All incredibly beautiful paved roads to ride. Weekend Trip to Fox Pass Retreat and Campground

Fox Pass Retreat is just that- a retreat! It's located in a quiet area between/20 minutes away from Paris and Booneville, which are big enough to have all the amenities. It's a pretty area with lots of nature to watch for. I stayed in their treehouse for the weekend. The hosts, Jasmine and Roger, graciously extended my stay on the front end when they had a cancellation. They have put a lot of thought into this getaway, with artistic touches, including Jasmine's stained glass creations, areas for kids to play, and a map of the hiking trails on their land. Jasmine and Roger were very kind and accessible, eager to chat or leave me to myself. They're the kind of folks you'd want to keep in touch with.

This place is always great. I bring my dog and she loves running down to the river and through the field. You can see the stars super well on the right nights and sunsets are always awesome. There’s a gas station about 5 minutes down the road where you can restock and a Walmart in Mena is about 30 minutes away. If you want an easy hike, Southern Loop Trail is a good pick around Mena — it’s part of the Earthquake Ridge Trail system just west of town, right off U.S. Highway 270 and only took about 45 mins to do.

Absolutely fantastic off grid camping in the heart of a vast trail system if you like to go atv riding and if not its a perfect place to hang out a while away from the world! We trail road some days and kayaked a park of the river right off the camp site the other days. We have stayed at both site 1 and 2 at different times and love them both.

End of the trail was an amazing getaway from all the modern world. The river was right there, the site was gorgeous and had amenities I was not expecting but glad to have access to. The area was peaceful and simply gorgeous. My dogs loved the area as well and my child got to enjoy the site of cows in the field across the river.

The treehouses at End of the Trail were very cute and comfortable. Everything you need except bedding. No water though, and the porta potty was far away near Site #1. We stayed at Site #2 Freebird. The River bottom is too muddy for swimming, but the frogs, cicadas, owls, and lightning bugs made up for it. Could hear some highway noise but did not wake me up. Site #1 has a side creek that moves swifter and we rinsed off in it bc no one was there. Felt very safe. Great not to have to set up a tent.

Absolutely lovely site. Very bare bones so bring lights and a comfy bed if that’s something you care about, and the porta potty was a walk, but that wasn’t a big deal. Was a beautiful and private location, had a chance to use the kayaks and make a fire and relax on the river. 10/10 would come again, had a great time.

We spent about 5 hours just sitting in the river! So relaxing!

Took our two kids on their first camping trip! The location gave up different opportunities to camp! The lean to excited the kids. Also put the tent up! Being so close to the water was great! Great fishing for small mouth bass. The community area down to the stream was a great place to swim and wash up!

It's so hard to find simple little places like this. I know that glamping is popular, but I prefer the cabin equivalent to dry camping for myself. y dogs and I had a great time, and the greenhouse roof on one side made the thunderstorms enjoyable; being able to see the clouds, rain, and lighting while laying back. The little deck looks out over the river. Perfect for fresh ground coffee and breakfast like we did. Not quite enough covering to sit on the bench and enjoy the rain without getting wet, though. There's also a little path from the cabin to the river if you want to swim, take a kayak, or just sit in the water to be lazy. This one of the two cabins is tucked away in the trees between the river and a circular open space for tents or outdoor games, so you have total privacy but room to play. All in all, I would definitely book this again and bring my group with me.

Weekend Trip to Fox Pass Retreat and Campground

This treehouse stay way the PERFECT getaway! We drove from OKC to hike Mount Magazine and chose this as our resting place. We were not disappointed. Jasmine and Roger were as cordial as can be and the treehouse was comfortable and cozy. I would highly recommend!
