Brooks Lake is a peaceful retreat to the outdoors where you can meditate or be as active as you wish. 56 acres of rolling hills, shaded bluffs, grassy plains, and a 50 acre spring fed lake with serious fishing for Bass, Bream, Crappie, or Catfish. For the more active individual you may rent canoes, or bring your own boats, paddle boards, small sail boats (troller motors, only).

Come join us at this unforgettable camping spot at Historic Castleberry Bridge where the Gold Rush happened, the Indian fish trap still exist, the birth place of Denver Colorado and the hideout of Jesse James just some of the history that happened at your campsite on the Etowah River. Our motto is "Thanks for keeping it clean," so help us spread the word and keep it true!
Look for the gate at 851 Castleberry Bridge Rd (right where the bridge crosses the river) and drive through the gate and George (owner) should be there. He will open the second gate for you where you will be able to drive through and park at your site - weather permitting. To the left of the first gate is the community area with toilet, grills, picnic tables, etc. Remember, your phone might not work near the river. If you need help, you might have to go back up to the road to call us. George (the owner) is there most every day and all day. For help contact Gini or George Ferris 404-431-2564 or 727-204-3932.
There's so much fun waiting for you to explore! Tubes are available for a $5 charge per day. If you're feeling extra adventurous, there are rope swings that let you swing over the river, and there are super cool places to splash around and swim, part of which, is in the Indian Fish Trap.
When your tummy starts rumbling, don't worry. We've got you covered with grills in the community area where you can cook delicious food. So you can have a tasty meal with the sound of the river flowing in the background. Also we are within 5-10 minutes to stores, restaurant , etc.
But wait, there's more excitement! If you're looking for an even bigger adventure, this is the perfect spot to begin an awesome kayaking trip if you brought your kayak. Castleberry Bridge is where people from all over the country come to experience going through the Miner's Tunnel.

Such a beautiful piece of land, with just the right amenities for camping. The campsites are well spaced and perfectly positioned near the river. The river is gorgeous, and the clean, cold water feels amazing during the heat of the day. The shared areas are clean and easy to use. We had an amazing stay.

The kids and I had a great time tent camping at Castleberry Bridge! We loved being right on the water and George kept us well-stocked with firewood. If the weather was a bit warmer, we would have enjoyed the tubes and been on the water more. However, the chilly weather didn't keep the kids off the rope swing the first day. George and Gini thought of many things one might have forgotten for a fun, safe day-- first aid kits, life vests, doggie bags, inflating pumps, etc. The location is close to a Dollar General if anything else is needed. George was a gracious host, offering to help with whatever might be needed. Thank you for such a wonderful experience camping on the river!

Definitely an unforgettable experience. You can truly feel how much love and care has been poured into this land. One of the most unexpected highlights was seeing some of Georgia’s most beautiful butterflies, it added such a special touch to the trip Also a perfect camping spot for families and children. George and Gino are incredibly kind, warm and inviting, they really make you feel at home.The campsite itself is well maintained, the bathrooms are clean and it is a great place to fish. I honestly didn’t expect to find a spot that had everything, but this one absolutely delivers. Highly recommend!

Castleberry Bridge is the BEST place to camp because of the location being in Atlanta’s backyard and close to all the stores, restaurants and shopping (if needed). It’s tucked away enough that makes it feel like you’re in the back country in a historic property where the Gold Rush took place so you can bring your metal detector and fishing rods (private property so no fishing license needed) where Native Americans built and caught fish in a trap that is now a swimming hole great for the kids! The running water sounds from the rapids are great for relaxing and sleeping next to and you can also go tubing ($5 to rent) or kayaking. George even sets up and starts your fire pit with an unlimited supply of FREE firewood and the star gazing at night is beautiful! There is a separate changing room and the port a potty is clean. George and Gini are the kindest and best hosts and are more welcoming than your favorite Airbnb Superhosts! Their family keeps the property clean and are constantly upgrading the amenities. They are very committed to making it a forever park for everyone to enjoy, while providing a safe space for children, adults, dogs and generations to come. I highly encourage you to spend a night like Jesse James and continue to support their efforts by booking your stays and keeping the place clean by not littering and even make a donation to their nonprofit. God bless George and Gini and we pray for many blessings in Jesus name! #AMEN

Beautiful place. Water is so cold you will love it during summer. Owner couple are so sweet and nice. Kept my kids entertain throughout the stay. It was my boy's birthday camping and he made him feel special. Creek is very clean. Area kept and maintain clean. Don't miss out on this place. My kids tell me how much they love this place!

We my grandson and I loved it. It our first camping trip. It was so peaceful and serene. The fish wasn't bitting but it was so relaxing. The owners were absolutely great they made sure we were ok the entire time. We'll definitely be back soon.

We had an amazing weekend at HCB!!! George was great and really cares about the land and the people he opens up this beautiful space to. He was an awesome host, the stocked wood was such a blessing, and our site was clean and ready for us upon arrival. Being on the river was beautiful and there were conveniences as well as good day trips close by. We can’t wait to return soon!!!

We liked it so much the first time, we decided to go back. It was as awesome as we remembered. Anna is very kind; the location is secluded but near to hiking and other attractions. There's a lovely stream the kids can play in (no more than 18 inches deep at its deepest spot). There were so many stars at night--such a relief to get away from the city. There's a port-a-potty nearby, a water pump... and a lovely space. Exactly what we remembered.

Great time at Campsite 2, George and his Son were very friendly and welcoming , and we had the entire place to ourselves on Friday evening. We loved staying at Castleberry Bridge! We enjoyed walking along the river, sleeping next to it, and taking a freezing cold dip! The porta potty was very clean, well stocked, and had a light at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come visit with Gini and George again, they’re so kind!

I loved my time spent at Brooks Lake. Bill and Laura are just the best people. Communication was great when I arrived on where to camp, where to park, where the facilities were, etc.
The views are pristine. Beautiful trees, a gorgeous lake, you can fish, there are pavilions and picnic tables all around, and some friendly geese walking around as well! I would absolutely come back here again and look forward to it, already!

When I first pulled in, I saw little heads bobbing, geese! Then when I pulled around to my campsite the road led through a little creek any f150 or bigger could get through no problem!!! How awesome is that?! Then, a downfall, the power went out but we had the generator and gas hooked up in a jiffy, with that being said, the man offered to pay for our gas to run our small heater microwave and tv, along with an easy to remember wifi password which worked so well out by the small uncovered lake pavilion. I traveled in an f350 with a camper on top and had very little to no branches above head that got in the way. This is a fine camp and he was able to make us aware of anything when it went wrong or wasn't working properly.
