We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege.
While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants.
This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. This was my first glamping experience, and I absolutely loved my stay at Totonami Farm. The mountain views are unreal, and the night sky is incredibly clear, you can actually see the Milky Way, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
It was a bit windy during my stay, but the tent was very sturdy and provided excellent protection. The bed was super comfortable, and the setup had everything you could need: phone charger, outdoor sink, and a proper bathroom, perfect balance between nature and comfort.
One of the highlights was the farm itself. They have the cutest pig, who loves playing around with Tobia the dog, which made the whole experience even more special.
Federico and Arisa were amazing hosts, welcoming, kind, and attentive. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Totonami Farm to anyone visiting Hawaii and looking for a truly unique glamping experience.
And don’t forget to try their farm-made honey, it’s delicious and made right there on the property 🍯

Great location. Short drive to beaches, CostCo, and restaurants. The property is very clean with everything you need. $7 laundry, warm showers, kitchen area. We camped in the Lanai tent for a week. The bed was vey comfortable. We brought a single air mattress for our 3rd person. A few nights other campers were up late (1:30 am) enjoying themselves which was a bit loud but other than that people were good about quiet time at 10 pm. The roosters like others have mentioned start very early. They didn’t bother us cause we have roosters at home. We were here in February so the weather was rainy and windy. The wind made it difficult getting good rest in the tent but that’s to be expected camping in the winter time. I would defiantly stay here again.

This is beautiful setting! There was a mini fridge with a tiny freezer area and a 2-burner camp stove that worked without a lighter there were also some pots and pans and dishes to eat on. There was not a knife so make sure to bring one. We loved the private bathroom behind the tent and the covered picnic table in front of the tent. We especially ebjoyes talking with the Gardner Steve since he was out and about in the area. I recommend this for an excellent glamping experience!

My partner and I had a great time at Sun Farm. It’s a beautiful space and the yurt is very cozy.
I would recommend renting a vehicle as it’s a bit away from the towns and beaches. But with vehicle access the location is wonderfully removed yet accessible to everything.
The roosters make a lot of noise in the morning but personally we did not mind it. The connection to nature was lovely, and it helps you wake up early to make the most of your day.
The bathrooms were kept clean. I had access to another living space during my stay where I took showers, only trying the campgrounds showers once. It may have been my own user error but the water did not get hot. That would be my main warning.
Otherwise the space is beautiful, clean and overall would highly recommend it for a short term stay.

Weekend Trip to Charming Kahuku camp
Great experience - despite the rain, the host did everything to make our stay comfortable, including providing iced coffee and a nice McDonald's breakfast in the morning. The cabin itself was comfortable, and horses, cows and roosters around were just adorable.

We loved this place so much! It is 100% surrounded by nature, which made it feel peaceful and special.
The room was clean and very comfortable. We slept really well.
We felt very connected to nature. We could park the car close to us, and there is a nice outdoor area to relax and enjoy the view. The host helped us connect so we could charge our phone, which we really appreciated.
Waking up and seeing the animals in the morning was beautiful. We would definitely stay here again. 🌿

I loved staying here! It was so quiet and serene. Was very nice having a kitchen and sitting area as well. Bring earplugs, the chickens like to crow at any hour lol!
Overall a great stay, i would recommend it to anyone and come back again. My only negative was the staff didn’t see very welcoming or friendly. When i arrived they didn’t acknowledge me, i assumed they were other guests but later found out they were the staff/volunteers (not sure). I had said good morning or hi multiple times and never got an answer from anyone. Online and the welcome video mentioned a produce stand, which i saw when i arrived but no one was ever there or offered any produce up for sale. I definitely would have bought some if someone just asked. I just expected a bit more.
Overall great stay, just don’t waste your time trying to speak to staff/volunteers.
