Drive straight to the back of the property past two barns one on your right and one on your left as you approach you will see a long house with a deck and a porch to the left of that house and your campsites are straight ahead. Hones Pointe was established in 1988. It was built by four insurance agents to elude our sales managers so we could enjoy a unique natural setting. Over the years, we have planted many different varieties of trees and perennials to observe. Also evidence exists of this area being an Indian camp long ago as suggested by arrowheads and an old handmade rock wall.
Primitive camping where you can pick your own scenic spot. We will furnish picnic table, fire ring, garbage can, and charcoal grill during your campout.

The Cabin is powered by solar &; wind and uses a filtered rain water collection system. It is close to French Lick & Paoli, hiking, golf, canoeing, spelunking, skiing hunting and more. Please note that during the winter months the angle of the sun is lower and the panels do not produce as much power as in the summer months (plus you have less daylight hours) . Depending on the cloud cover you may be limited to lights only in November, December, January and February . There is a generator available for rent at $10.00 per night plus gas or you can bring your own. There is a wood stove and a 13,000 btu indoor gas wall heater for heat, both units provide more than enough heat. There are two window air conditioning units that can be used in, June, July and August. Once you get to the end of August or on cloudy days you are limited to the amount of time you can use the AC units unless you rent the generator. There is a propane cook stove available if you run out of power and 2 charcoal grills (you supply charcoal). Please note that the cabin is still a work in progress and is not 100% completed. Also note that if rain is limited there may be no water.

The Cottle Cabin was wonderful. It was very clean and has comfortable sleeping space for up to six people. The downstairs bedroom features a cozy queen‑size bed, and the loft area provides additional sleeping space that’s perfect for kids, teens, or anyone who enjoys a tucked‑away, cabin‑style place to sleep.
The cabin has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The front porch is perfect for sitting outside and listening to the wildlife, and the campfire area—with its sturdy picnic table—made our evenings especially enjoyable.
The host is incredibly accommodating, checks in to make sure you have everything you need, and is available if anything comes up.
If you’re not interested in tent camping and don’t have an RV, this cabin is the ideal alternative.
We’re already looking forward to returning in the fall or winter to enjoy a fire in the woodstove.

We used this spot as a home base for our yearly hunting trip. It was perfect for what we needed. Everyone on the farm was friendly and welcoming! You’ll get to know the horses and cats as they wander around the farm and sometimes come up to you to say hello. The cabin was a great common area and place to wind down after a long day of being out in the woods.

Excellent view of the stars at night and the sunrise over the trees was glorious.
The hosts were extremely accommodating (despite the fact that I arrived pretty late). I wish I had stayed here longer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at this off the grid cabin. The setup was interesting to learn about and more than suited our needs. This isn't an Airbnb or Holiday Inn, but it's certainly a step up from camping. The host was very responsive in helping with any issues, even driving a long way to replace some equipment. Very quiet and peaceful overall, we certainly plan to come back!

The farm was easy to find and Brenda and Pete were very accommodating. We got a good deal on a large pile of wood for the fire pit. The cottage was cozy and warm in freezing temperatures. It was also close to the restrooms, which is a plus. My friends and I had a wonderful time, despite the cold weather.

The cabins are super comfortable and charming, part of the historic Silver Heights Camp and Retreat Center set in the wooded hills above New Albany. It's a quick drive to Louisville, but the cabins and grounds -- including a trail -- are a good reason to stay put and enjoy the camp. Jacob and staff at the retreat couldn't have been more welcoming. Such a unique way to experience the area. We'd love to come back and stay again.

Loved it here! Only one other cabin rented and they mostly fished so it was very quiet and serene. Just what I needed for my getaway. The dogs loved roaming the land and sniffing everything! Also, the horses were so sweet and lovely. Hope to get back here again in the fall!

A simple, but lovingly built cabin on a really lovely property. We came down from Chicago in early April to get a jump on the spring, and what a treat! Birdsong, wild flowers and the lovely fresh green of the trees starting to leaf out. Peaceful and soul soothing!
It was interesting and inspiring to be in a self sustaining off the grid cabin, and there was plenty of battery power to meet our needs.
There is lots to do in the immediate area. Hoosier national park has great hiking trails, as do the nearby state parks. Exploring some of the nearby caves was exciting.
