Amazing!

My boyfriend and I had an unbelievable trip to the Tedaverse: Sundial Ridge! We got in later than we hoped but Ted was there waiting to show us in and help us bring our gear to the site. Our spot at Sundial Ridge was just right for our two person getaway. It was secluded from the rest of the sites and the ridge we were on was breathtaking. Ted supplied us with an awesome map of his 100 acres and we enjoyed a beautiful hike in the mornings. We passed each site in the Tedaverse and every single one looked like a great spot to camp. We are already planning our next trip back! This place is a true gem, I would definitely recommend visiting. Thank you Ted!! :)

Lenny Escapes The City

Our dog, Lenny, informed us he needed an escape from the city. So, we headed out to The Tedaverse, and it was the best decision we could have made! Lenny gave us a 5-star review when the weekend was over! We stayed in The Sunrise Cabin, and it was extremely cozy and comfortable; the bed was fantastic! We particularly enjoyed the chiminea on the deck and the view from the cabin. It was close enough to the house/parking area to make loading/unloading very easy but far enough to feel secluded. Ted and Sarah were wonderful hosts and provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. On Saturday night, Ted lit a massive bonfire for all of the guests, which was a great way to get to know everyone! I highly recommend this property if you are looking for some quiet time in the woods with great views, good people and a dog-friendly environment (dogs are allowed off-leash here, which is not always easy to find). We will definitely be returning!

Prime Fall Camping!

Speckled Sunset

We had a great time camping with Theodore. Theodore greeted us on Friday night and helped us lug our stuff out to the site. The site was gorgeous. We actually camped at Martha instead of Speckled Sunset, as no one was booked for either and Martha was closer. However, I'd definitely camp at either and would choose Speckled if you want more privacy and a larger site. We had a toddler with us, so getting back and forth to the cars was important. We appreciated the platform and set our tents up there the first night. (We discovered tenting on the ground I recommend getting platform stakes to make your set up go well. The wood left for the fire was great and Theodore even lit it for us the first night! We utilized the picnic table and cooked some amazing campfire meals. The bathroom facilities were clean and well set up. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and won't hesitate to come back!

Beautiful property and campsite! The best Hipcamp I have stayed at! We’re planning to come back next year. Ted is possibly the most helpful and welcoming host I have had in any sort of lodging situation. He went way above and beyond to be helpful!

We had an amazing time. Ted was a great host and we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The area is nice and secluded but close to small shops and cafes. I would highly recommend you book! Also big plus are dogs are allowed off leash! 10/10

Camping at Speckled Sunset was an absolute dream. Such a magnificent ridgeline, totally quiet except for the forest, and Ted was a really kind host. Would love to come back.

The gorgeous views through the trees of the valley from the cabin were stellar. The cabin is immaculate and beautiful. Feels completely new. Cold water is gratefully provided in a cooler. The attached portable potty works great. You need to bring everything you would camping, except the tent and linens. Bring a stove and deadwood is all around for a fire pit. Yes went above and beyond by delivering more water late on a Sat night which was most appreciated. He helps with ATV to bring your luggage to the cabin, a 10 minute walk along a ridge. Wonderful stay!

The property is so beautiful, and it was nice to be in a secluded cabin while also knowing I wasn’t totally alone. I had everything I needed in the cabin, and everything was exactly as described in the listing. Highly recommend for someone else.

Epic spot

Prettiest part of Connecticut on some of the prettiest land I've seen. Ted was great. We booked the cabin less than 24hrs in advance and still had everything needed. Very clean. Highly recommend

We booked Martha for two nights during the Perseid Meteor shower and it was absolutely magical. The views were incredible and the site was perfect for cooking and relaxing by the fire. Ted helped us with our gear and had tons of helpful tips for adventuring and finding food. We loved it here. This place is pretty special.

Room with a View

We loved our stay at Sunrise Studio and would highly recommend it! Theodore and Sarah are exceptionally accommodating and make you feel at-home amongst their 100 acres. The studio had amazing views. We loved opening the doors in the morning to take-in the sun + breeze. Truly a special place nestled above quaint, Connecticut towns that have so much to offer - delicious food, coffee and more. Would absolutely visit again!

Peaceful Getaway

Hubby and I loved the beautiful location, stunning vistas, the sounds and sights of nature, and the wonderful hospitality of our host Ted and his really cute dog too. Definately a little slice of Heaven on this beautiful property. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to detach from today's crazy world , even just for a day. We'll be back.

Happy Place!

I absolutely adored the Sunset cabin. It was the perfect mix of peace and tranquillity. Ted greeted us even in the pour rain as my dog and I showed up. He showed me around the property and even got us water for the cabin. Listening to the rain fall that night and then wake up to the sun coming up right outside my door was just what I needed. The property offered so much to do and the town was close by too, for great food.

It was super nice to have the extra hammocks on site and gathering around the fire pit was exceptional. We will absolutely keep this property in mind for a future excursion!

Lovely wilderness and great host!

My wife and I rented the Writer's Tower while some of our friends rented a campsite on Ted's property, because we were hoping to bring our adorable adventure cat Winslow with us-and Ted said yes! Being able to bring him and have him hang out with us in his harness made our weekend. The space is lovely and the bed is so comfy, and there is a clean outdoor shower and potty. Ted and his wife Sarah (and their whole extended family-we met Martha's namesake!) make staying with them lovely; they are kind, interesting (we talked travel!), friendly, and work hard to make you comfortable. The grounds are beautiful-like a reserve!-with nice hiking, and Salisbury is a cute town to explore. AJ and I appreciated Ted so much, as another camper behaved inappropriately and the way he handled the situation was wonderful and beyond expectation. We would definitely return to his lovely little parcel in the woods! Thank you for being such a nice guy, Ted!

Absolutely fantastic stay! Ted was an incredible host and instantly made us feel welcome. The place itself is insanely peaceful and beautiful. Even though we only stayed one night, we're planning on coming back again in the future if we ever need a peaceful retreat in the woods.

Well-maintained, gorgeous property

We spent a long weekend camping with another family at the Martha campsite. Everyone had a great time. The kids loved exploring the large property. There are plenty of well-groomed trails on the property. We also drove about a half hour to Kent Falls State Park to see the falls and picnic, and to Lake Waramaug State Park for a swim in the lake. The site included a round picnic table with moveable benches to seat 8 plus a couple extra chairs and two hammocks by the fire pit. There was a large tent platform at our site, as well as some cleared space for tents on the ground. We had plenty of room to spread out. The site is a short walk down a trail behind the owner’s house. By the house, there is an outdoor shower, detached garage/ cabin with potable water, a small camp store with a drink fridge, a seating area with a fire pit and amazing view, a screened-in picnic table, and the cleanest port-o-potty I have ever seen. I would definitely recommend staying at this property. Sarah and Ted were gracious hosts. They were very friendly, helped haul some of our gear up to our site, and checked on us several times during our stay. If I could add one thing to make this camp even better, it would be bags of ice at the camp store. We did find ice easily, just three miles away at the gas station.

What an incredible piece of land, with great views and a beautiful cabin. We stayed at the cabin for several days and we felt at peace and enjoyed nature while reading on hammock and bbq. The cabin is very clean and cozy and the screened in porch was a bonus since mosquitoes came out later at night. They also have an outdoor shower which we highly recommend to use. This place is magical and we are curious how it looks like in winter. We recommend this place to all!

There is much to do around Lakeville, but the views from Writer’s Tower, comfortable bed, endless books to pore over, and walks around the Tedaverse kept me grounded and content. The outdoor shower and fire pit top the list - this will be an often returned to spot for sure.

Melissa - I really love the environment and how private every campsite is , Theodore was so friendly and made the environment so peaceful , I felt like I could go to him for anything , I love love love the outside shower. Yolanda- my experience was amazing. Theodore was very helpful, kind and friendly. I met his wife and kids, they’re a beautiful family. They invited us to the fire pit. We did hiking, played basketball and hula hooped. We went to Lake Mansfield near by were we took our dogs for a swim. We build a fire pit next to our tent. We cook our vegetarian food next to our platform on the grill that he provided. Is so peaceful and private each campsite ( platform). The out door shower experience is amazing. I could go on and on about how amazing and peaceful our experience was . I being doing camping for more than ten years and this was my first time in Theodore lands and I will highly recommend them . My favorite campsite so far . I will definitely go back again. Thanks Theodore and family.
