My family and I built up this peice of property in the summer of 2016, we purchased it as land only and have done everything you will find here today! My husband and I built the barn and all structures! The house was the last thing to get finished, we moved in March of 2020. We raise Cattle and Bernedoodle dogs. And also enjoy training horses and competing with the Mustang Heritage Foundation. If you walk around you will see many American Mustangs! We hope you enjoy the fantastic views and the peaceful surroundings as we do!! This authentic sheep wagon is located on our ranch near Nunn, CO. We have cattle, horses and chickens and the wagon is neatly nestled near our large garden. The sheep wagon has a new pillow top ( full size ) mattress, electricity, luxurious linens, extra pillows/ blankets and hand/face towels. It also come with a coffee pot, coffee/fixings, and 2 mugs. For the cool Colorado nights and warm days, it has an electric heater and a fan. The toilet and laundry sink with hot and cold water are located in the barn, a short walking distance away. The bathroom also has a mini-fridge and electricity.
Back over by the wagon, there is also a nice picnic table and 2 chairs located outside. During the warmer month there is also a shade attached to the wagon for your lounging comfort. A fire ring is nearby, small campfires are ok as long as we don't have a fire ban in effect. We include the firewood.
Keep in mind this is an authentic piece of American West history and is not perfectly sealed from the elements, but it will absolutely keep you dry and comfortable. !
Nunn is located 30 minutes Northeast of Fort Collins, and is considered a prairie landscape, even though mountains are a short driving distance away. Living on the prairie comes with its challenges - mostly with its strong winds that we can get on occasion. Please keep this in mind.
You're welcome to walk around the ranch and view the animals, we ask that you DO NOT enter the corrals. If you happen to be here in the spring, this is when you will find new calfs! Oh so fun!!
We have some outstanding sunsets, lots of open space and plenty of fresh air. We also have fantastic mountain views to the west. Also, please keep in mind we are 4 miles on a county-maintained dirt road from the nearest paved road.
There are many things to do in this area, just to mention a few - Lory State Park, Horsetooth Reservoir, Pawnee National Grasslands - specifically the Pawnee Buttes, Also great restaurants/brewery's in Wellington as well as many choices in Old Town Fort Collins - as well as many shops and boutiques.

What a beautiful area of the country. It was a lot of fun to spend a little time here with my dog who loves cows, and got to hang out with the chickens and horses at the ranch. Shannon was super friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely time and wow, the sunset was amazing!

10/10 would recommend! I was greeted by several friendly animals, the set up in the sheep wagon was cozy and had just what I needed as I was passing through on my way to South Dakota. I would always rather stay in a unique spot than just another roadside motel. Thank you for opening up your property to weary travelers! ✌🏻🏍️💨

Beautiful sunsets, stars and animal
Beautiful sunsets and amazing star gazing plus all the furry friends who came to visit. Shannon was very friendly and talked us through a few things, and responded quickly when we had a request then let us settle in. The wagon kept us comfortable and out of the wind and the fire pit was great to roast beenie weenies and make s’mores. The dogs were super friendly and the barn cats cuddled up to us numerous times. We had a blast and would highly recommend visiting. Thanks for allowing us to stay. A & Q

A wonderful stay hosted by wonderful people. The cozy sheep wagon was nicely appointed and the bed super comfortable. I played fetch with the dogs, shared the bathroom with a couple of cats, and was woken at dawn by the rooster. For me, this was the perfect stay other than the wind storm waking and shaking me all night. My only regret is I didn't get to spend more time with all of the animals.

Can I be you when I grow up?
This sheep wagon was such a fun night away! I can’t imagine a prettier sunset and I’m fully considering going back to ask for a job as a ranch hand. The horses, dogs, cats and chickens around are what dreams are made of. And they were all so quiet!

Blissful peace
I never knew a ranch could be so quiet. Even the chickens were quiet. I had no idea how bad I needed this trip till we settled in. My boyfriend absolutely loves Babs the dog and I was smitten by the two barn cats that hung out with us as we cooked our dinner on the campfire. Beyond peaceful and the views were amazing especially the sunset and stars. Thank you so much for letting us stay and we hope to return in November or maybe December.

What can be more unique than sleeping in a restored Sheepwagon on this beautiful ranch situated on the bucolic Colorado prairie. Shannon was very friendly and welcoming (I rarely meet Hipcamp owners). The story behind the ranch inspiring, at least it was for this city boy. Looking forward to the next visit whenever that may be.

This little wagon made for an amazing stay! The property the perfect secluded, quiet getaway on the plains I was looking for, with plenty of animals and amazing views to make it complete (and the stars at night were breathtaking!) With great directions to help get there, and excellent communication throughout, I would recommend this listing to anyone.

Super cute place and nice and quiet. The horses and chickens 🐓 on site were an added bonus for my daughter.
Shannon did an amazing job communicating with me - and I’d definitely recommend using the Waze app for driving directions as that took is right to the spot.

My stay in the sheep wagon was seriously a dream!! The wagon was decorated so cute and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I wanted a place to rest my mind but where I wasn’t to off grid. I liked the easy access of the bathroom, just a little walk from the wagon. I love the beautiful scenery and all the animals. I hope I get the chance to stay here again.

Wonderful Glamping Get-away
I really enjoyed my stay. Shannon was super accommodating when I needed to move my date. There were horses, chickens, very nice dogs and two adorable kittens. The views were beautiful, calm and peaceful. And the wagon that we stayed in was super cute with a comfortable bed and an entire chill vibe. Locating the place was not so straightforward. As Shannon says in her description, gps does not allows work. Signs would be helpful. Also, I was super lucky to be able to build a campfire because of the high winds. And This place had high winds and it rained the night we were there. But that was the best sleep I’ve had in years. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, Shannon! I recommend this place especially if you’re like me who lives in the Denver area. It was nice to feel like you are away but really only 1.5 hrs away. Excellent stay and I wish we had more time to visit

Being a bit oblivious I made the mistake of booking Shannon's wagon one day early! She was super duper accommodating and the wagon and amenities were perfect and made me feel very at home after a long road trip.
