We pulled in late, and Andy was there to meet us and help us find the site in the dark. The site was clean, quiet, and level. We were there for a short time before an early flight in the morning, so we didn’t use the amenities, but it had a table and chairs, outhouse, and access to water. Great spot for anyone looking for a place to stay near the airport.

Our second annual father/son camping trip was a huge success. We had the whole property to ourselves. Each year our favorite part is exploring the boulders at the top of the property. The dozen or so turkeys that wandered through the property was the icing on the cake!

Weekend Trip to K-Bar Ranch

Stayed here in mid-October at the Boondock Tent Site, which is a large area of heavy gravel that is quite level on top of a little bit of hill. Given the exposure, we were subjected to some hellacious winds for the first day and a half, which isn't unusual in the mountains, but the flip side of that is some great views. The ranch has a large corral area nearby with the cutest cohort of goats, mini-donkeys, a horse, and two Great Pyrenese guard dogs, one of which roamed the property and was super sweet and friendly, but well trained enough to leave you alone if you told it too. We appreciated that the animals were kept in their own space, as we've stayed at other ranches where the animals ran amok through our campsite at all hours of the day and night pooping all over the place. This is much better! While we didn't use the common area a ton, there was a propane fire there and some cornhole games. Guffey Gorge was a nice hike. The town is tiny but charming, and Canon City isn't too much of a drive either. Generally speaking, we enjoyed our stay there and would definitely do so again.

Very easy to get to and perfect for what we needed. Andy was incredibly nice, helping us get to our site and even assisting with hooking up our RV! The land was so beautiful in the morning and our dog loved running around in the doggy play area. You won’t regret booking here!

EXACTLY what we were looking for. So peaceful, quiet, and absolutely beautiful and clean. Weather was a little iffy while we were there. We were at campsite #4 - highly recommend. You can’t see any other campsites, there’s a trail with some beautiful scenery at the end, and you have soooo much space for all of your stuff! Read the instructions on how to get there three times over. It’s a little confusing, and the terrain is rough so I would make sure to bring some type of 4 wheel drive. We took my husbands truck, but my sedan wouldn’t have made it.

Great host and some pretty killer views! Andy has worked hard at providing a lot for his guests. Outdoor furniture and shade canopies for tent campers and RVers too. We were headed west and wanted a one night stay near Denver. Worked out perfectly for us. Will stay here again if ever passing through. FYI, there is a great grocery store in Bennett, King Soopers, where we could restock everything for our trip.
