Julie had everything anyone would need to camp! All of the little details were so sweet and thoughtful. We had a fire for 3 days! We discovered that if you smolder fuzzy cattails it works as an insect repellant. Like insence. I even tried to weave a basket. We brought my dog and she loved sleeping in the cabin. This was our first time trying hip-camp and we will be using this app for all of our future family get aways!

Cute lil cabin feels pretty secluded has a nice lil fire pit. Upstairs loft bed was pretty comfortable ladder 🪜 could be a challenge to some to get up and down but overall not bad. We did take the kayaks out but the lake was pretty low so couldn't go out too far but still fun 😊 We would recommend staying here for the price it's definitely worth it.

Weekend Trip to Tiny Love Shack Off Grid Glamping

The shack is a beautiful little get away for couples, we had a great time and lots of stuff to entertain you for a few days around the area. I wouldn’t really suggest kayaking off the pier though, at least this time of year. Lily pad and muck makes it impossible to get to the beach area, seemed like lack of rain probably played a factor. It’s a beautiful place though and we had a great time.

4 nights at Treasure Hunt Treehouse

I really enjoyed our stay in the treehouse. It turned out that we arrived at midnight, and the treehouse was beautifully lit up, and Sam had provided a bowl of snacks and pitcher of water, which was much appreciated. We had coffee every morning on the porch or by the firepit, and listened to the birds. The property is filled with trees and is very lovely. Portapotty was super clean. Sam was a proactive host, making sure we had everything we needed. She even offered to make us breakfast one morning (but we didn't take her up on it). It was quiet at night, and I slept very well. One night there was a big thunderstorm, and a few drops of rain fell inside the treehouse, but it was no big deal, and an info binder in the treehouse had provided a heads-up about potential raindrops. This property has plenty of activities for kids (although we were two adults). Sam's absolutely adorable and very well-trained dog occasionally hung out with us. The larger area provided lots to do (by car); we loved Wamplers Lake and also Cherry Creek Cellars, a winery. Sam's property is relatively close to the road, and cars regularly go by during the day. While the property is on a hill above the road and surrounded by trees, you'll hear the cars. That was no big deal for us, but may disappoint anyone looking for total silence. As we were leaving, Sam brought us homemade blueberry muffins! Thanks for a lovely stay!

1 night at Tiny Love Shack Off Grid Glamping

Had a fantastic stay at the Tiny Love Shack! Julie was very responsive and easy to get ahold of. We ended up taking the kayaks out to the lake and it was so fun! The inside was clean and well taken care of. We slept super well; it was a nice, quiet area. We were in town for a small conference at MSU and it was super close by and easy to get to. Only about a 15 min drive from campus. Will definitely be back again!
