My family settled on this plot of land at the turn of the century, moving west in a covered wagon. And aside from a brief time in the late 80's it has been in our family ever since. For most of the 20th century the property was a small farm, grazing cattle and mowed for bailing hay. We are trying to rejuvenate the property and breathing some new life into this old plot of land. Learn more about this land: The Hill, aptly named, is a hilltop that slopes down to a large pond that divides the twenty acre property in two.  With plenty of room to stretch your legs you can enjoy a nature walk. In the evening enjoy the night sky around one of several fire rings, while roasting marshmallows. Easy access and only a quarter mile from the main road. The pasture is quite visible from Old Route 66, nearly adjoining it. Therefore people traveling “the Mother Road” find it convenient to stay with us. Grass is the best forage for horses, especially older ones, so we take care of our pastures, making for beautiful scenery for campers, too. Plus the entire back mile is bordered by old forest. And there is a swimming hole not a half mile away. This is a quiet and private site, bordered by a neighbor's old forest on back, other neighbor's cattle pasture on side, and you're in one of the pastures used by the Horse Sanctuary. (You are camping about 1/4 mile, more or less, from our house.) We regularly see coyote, wild turkeys, deer, fireflies, and the like.   We are just 1/2 mile off Old Route 66, therefore there are quirky little museums and great restaurants (for such a rural area!).   Plus we are only about an hour's drive from Branson. MO. which is a known tourist attraction.

Twenty plus acres with ponds, a rock face jutting out of a hill, lots of trails and a dry creek bed that will flood with a heavy rain, it runs east to west. Learn more about this land: Situated atop a ridge in SW MO, on the eastern edge of the great plains just west of the Ozark Mountain foothills, you’ll have beautiful farmland views to the east, south and west, including incredible sunsets over the water of our pond (fish all you want, pull out crappie slabs for dinner). Expect peace and quiet here, with the exception of the occasional mama cow calling to her calf. Great spot to spend the night near the junction of I-49 & I-44. Ride bicycles, kayak on the ponds, take a walk in peace. Small town of Jasper is a few miles away, with RoadHouse Grocery and Liquor store, RV dump stations on both sides of the highway, and 4 fuel stops. Lamar (birthplace of Harry S Truman) is 8 miles north. If you're traveling with horses, there is a 1-acre pen available for holding them overnight. It is 6-strand electrified high-tensile wire with a pipe swing gate and a galvanized water tank. There's also a worked arena with small pens to keep horses separate but adjacent to one another upon request. Negative Coggins required. Prairie hay small squares available for purchase. Riding is not allowed. We have 2 horses on site that are vaccinated and Coggins negative. We have friendly medium-sized dogs. Yours are welcome to run free with the pack. Expect the usual sniffing around and getting to know one another behavior.

We had a great time here. Beautiful land and cozy cabin. Very comfortable and great kitchen set up with induction stove and convection countertop oven. Everything was very clean and well stocked with everything from board games to laundry soap. The hosts John and Ginny are nice and welcoming. We will definitely come back when we can stay longer.

Weekend Trip to Riverside at Hollyhaven

Just us girls, summer camping trip. Fourth year in a row coming to this site. No other can compare, in our opinion. It's quiet, seems somewhat secluded but still only 7 minutes from a Walmart and 3minutes from a gas station. It's also only 7minutes drive to beautiful Grand Falls. We love to float from the falls to our camp. Very relaxing. Lots of wildlife. The land owners, Phil and Angie, are both super nice and so are their dogs. The restrooms/showers are in good repair and cleaned often. The land is very rocky, consider that if tent camping. The river is always so clear, and it's fun to go see all the beautiful rocks and fish. RV campers- there is a narrow somewhat steep incline/decline onto the property so that may be something to consider if your rig is really long but there were about 20 RV/Campers onsite already and they clearly figured it out just fine. There is also a nice sized beach area open for all campers to enjoy. Always clean when we go. There are several trees but also a lot of open space as well. The on site lake with rope swing is always a hit with our group, too. Overall, our favorite trip every year, hands down.

The field had a tree line easily seen Fire pit and firewood ready. The animals are all friendly and they everyone is great to work with. There is water available but it is really a dry camping location. Self contained is best camping but the place and people are fantastic. We had no complaints. We strung up a hammock and enjoyed the fire, lightening bugs and stars!

Really enjoyed staying here! This is primitive camping in a horse pasture, but the views are great (surrounded by horses and lots of stars on clear nights) and we really enjoyed the amenities. There is a hot tub in a green house, opportunities to feed horses, etc. We found a couple fun swimming holes nearby and enjoyed checking out some nearby roadside attractions like Red Oak.

Be sure the in app directions guide you to the right place (to a campground)! Maps sent me 10 minutes away to a church 😅 Luckily Angela responded immediately to my message to give me the address. I arrived late after a long drive. I camped as a stop over on a roadtrip moving back home (solo female camper and I felt very safe). The location is actually quite lovely and peaceful. The frogs sang me to sleep. There’s a central pond the camping is set around (with huge rope swing!) and the campground is set along a river, both waters an easy walk away (though I only swam in the river). Some of the tent sites are a ways away from the toilet, the RV sites being closer. This was the perfect camp spot: friendly neighbors, peaceful sleep, I got a morning swim in before hitting the road, what else could a gal ask for!

It's was a great overnight stay and the river was a welcome break from the heat. I was a little nervous because other reviews mentioned how busy it is, but we just drove a little further into the campground and had no trouble finding a spot all to ourselves - and any groups quieted down well before dark. We have our own bathroom in the van, so I can't speak to theirs. But the hosts were incredibly nice, communication was great, and we really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely book again.

We stayed at Candida’s for 1 night. The horses and pasture area are beautiful. A table, 2 chairs and fire ring were provided. We got to help with grooming one of the horses during our stay! Candida is very nice and welcoming. My dog had a great time running through the field also.
