Originally built by a local artist, the JT BOM property is a unique place to stay with enough amenities to keep you comfy while still giving you the great outdoor experience. We are located just a few miles away from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park and only a few minutes drive to booming down town Joshua Tree. I recently bought the property and hope to continue providing campers with the best possible experience. We hope you love this spot as much as we do! Learn more about this land: Hello dear campers! We hope you like our rustic desert getaway! Although we have two camp sites on our property, because of COVID we are only allowing one group at a time so you will have access to both sites! You have Joshua Tree National Park at your back and an expansive desert view. You're close enough to town to be convenient, yet far enough away to have peace and quiet. WE MEET AND GREET our campers in Joshua Tree in front of the Natural Sisters Cafe located at 61695 29 Palms Hwy and lead them to the property. Our incredible assistant Maryah will meet you at the parking lot. PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT PROVIDE BEDDING - so bring your own sleeping bags/pads, air mattress, blankets, pillows, flashlights, towels, etc. Make it your own cozy space. Please check weather and dress appropriately, nights are chilly in the desert up to May. Our private campsites have solar electricity! Excellent cell reception, solar powered plug, potable water spigot, and a wash up sink next to the cabin! Easy drive to Joshua Tree National Park and 3 minutes to JT village with local shopping, JT Saloon, Saturday Farmer's Market. Our campsite has it's own outdoor shower and both sites share a fully plumbed and finished out house. Say good bye to hovering over a pit of human waste. (There is a pit toilet as a backup if there is some sort of bathroom emergency!) The site is perfect if you want to visit the National Park, but couldn't get a permit. Besides exploring Joshua Tree National Park, there is great shopping and restaurants in town as well as fun day trips to places like the Integratron in nearby Landers for a soundbath or The Dream Wanderer for a surreal VR experience that will not dissapoint!! Horse back riding, mountain biking and climbing are also very accessible here. Sorry, no large parties or events allowed. It's simply a matter of impact, noise, treading lightly, only one toilet, etc... This is private property and you are on it by permission. We want to keep your desert camping experience authentic. We do not allow RV's. The driveway is narrow and there is nowhere to turn around. While dogs are allowed, we must know about it ahead of time, and be aware that the property is not fenced and the main road is close by. Your dog must be well trained not to run off. Please pick up after your dog. Thank you!

Desert Pensione Joshua Tree
Camping at Desert Pensione was lovely. The directions given were clear, along with the extremely helpful photos and videos! It is a perfect distance between the busier part of 29 palms and Joshua Tree National Park. Beautiful views of the sky from a cozy and spacious campsite!

Desert Pensione Joshua Tree
We had such a great time at this property!! Thoughtfully laid out, it had all the essentials and two campsites/buildings to hang out at. It’s in a great location right off of the main road, but secluded enough where you have privacy and close to the national park entrance. The hosts were very responsive and helpful with any questions we had.

Desert Pensione Joshua Tree
I didn't end up sleeping at Aaron's place because of a very last minute change of plans but he was super responsive and helpful when I got to Joshua Tree and called me with exact directions to the camp and how to find everything around the site.

Desert Pensione Joshua Tree
Iconic Joshua Tree Stay
The Desert Pensione Cabin was such a cozy spot. Since being a JT local I’ve seen the missile on the side of Hwy 62 and I was excited about finally getting to check this place out. As a tourist, this is one of the best choices for your Joshua Tree adventure! Upon pulling up I explored out the entire layout, finding my way to the amphitheater/camping spots inside the fence line. This entire property is perfect for big groups and single campers alike with at least three options to choose from and more on the way. I let my pup run around, she was so distracted about the smells of a new space she barely noticed when I started “making our bed” and lugged out our necessities for the evening out of the Jeep. The space is far away from the main road to feel comfortable enough to let your pup wander. But be mindful of after dusk, that’s when the coyotes start wandering and you can easily lose sight of your pet. The outdoor shower was rad, but since there was a little wind and it was still a little chilly and it wasn’t the best for an actual shower. Come summer, this is probably the best feature on property so don’t let my aversion to the cold keep you from experiencing this amazing outdoor feature.

Desert Pensione Joshua Tree
Exceeded our wildest expectations!
Planning a last minute trip is never easy. We booked Desert Pensione Joshua Tree 4 days before we planned to check in. We assumed we had "settled" for a very basic, very minimal campsite. Boy were we wrong. Aaron's place was incredible. The space is far enough away that we heard no other campers or people nearby. It's also close enough to town that it's a quick trip in. The running water and electricity were such a nice surprise! We ended up extending our stay. Aaron and his site host, Maryah, could not have been accommodating, friendly and communicative. Absolutely best experience we've had in a while.
