Sometimes called Minnesota’s last true wilderness, Big Bog State Recreation Area is home to a 500-square-mile peat bog, the largest in the lower 48 states, and a mile-long boardwalk lets you get up close and person with its rare plant and animal life, many of which are on Minnesota’s endangered species list.
