Overview

The lakes and mountains of northwest Arkansas are within easy reach from Fayetteville. Nestled in the Ozark Mountains, the vibrant city is a mecca for year-round outdoor adventure. Whether you're bunking down in an RV park, remote tent site, yurt, or cabin, camping here is something special. You find plenty of campgrounds on the shores of Beaver Lake—a sprawling reservoir high in the mountains. Fishing, boating, and water sports are popular pastimes. Near the dam, beautiful Eureka Springs hosts some of the most popular camping areas. On the southern shore, you come to Hobbs State Park. Spanning more than 12,000 acres, it's the largest park in Arkansas. Here you find a different Beaver Lake experience. Pitch a fire at a rustic hike-in campsite, explore 36 miles of trails, or gawk at striking limestone bluffs. At Devil's Den State Park, tent sites, RV sites, and 15+ cabins give you plenty of camping choices. This Arkansas hidden gem is a place to discover hidden caves and hike dense forests. You can even rent a canoe or kayak to explore Lake Devil. If the mountains are calling your name, pitch your tent in Ozark National Forest. Nearby campgrounds such as Lake Wedington (just west of Fayetteville) offer a secluded escape from the urban noise.
