Welcome to the Gold Cabin! This bungalow was built in the early sixties, but much of the timbers came from Sierra Valley barns from the 1800's. Located at the confluence of the Yuba River and Haypress Creek, the house opens up to the sound of rushing waters and chirping birds. Skiing, biking, hiking are just steps away

Genesee Valley Farm & Retreat

The goal for this ranch is to plant orchards, a farm, and oak trees. The Beautiful Genesee Valley is voted "the Most desirable area to live in Plumas County". The valley boasts of cattle ranches, sweeping valleys lined by the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, and pristine meadows literally bursting with life. This area, home to beautiful valleys and inspiring vistas is also rich with the history of the Maidu Indian, early American settlers, gold mining, ranching and logging. In fact, a drive along the highways linking Quincy to Indian Valley and Susanville will put you on the ancient trail through the land of the Mountain Maidu Indians, a trail, known to the Maidu people as the Worldmaker’s Trail. Rural living and community, rich history and a natural wonderland make the Indian and Genesee Valley area a place to “come home”.

When you come to camp here you are on a working farm in transition. Girlfarm has been a local food go to for restaurants, farm family members, and regenerative agriculture interests. Today, the farm is looking forward to a new course in agri tourism as we begin planning walking gardens, art installations in the landscape, and interactive classes.

If you would like a list of grass fed meats available, veggies, or herbs just text your host before arrival.

We are looking for a seasonal self contained camper who we could offer trade for camp care - text host directly. 

Its been a huge water season so skeeters are around we also recommend tents have a rain fly and ground cloth.

As we move toward offering the land as a place to both find solitude or chosen participation our Flyte and Sparrow experience will hopefully be a place you will want to return to as your own tradition.

Learn more about this land:We are located near Doyle, CA. There is a view of the mountains and a pond to swim and just cool off. We are also about 2 miles away from the fortsage ohv staging area and a lot of hiking trails.

We love to listen to the songbirds in the morning, enjoy breezy afternoons, occasional exciting winds and storms you can watch roll through the valley, and vibrant Nevada sunsets. View desert as far as the eye can see, explore the lakebed on bike, follow the Dry Valley trails. Enjoy a private burning man party (without the fire please; fire season is upon us and has been affecting our valley these past years.) Valley is tranquil, and can get very hot. Bring your own water and shade. 
Less than 15 min away from a gas station and quick-stop, and just 20 minutes to Susanville for supplies, takeout, breweries, etc. 20 minutes to beautiful Pyramid Lake.
