We wanted a camp spot all to ourselves, but not too far off the highway. We got it here! The road to the camp spot was a challenge (steep!) But we knew it would be, so we got there well before sundown. The views are spectacular! The host has made the site cozy by adding a nice fire pit, log seating, a picnic table and bench seat, 2 Adirondack chairs and two hammocks. On a clear night the stars are bright!

We stayed for a quick night on the way home. It was super easy to get to right off the road, but still quiet and peaceful with the creek and surrounding wilderness. Appreciated the picnic table, fire ring, and seating. It was as buggy as you would expect in August. Will definitely come back next time we’re in or passing through Wallace!

The Point - Mountaintop w/VIEWS!
Very nice private location. Road to location is narrow in spots with sections of steep grade. 4x4 highly recommended.

15 minute walk to downtown Wallace and the Silver Mine tour. Great location to find quiet and be close to Wallace, especially compared to the RV place down the street that is more like a parking lot and very tight. The grassy area was fairly level, but had taller grass. The site has a large fire pit, picnic table, benches and 2 chairs. It is close to a street that is quiet at night, but has early morning traffic. The trees and hill provide shade late afternoon which helped as it was quite hot in Wallace. The only problem we faced were the bees. There were lots of them and they were on everything. Just standing outside they come and say hello. They got into every crevice of the van and checked out anything we put out on the table. Quite persistent. We are fine with insects while camping, but these little guys didn't leave us alone making it hard to enjoy a drink or food outside. Not the host's fault, and it could be the season,
but I suggest to bring a gazebo if you are planning to enjoy food outside.

The camping spot was great! We enjoyed the beautiful views almost 360. Very reasonably priced for the private and unique experience of having a mountain top to yourselves.

Lovely spot. Close to the cute old town of Wallace ID. Wildflowers and the sound of the running creek. Easy to find. Make sure to do the Pulaski trail hike and eat at the Fainting Goat. A special spot.

The Point - Mountaintop w/VIEWS!
I loved tent and hammock camping on Barbara's property. The site was absolutely perfect, the views were spectacular, and we felt like we had the mountain to our selves. My Subaru Crosstrek handled the road up with ease, but it would be difficult for a car with low clearance or w/o 4wd.
The stars were spectacular too. I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful spot.

Wow, what a gem of a camping spot. Husband and I spent one night here in an RV. There is a road across the way, but it’s super quiet at night and feels very secluded and private, even though it’s only a few minutes from the Main Street in Wallace. We enjoyed seeing so many stars after it got dark. If you’re coming to Wallace or looking for a place to spend the night as your pass through the area, I recommend this spot!

This was an awesome camp site with beautiful perches and views of the hillsides all around. We were passing through for work and decided to park at the bottom of the logging road and walk up. The walk up was only about a mile and we highly recommend the hike if you’re worried your vehicle won’t make it!! It was steep at parts but the short distance is totally doable. We met Barbara and Stu coming down the logging road on their 4-wheeler - they were awesome and super helpful and communicative. We recommend camping on their land!!! Also, Wallace is such a gem with an amazing little downtown for a bite, a beer, or a coffee before or after camping! 🌈

The Point Mountaintop W/ Views is a wonderful spot to set up camp if privacy, space, and gorgeous mountaintop views are key considerations.
During our stay at The Point, my husband and I pitched our tent at the summit site accessed by a private road. We would certainly recommend 4WD/ AWD as some portions of the road are steep, but the payoff is well worth it.
The campsite was mostly primitive, but not without some welcomed luxuries. A large fire-pit, picnic table, and even two comfortable hammocks grace this site. Our thoughtful host was even
so kind as to provide a large container of water. Thank you! However, the most impressive aspect of this Hipcamp were the fantastic, panoramic mountain views. High above the rest of the surrounding world, you are afforded a truly marvelous perspective.
If you’re looking to have a back-to-basics outdoor experience, you will certainly enjoy the unspoiled offering of this Hipcamp. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and would be happy to visit again.

The campsite is definitely more geared towards RV ers. There's really not a good spot for a tent. Wouldn't take too much to make a great spot, even with no rocks or debris. The firebird is awesome!

We traveled in a Class C RV and there was an abundance of space to choose where to park. The creek was only a few steps away and was peaceful to hear the entire time. We loved how we could explore around the site and walked into Wallace a couple times.

Amazing spot! So nice to have room for my dogs to play off-leash, without traffic going by or anyone near by that they could disturb. The tall trees surrounding the site, field of wildflowers, and flowing creek are so beautiful. The site is very level, close to town, and easy to find. Having the table, chairs, and fire pit is a nice extra. We have stayed here twice now, and will continue to do so whenever we are in Wallace.

This is my second time on Barbara’s land and we loved it again! You can hear the creek while you fall asleep and the wood nearby is plentiful for campfires! I hope to be back

We absolutely love this location and will definitely come back for a longer stay. The site is exactly as described. No surprises of any kind. We especially enjoyed seeing the healthy population of juvenile salamanders in the little pond! The little town of Wallace is very nice and refreshing. We highly recommend supporting the local businesses and checking out the museums if you have time. The restaurants are great.
Listening to the creek was one of the most relaxing elements. Very peaceful.

This was an epic spot. The directions seemed intimidating before we got there but made complete sense once we realized the route was up the road going directly up the mountain after the bridge. We got rained out (by a cool thunderstorm), but the fire pit was ready to go, the place was beautiful, cleared, and just as advertised. Would recommend.

I took this two-night solo camping trip on a whim and, wow, I wasn't disappointed! This mountain top clearing is a spectacular little piece of private paradise. The rock fire pit in the center is circled with logs to sit on along with a large cooking grate, fire tongs, and water jugs for safety. S'mores during the stunning sunsets and sleeping under the stars, heaven. There's a small folding table I used for my lantern and random items. The site is level and could easily hold several tents but it's very rocky underneath so bring a hammer for pounding stakes. If you plan on digging catholes a plastic trowel isn't going to cut it. I had a heavy folding shovel that did the trick but a camp toilet might be easier. There were definite signs of elk and deer but a curious bunny, a few squirrels, and a chipmunk were my only guests. Communication was top-notch! I so appreciated the very clear directions sent after booking. Follow these! And yes, you need an AWD or 4WD. The road up is just as she states - steep with tight switchbacks. More than anything, I want to offer up a giant shout-out to Stu, Barbara's husband, for coming to my rescue the morning of checkout when my car was dead! I called Barbara and she sent him up, jumper cables in hand, within the hour. He was so warm and helpful in a situation that could have otherwise been very distressing. Thank you both for making my getaway an adventure to remember in the very best way!

Wildflower Meadow - Creekside
While the grassy area is in full sun, the stream has shade for some/much of the day.
The property has a pond with a log across it. The kids really enjoyed it! A 48" kid did fall in, and it was pretty deep according to her.
There was also an area full of rocks, which the younger kids really enjoyed playing in.
There were some ticks in the tall grass.
The fire pit area with logs and a picnic table was very nice.
Remember to bring your own water. We brought water filters to camp but opted not to use them due to mining in the area and possible contaminants in the water.
