Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills. Our park boasts miles of hiking terrain, the Robert Ferguson Observatory, summer campfire story telling, as well as one of a kind views! Sugarloaf Ridge State Park boasts a Visitor's Center on site, which offers an array of items and information during your stay. We offer basic camping supplies, t-shirts, cold drinks...and even smores!!! Our volunteer staff are extremely knowledgeable about not only our park, but of the various things to do in the area.
Whether you are looking to simply soak up the peaceful nature around you, give your children a great camping experience, hike our gorgeous trails, or wanting to indulge in the winery experience, Sugar Loaf Ridge State Park is the perfect destination for your unique experience!
Our glamping experience is one a kind! Our canvas tents are spacious enough for large parties, yet quaint for couples. We offer queen memory foam mattresses, complimentary twin bed setups, and limited electricity in select sites!

Pets are welcome in the campgrounds, but are not allowed inside the luxury tents. If you plan to bring your pet, please ensure you have accommodations for them outside the tents. This is strictly enforced and you WILL be charged a $150 cleaning fee for any violation of this policy. By booking your site, you are acknowledging this policy and understand the cleaning fee if violated.
Site 1 (Site 29 on the campground map): 6-Person Shelter Canvas Luxury Tent: $125 per night. This gorgeous site is nestled at the foot of the ridge, perfectly shaded, cozy, private and with a gorgeous view of the meadow. Directly across from the meadow to the bathhouse with large, hot shower rooms, this canvas tent features a queen-sized memory foam bed, rugs, lounge furnishings, light, heat, complimentary firewood, and possibly a optional power connection. Upon request, we can provide up to three twin beds inside this tent in addition to the queen. The site has a fire ring, outdoor seating, and plenty of room for your additional tents if desired. There is a $25 setup/breakdown/cleaning fee for this rental. NOTE: Please specify your desired setup for this tent by using the extras feature on this site. e.g. If you would like two additional twin beds setup inside the tent (at no extra charge), please add them to your booking! If no "extras" are selected we will assume the queen only setup.
Luxury tent furnishings (included): Memory foam queen bed, twin cots/lounge chairs, tables, chairs, rugs, lamp, heating, optional power, and firewood. Free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center.
Site 2: (Campsite 16/17 on the campground map): 6-Person Shelter Canvas Luxury Tent: $125 per night, or $215 a night for both tents on this site. The large main tent boasts an extremely comfortable memory foam queen bed, rugs, lounge chairs, heating, lighting, and complimentary firewood (up to three bundles per night). Up to three additional twin beds can be accommodated in this main tent upon request, for no additional fee. The campsite also includes outdoor seating, including Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, fire rings, and additional seating. Located in the largely shaded, partially sunny sites 16 and 17, this site offers a cool retreat from the heat. Glorious sunrises and stargazing galore!
Luxury tent furnishings (included with the main tent): Memory foam queen bed, lounges that convert to twin beds, tables, chairs, rugs, lamp, heating (seasonal), and firewood.
This site also has a second full sized tent that can be added for $90/night, perfect for teenagers, kids, or another couple joining the party. Our annex tent can accommodate up to seven twin bed setups, or can also be arranged as a sheltered extra lounge/living room area. The annex tent can be rented along with the main tent or separately for $70 per night, with a $20 cleaning fee. If you do not use the annex tent, you will not be charged for it. (Conversely, if you end up using the annex tent after all, we can help facilitate payment after the fact.)
We recommend this annex tent for families or small groups who would like an additional room for kids, single adults, etc. You do not have to book the annex tent as well, but it will be set up in your site whether you book it or not. Many choose to book this as an additional living room area if not needed for kids/teenagers. There is also plenty of room to set up your own tents, in addition to the glamping tents, which we recommend if you have larger parties or pets.
NOTE: Please specify your desired setup for this tent by using the extras feature on this site. e.g. If you would like two additional twin beds setup inside the tent (at no extra charge), please add them to your booking! If no "extras" are selected we will assume the queen only, no bedding setup.
Both glamping sites are easy walking distance to bathhouses, with large, clean, hot shower rooms. Showers are cleaned and sanitized up to three times a day.
Your reservation includes parking for one vehicle. There is an additional $10 per night per vehicle charge for more than one vehicle, which you can pay for at the Visitor's Center upon check-in. Each site has room for 3-4 cars.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We loved glamping at John’s campsite. Location was nice and shaded. Perfect for meals at the picnic table. Tent was big, yet cozy. The camp host came by a few times to check on us too. A great campground to visit
No host, hot water, or heater
The tent was nice, however a few things happened that caused our stay to be less than perfect. No hot water at all for 2 + days! We should have been notified of this ahead since we paid extra to go “Glamping” and hot water would have been a deal breaker. No WiFi at our location, even though we paid premium rate for it. One blanket on bed, no heater. Froze all night long and woke up exhausted, even after putting on several layers of clothing. Last but not least, NO Camp Host! We under that everyone needs a day off, but aren’t you supposed to have backup hosts? Frozen because we had no heater which was one of the items available for Glamping. So freeze all night, can’t flush toilets, and no hot water, and no host! Thank God a volunteer loaned us her heater the second night, as we were going to have to pack up & leave. Had we known this we would not have booked. Cars driving by randomly all day and some of the evening. No wood in space as no camp host. Had to buy from store. Upside was that it was a beautiful location and one of the prettiest ever. I wish that I could say that it was a perfect stay. I don’t think it’s fair I paid $300+ for Glamping and ended up camping without the basics I would have normally had. I believe a partial refund should happen due to this experience.
This campsite was great. Very shady and I loved the yurt. The mattresses were comfortable and being 7 months pregnant with twins, I’m not comfortable on many mattresses. The firewood was provided as advertised. WiFi is available, but only at the visitor’s center. The showers cost $0.25 per minute, but were well kept considering this is a public park. Plenty of outhouses throughout the park as well for your midnight potty runs. Jeff and Angie were our hosts and they were extremely approachable and helpful. I definitely would book this site again and maybe even the bigger site when we have more people! Thank you for a great weekend 😊
Bring your bikes!
This was a great way to get the benefits of camping without the full hassle of it- packing and setting up camp was incredibly pleasant when almost everything was set up for you. The provided firewood is a $25 value so you should consider that with the costs. We got the main tent and even though we didn’t use the annex tent it was a nice advantage to be that much more separated from the neighboring campsite. We felt this is one of the most premium sites at Sugarloaf (and this was our 4th time there- first time glamping). Would definitely do it again. The camphosts are incredibly hospitable and nice. The bathrooms are the cleanest and best equipped of any campsite we have been to. The paved loop for biking for the kids was the main attraction. This campground is a gem and the glamping aspect just leveled it up many notches for us! Thanks to Jeff and Angela for being great hosts!
This Glamping site was great for us. We enjoyed the ease of not having to set up our own tent and the extra space this tent provided—more than enough space for the three of us. We would love to stay here again the next time we come to the area :)
Tent was smaller than we thought not sure how 8 adults can fit but we had a great time and my parents slept very comfortable with the kids.
In the nature, calm and quiet we really appreciate our journey in sugarloaf ridge camp. Tent allready set, we added one twin bed and bedding, it was really comfortable.
I would recommend that place
