During the day, see wading birds alongside one of the park’s hiking and biking trails. Then, linger until nightfall for spectacular stargazing. Year-round primitive tent camping within the wildlife area is limited, so get a permit and book ahead to score a campsite.

When to go

Florida’s mild climate makes it easy to camp year-round in Stuart. December to March is the most popular time of year for all types of camping because Florida winters bring plenty of bright sun and relief from the heat.
