This is literally the side yard of an “abandoned” house on a side road.
If you are looking for seclusion, serenity and to not feel like you are the unassuming star of a horror movie - this is not the spot for you.

Clifton has a nice RV site perfect for a truck camper, van or a small trailer. The spot is outfitted with a park grill and grilling tools, a nice park bench and fireplace. Although I did not need to use it, it is nice that Clifton provides water and electricity as well. This would make his spot viable in the heat of the summer when you may want to run an air conditioner. Understandably your gray / blackwater needs to be carried out.
The field behind the parking spot is quite large so tent camping would also be possible, although there's not much shade. The edge of the parking sparkling to the field does tend to retain water after a lot of rain.

The campsite was nice and had a nice view. It was the perfect size for our small (14 ft.) teardrop camper. The driveway is steep (and gravel) but it wasn't a problem. There is a house right beside the campsite but it doesn't appear to be lived in, so the site is private and hidden by trees from the road. We really enjoyed our stay and the host was very responsive to any questions we had!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay on this property. It was easy to find and spacious, great for yoga, star-watching, bird watching and frisbee throwing.

We wish we could have stayed longer! Wonderful friendly hosts who came out and made sure we felt welcomed and had all that we needed, and shared some libations and some great conversation - this makes all the difference. The hill up was a little steep for our f150+trailer but we made it fine without 4 wheel drive. Camping site was level with all the amenities advertised. Make sure you download directions if on tmobile - very little signal in the area.

Clifton’s place is great and he’s such a cool host. If you’re in the area or just looking for some quiet (nature/animals excluded) I would definitely recommend it!

We were so glad that Clifton shared his property with us! He was very helpful when we arrived and showed us around. He was also very helpful with directions and an all-around great host. The property is lovely and we enjoyed exploring after we arrived. Pepper was the sweetest dog! Our son is still talking about her.
Do pay attention to the RV size limit. We were well within limits, but the people who were there before us were not and had some issues.

It is a wonderful place! Everyone can find something to do! The property by it self is huge! They have chicken ! It is so quiet ( no cars noise) ! You can do a hiking in the area! There’s a shooting range , golf course, Barnsley resort near by! You can find horse riding! We would really recommend this place! Besides it can be used when you traveling between the states because it is not that far from the interstate 75 !

Impossible to find without calling for specific instructions as none are given at time of reservation. Host was immediately responsive. Did have to leave area to get cell signal.
Site was just fine, although barking/ fighting dogs kept waking us up throughout the night. This would be the only reason we would not come back.

Honestly I really liked where we stayed and will probably stay there again. That being said it was not as advertised, there was no cast iron to cook with, no firewood, and relatively close to other houses. Honestly that’s fine to me, but I just wish it was advertised differently and I would have brought cookware and fire wood.

We stayed for just one night in our 13ft fiberglass camper. The space was nice and level and had a fire pit, picnic table, coal grill and both water and electrical hookups. We had a nice conversation with the host, Clifford.
We will definitely try to camp here again while traveling through the area.

This was our first HipCamp experience, but certainly not our last one. We had a relaxing, great time.
We found the site easily, and as advertised the driveway is a bit steep. Approach from the north, for a better angle at it. We were able to turn our 25 ft travel trailer around, but a bigger rig might have trouble. Water hose and electric cord were waiting and worked fine.
We arrived on Thanksgiving Day and cooked a full holiday meal.
Clif and Jennifer are very nice and accommodating hosts. They came by to make sure we had everything we needed and took us on a tour to meet the animals: their 2 dogs, a pig and a colorful flock of chickens.
Hillside Homestead is very quiet and peaceful, off the beaten path.
A highlight of our stay was a dinner of quail, cooked by Clif over their campfire. The quail was accompanied by their home brewed mead, whiskey and interesting conversation under the stars. Everything was delicious and satisfying.
We would like to come back in the spring or early summer and go foraging for food on a wild food plant walk with them.

The site was up a somewhat steep driveway, but nothing unmanageable in our 21’ shuttle bus conversion. Sadly, we were only there overnight so didn’t get to take in more of the surrounding land. Clifton was an awesome personable host, who I wish we had more time to chat with. Turns out we both lived in the same town at different points of our lives. “It’s a small world after all”.

Beautiful meadow with an amazing abundance of wildflowers.
The neighbors were loud but you can’t fault the hosts for that. Hosts were beyond gracious and even helped us carry some wood to our site. They were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I would definitely recommend this site - we could not have done without the picnic table, so nice addition, Cliff and Jen. Animals in abundance, a definite farm-style abode.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Clifton's campsite! We loved staying here. It was private, quiet, and far-exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a country getaway with your smaller rig or tent, I highly recommend this site.
The property is rustic in a very good way, and it felt like REAL camping. Power and water were on site, and we had a decent AT&T signal here as well. Clifton and his wife took the time to show us around and introduce us to all their great farm animals. We even got to hold some of their adorable baby ducks! Clifton was very communicative and quick to answer the few questions we had.
5 stars. 20/10, would stay again and highly recommend!

We are noivce campers, and planned this trip with just 3 days notice. We were feeling bummed out that we couldn't find a spot at a park, but this way better then any park. We were far enough off the road, in a perfect grassy meadow with enough room to pitch 2 tents. This spot is also secueled so my group had a great time with no other campers around. This spot is also pet friendly, and they would also have a great time in this spot. With little light pollution we sat and star gazed for several hours. While we didnt have time to hike there are spots near to go. This is a really great spot and great hosts will hopefully use this spot agian.

Private no frills site. Seems to be a lot of history in the area. I arrived after dark and left before sunrise so I didn't have a chance to enjoy the spot. Clifton was responsive when I booked.

Great hipcamp experience for our family. The covered setup spot was super nice to stay out of the heat. The plant tour was super interesting and we learned a bunch from Clif and Jennifer; two of the nicest people you can hope to meet. Very generous with their time and knowledge. We would come back again.
