ONE OF IDAHO'S MOST ICONIC PEAKS, often compared to the Matterhorn, will transfix you in a picture-perfect view from this campsite. On a clear night, its rosy glow is the only thing you will see just before darkness. As the night darkens further you'll be dazzled by the brightest stars against the darkest of dark skies you will ever experience. In the early morning be on the lookout for the resident moose and her calf (Watch, but don't approach!!) or any of the many deer that ramble by. Then drop a fishing line into the river, just a few steps away, and catch yourself a trout or two for your breakfast. After breakfast, get out your binoculars, cameras, and maps (you did bring them, didn't you?) and choose your day's adventure, whether it be a challenging hike up a mountain trail, a leisurely stroll to a delightful waterfall, a 20-mile trip to world-famous Sun Valley via the stunning Trail Creek Summit, or exploring the largest wilderness in the lower 48 states. which is just on the other side of the fence! The road you enter the property from will also get you 20 miles deep into that wilderness along a broad river valley where you may see elk, moose, wolves, coyotes, foxes, beavers, deer, antelope, mountain goats, big horn sheep, black bears, and much more all thriving in natural abundance. Cougars (also called Mountain Lions) are absent in this area, fortunately, but may be observed in narrow, steep-sided canyons in other drainages nearby, if you dare.o

Garden Valley River Access Campsite

The address to the house next door is 519 MiddleFork Rd, Garden Valley, ID 83622. That will get you to the property. The property is right after 519 it is a large open lot that leads down to the river. There is a black military vehicle parked on the very end close to the house. So there are two sections 1st is a flat section where you have plenty of room to set up tents and RVs. It is right off the road, and any car can get to the site with ease. The 2nd section is more wooded and has access to the river. You are welcome to tent camp here it is just getting an RV down there and out can be a challenge I don't recommend it. Also, the bridge across the river is the neighbors and so is the property across the river. There are roughly 4 campsites on the property but can camp where you want really. Large flat spot above the river that has access to the water. Half of the property is a flat spot for RV's and tents the 2nd half is more green, woody and has access to the river. There is a deeper spot in the river that is 3-4 feet deep and is perfect to lounge in during the hot parts of the summer. Please pack out what you pack in and keep the place nice for the next camper. This Yurt is the perfect getaway for the family, romantic weekend, or a base camp for your outdoor adventures. About the Yurt: The 30’ yurt came from Pacific Yurts in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The yurt was erected in 2022 and in 2023 we added all the rooms and beautiful woodwork inside. It is on a Kiln Dried Tongue and Groove decking. Yurts are designed to withstand cold winters and this one is no exception. Temperature Control: The decking is insulated underneath to help with the cold winters. When the sun is out on a warm day the yurt will heat up nicely through the dome and can be cooled by opening the windows, the dome, and running the ceiling fan. Also keeping the outside windows up keeps the heat out if you get to hot. the yurt is equipped with a mini-split w/remoted, allowing personalized temperature control. Kitchen: We have everything you need to cook a meal at your home away from home. Refrigerator w/freezer, 2 burner cooktop, microwave, Keurig, and toaster oven. Have all the basics from napkins, plates, silverware, cooking supplies, spices, flour, sugar etc. Don’t feel like cooking then head down to the local bar & restaurant for a nice meal, drink, and meet some locals. Living Room: Inside is a quaint living area with a couch where guests can gather, unwind, and enjoy the yurt!. There is no TV but feel free to use the wireless internet for your own devices. Our cozy furnished yurt is nestled in 43 acres of secluded mountains a mile above the S Fork of the Payette River between Banks and Crouch. It offers off the grid camping with electricity, mini-split, wood burning stove, sink, propane cook stove, grill and WiFi if desired. It's close to most every outdoor activity you would find in the mountains of Idaho. Note: Our yurt may not suitable for everyone. There's no running water but we provide 10 gallons and there is a clean porta-potty.

Magical pools of warmth are found just a short hike down the trail from the parking area. One of my favorite hot springs in Idaho. Rafters and kayakers often stop on their way down the river to warm up.
