One of the most beautiful places in Hawai`i. We are at the top of a hill in a secluded and secure Homestead farm overlooking Kane`ohe Bay and Mokapu (and the Marine Corps Base) as well as the Pali (cliffs). We are nestled, in a jungle, in the Ko`olau mountain range. We have ocean access from the property (by crossing the road). Nearly are places to get in the water (such as Ka`a`awa and Ku`aloa Beach Park). We are also close to civilization and Kualoa Ranch.
We generally see the stars and the sun and moon rise. We also see the colors of the Bay change with the tides, clouds, wind, light.
We are focused on education about Hawai`i, being kind to animals (and all life, including humans), and we are privileged to be able to share our aloha as well as farm bounty. We grow chili peppers, ulu (breadfruit), kalo (taro), noni, vegetables, bananas, olena (turmeric), ginger, etc.
Not pictured is the common kitchen area.
We have access to Reiki, massage, and other types of services. We have kayaks, surfboards, general snorkel and beach gear, SUPs, and connections to local businesses for other opportunities (e.g., horseback riding, sailing, rowing, etc.).
There are surfing, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, scuba, horseback riding, and hiking options nearby. We are also conveniently near a mall and many great places to eat. It is also lovely to hang out here at the farm and enjoy the peace, away from concrete and traffic congestion. There are places to explore and a steep climb one can hike to get to the edge of the property where there are many and even more spectacular views.
We are a real homestead and aspiring organic farm focused on Hawaiian Heritage plants and a Sanctuary for animals. We have many Native Hawaiian plants, superfoods, and culturally important plants. We also have Bucket and Scream (our goats), Venus, Zenith, and Sweetie (farm cats), Ipo (Australian Shepard farm dog), turkeys (Royal Palms), and a bunch of chickens.
It is possible to get around in the near area, and on and off the property, on The Bus. The Bus stop is down a hill about 5 minutes away.
We are always involved in community and local food, so let us know your interests. & let us know if you want to plant plants, weed bad grass, attend a cacao ceremony, or donate to a good cause.

Michelle's place was great. Its a compact space but well laid out and has everything you need. All the consumables and amenities were good quality and plentiful. Michelle and her husband were very welcoming and kind hosts.
We had a mix of weather while there so some days our base for hiking, beach trips, and trying local restaurants etc and another day relaxing and watching movies etc with the Smart TV. Highly recommend.

It’s a well appointed, charming, clean, quiet and well decorated oasis. Michelle thought of everything we could need and then some. The back yard was a delight and it’s close to everything. She was a gracious host who made sure we had what we needed and felt comfortable. We will be back!

Had an AMAZING stay with Michelle. I work for an airline and fly standby so my trips are typically spontaneous and I messaged her prior to booking she was so gracious and attentive to my messages.
When I got on the flight I messaged her and was able to book she was willing to work with me and my chaotic lifestyle haha.
The location was very easy to find and walking distance to shops and the beach. We didn’t actually get to walk to the beach but it’s a nice 15 min stroll to town.
The space is perfect. It felt like a home away from home. Clean, cute and modern. The backyard is quaint in the morning I listened to the birds chirping.
Michelle is an Amazing host she made sure we had everything we needed, made us feel so welcomed and like family. I’m so happy I stumbled on this gem.
We plan to come visit more often, this will be our go to home away from home ♥️ Thank you Michelle!!!

I loved staying with Michelle. She was the epitome of helpful and friendly. The cottage is walking distance to town or to the beach, both about a 15 minute walk away. The best was comfortable, the space super clean, and had everything I needed to feel comfortable. Michelle gave me great restaurant and scenic view recommendations. Absolutely amazing time and would love to stay again next time I'm in town.

Great spot for the beach alone. Recommend for the ease of watching the sunrise and sunsets, and to venture off during the day.
Incredible garden, and decent place to sleep and have the basic amenities. Bed was comfortable, shower was warm, & nice to have a spacious studio.
We stayed less than a week with a young kid.
David was a great host.

Jelly was so very kind, patient and accommodating as we changed and rearranged dates to work with our plans and last minute flight changes.
We had the perfect stay here! Chickens galore with the their calls and birds and their songs were the perfect morning greeting. Listening to the evening showers closed out each night perfectly. Everything was well stocked and thought out for guests at the North Shore. Everything needed for a day at the beach was available, including: boogie boards, surf boards, beach chairs, and an ice chest-saving us money in not having to rent anything. The splits for a/c were so refreshing and kept us cool while we were inside. Beds were comfy with cozy bedding, the kitchen stocked with all we needed and more! We hope that when we return, we can set this up as a place to stay again!
If you have the opportunity, and the dates you need are open for this home, grab it quickly, you will not be disappointed!

I stayed in David’s bungalow, and it was a great time! The cost point is very budget friendly, and for the traveler that is looking for a simple stay. David greeted us upon arrival and showed up his backyard (the beach). As others have noted, the beach is smaller, but private! The stay itself was good, “man clean,” and has majority of the amenities a couple would require. Definitely book this place if you want to be steps away from the beach to unwind after a day of activities!

My and my two friends from Australia stayed and I really liked this place, the beach has such a beautiful sunset in Dave’s backyard and Dave is so chill. You can hang out every night down at the beach and wake up for sunrise at the beach
I think personally it’s a good place cause it’s away from the crowd and the tourist spots, and Dave is always there if you need and gives you a lot of clear instructions. I think people before writing negative reviews might misunderstand Dave because we all really enjoyed the stay.

By far the most helpful hosts we have ever had on a vacation. After an emergency situation due to a very unfortunate event, David and Allison treated us as their own and went above and beyond to help us. We couldn't be more grateful for the the help they offered.
An amazing place to stay. The location is so nice right on the beach and our bungalow was comfortable and had everything we needed.
Would not hesitate to recommend these great people or the space they have created for travellers to stay.
