Weekend Trip to Petrified Forest
It was awesome! Know what you are getting into though. This is bare bones, don't expect luxury amenities. What you're getting is some distance between you and the city. And a great view of the stars. This is all about the nighttime sky.
The tent is WELL protected from the wind and cold. Tent comes with a few items like a lamp, a space heater, book with local information. A bench outside, a table and two chair inside the tent. Its lovely.

This place is a little slice of Heaven! Cute and quaint cabin, with a spacious loft and homey feel. There were a ton of great hiking spots with beautiful views on these 40 acres. My German Shepherd enjoyed swimming in the pond, artistically lined with cattails and full of friendly fish. The other pond was a bit overgrown, but still a sight to see. The night sky is perfect for star gazing, away from city lights. “Cabin by the Pond” is definitely a great place to go to escape the business of life!

Cabin by the Pond was a really nice place. Michele was very accessible and was a pleasure to deal with. If you like to fish…. The pond closest to the cabin was full of Bluegill and a few Black Bass. We never tried the second pond as it was difficult to reach due to overgrown reeds. All in all, we would definitely return and recommend!!

Great spot! Tent had everything we needed including bedding, pillows, a cute little table and chairs. GPS took us in on a mile long goat path. Not sure a car would make it in but we found a much better route out. Very secluded and private. The stars at night were amazing. Really enjoyed it.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the cabin. We fished at the ponds multiple times a day. My dogs were able to run free and enjoy nature. One of the best experiences we have had and we did not even deep dive everything. Michele was very responsive and helpful if we needed anything. Would love to come back!

The tent is immaculate, so clean and tidy! The bed was unbelievably comfortable and the pillows were great! It looked like the portable toilet was also just cleaned so it didn’t smell at all and was stocked with plenty of TP. The hammock was my husband’s favorite. The view of the stars was incredible! There’s no shade in the area, but we got there late enough that the heat of the day was almost over. We were surprisingly chilly at night but there are plenty of extra blankets and a sleeping bag. Petrified forest is so close that we were able to start our day early and spend more time at the park.

Absolutely love this spot will definitely be coming back! Super open and private land with beautiful view of the stars! We unfortunately we in the middle of 3 massive storms and the lodging stood its ground and kept us dry all night long! In addition, due to the rain it killed by car battery and the following morning the host was so kind and drove out and helped us out with a jump! Love this camp sight and hosts!

It poured the night we were staying in the canvas tent but it kept us dry! Also, since there were 4 of us, 2 cots were set up in addition to the small bed that slept two. That was a nice surprise. Sleeping in the cots was like, well, sleeping in a cot. There was a light hanging from the ceiling and a little table with two chairs as well. Very cute!

Loved Michele and John’s cabin and the property! There were 2 stocked ponds for catch-n-release and lots of places to explore. The cabin had everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay with activities to keep you busy. Sounds weird but loved the shower as well lol! Would love to stay again if we are back out this way!
