Espri and Darren began Brambleberry Permaculture Farm in the fall of 2003 in the beautiful hills of southern Indiana. We are primarily a plant nursery, but also offer permaculture landscaping and farm consultations. We usually have cows, chickens and rabbits, but are currently taking a break from cattle to build better fences lol. We occasionally have peacocks, ducks, pigs or other livestock as well.

We're bringing my family farm back to life. My parents farmed here until the 1980's, but couldn't make a profit with corn and soybeans. My husband, Nate, and I moved home in 2014, and started turning the fields into pastures. Today, we run Nightfall Farm, raise animals with respect, and sell pasture-raised meat locally. Come wander the 125 acres of woods, wetlands, and farm. Check out the animals in our pastures, and walk along the Muscatatuck River. Enjoy a quiet fire. Hear the roar of frogs calling in Spring. My stay at Liz and Nate's Nightfall Farms was loaded with rustic charm and creative design. The small cabin is a cozy marvel, featuring a stunning four-poster bed and unique windows salvaged from old buses and homes that give the space such a personal, handcrafted character. I spent time relaxing on the screened porch and found the outdoor kitchen area very convenient; having a small fridge and a sink for the essentials was exactly what I needed. Between the peacefulness of the off-grid composting outhouse and the constant entertainment provided by Croft, the farm's adorable and mischievous cat, it was a wonderful solo retreat. It’s an absolute gem for anyone looking to unplug and appreciate thoughtful, sustainable craftsmanship.

We loved the cabin at nightfall. It was perfect for the two of us. The outdoor kitchen made it so easy to cook and cleanup. Liz was so friendly and welcoming. Loved going on little walks around the property. Croft, the kitty, was an added bonus. The cabin was so comfy and made us feel like we were in the middle of the woods.

I had the best time spending the weekend here. I went for a solo birthday getaway and it was exactly what I had hoped for. I felt safe as a solo woman traveler with the location of the cabin. Tucked away and private, while this being close enough if something were to happen. Croft the cat was the best surprise and entertainment as he hunted through the woods around the cabin. Would be thrilled to back again

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and had a great time. The land was beautiful, the cabin was nice and cozy, and the hosts were super nice. The outdoor kitchen was fun to cook at out in the woods and their cat croft kept us good company😂 i would recommend this place if you want somewhere cozy to get away

Everything we needed for our trip to Clifty Falls! Liz was a great host, making the time to create instructions to the cabin site for our nighttime arrival. The farm eggs were delicious and we had leftover campfire wood! The swing bench by the fire pit was romantic, the outdoor kitchen had everything we needed, and the car parking spot was the right amount of convenience from the cabin while still being surrounded by the woods. The morning sunshine and birds were the best to wake up to 💐

Group trip
We used this spot as a home base for our yearly hunting trip. It was perfect for what we needed. Everyone on the farm was friendly and welcoming! You’ll get to know the horses and cats as they wander around the farm and sometimes come up to you to say hello. The cabin was a great common area and place to wind down after a long day of being out in the woods.

Liz’s cabin is charming and cozy. The property is beautiful and Liz was kind and responsive.
We took our kids to creek stomp and swim at Muscatatuck county park about 30 minutes away and it was perfect, just what we were looking for!
I would definitely recommend a stay at nightfall farm.
*there is a barn cat that comes and hangs out at the cabin (outstayed his welcome as he stole some of our food and tried to bite me). Just beware if you are not cat people. Liz kindly put him away after we asked her.

The cabin was amazing. It was all I could ask for in a secluded retreat without actually being too far away from folks or from home. I didn't get to chat with Nate, but Liz and her mom, Carol were amazing. Croft was also a very attentive host as were the doggos. The woods were great to walk in and get connected back to nature. I would recommend to a solo camper or someone bringing a friend. Oh, the outdoor kitchen was amazing.

Weekend Trip to Nightfall Farm
Loved my stay at nightfall Farm! The cabin is tucked behind the barn in the woods and is very private. I felt safe, secluded, and it was so lovely to wake up to a dozen different bird calls (according to my bird app).
Instructions and signage were clear and everything was lined out so I felt comfortable while I was there. Good communication with the hosts!
Walking the property and along the road at sunset and early morning was peaceful. I saw a few little green snakes and lots of wildflowers! The area where the farm is is really beautiful.
The cabin was great. I loved all the repurposed items that were used to build it. There's a ceiling fan and a couple of electrical outlets, which was nice. Had a great breeze overnight through the many windows. The porch swing outfront was really cool, too.
The two dogs were very friendly to me and Croft the cat, while he was a jerk, was also very sweet. He had no problem being confined to his carrier while I was eating my meal I cooked on the outdoor in the outdoor kitchen
Remember you are in the country, and there could be a multitude of different bugs - I wasn't bothered by too many of them. Spotty and limited cell service, although when I walked down to the far end of the road I was able to get a good signal.
The (outside) kitchen/picnic area could be dusty..... just like when you're camping.
Overall, everything was just really great!
