Close enough to Joshua Tree, but with the advantage of tall, mature trees to provide plentiful shade and cooler temperatures. Water available at our camp site and full bathroom with hot water shower near by.
We didn’t mind at all being the only ones there.
This is a huge property with tons of potential.
Neither one of us found the pond appealing for swimming, but everyone has different comfort levels.

Great space. Funky with lots of character. Would definitely stay again. Quintessential dessert property with broken down vehicles and never to be completed projects from decades gone by. An oasis with ponds and palms

Little tough to find in the dark but that’s the price you pay for having such a private campsite. Site 4 was great and was situated with some trees surrounding an area for your tent and your car which was nice. Didn’t have cell signal with T-Mobile even though I thought I would based on the coverage map, so just a heads up there.

Such a cool spot tucked back in the canyon! Samuel is really lovely, I hope to come back and hear some of his stories around the campfire. Thank you, Samuel!
My partner and I had a wonderful time at Auntie Berts Farm. The land is beautiful. The hosts are friendly and generous. The location is a quick drive to Joshua Tree NP and just outside Yucca Valley if you need provisions. We brought our teardrop and were able to tuck away in a little grove of trees for shade and privacy. I only wish we could have stayed one more night.
This place is truly a gem. Sam and his father Rob are ultra hospitable. It was quiet, clean, and easy to access. The bathroom was a huge plus - super clean and modern. Relatively close to Joshua Tree where we drove for a day - only took 30-40 minutes. Awesome places to hike and walk around and the ponds were beautiful! Will definitely be back.

Beautiful campground just a few minutes off the main road yet far enough from all the light pollution where you can enjoy the stars. Make sure to contact the owner prior to arrival as reception can be spotty and navigating to your camp site can be a bit confusing. Samuel was really friendly & chill - left us alone for the most part but was available if we needed anything. Visited during a slower season so we had the campground mostly to ourselves. Loved swimming in the fresh water ponds and watching shooting stars from the treehouse. The amenities like the communal sink, fire pits, bathrooms, and showers are well kept which made a for a convenient, comfortable stay. Highly recommend this site and will definitely book again!

Super unique place!!! We were visiting Joshua Tree National Park and this was our place to come back to...it was great! Another Hipcamp success in the books!
Amazing spot, I recommend to everybody who’s trying to have unforgettable times.
Absolutely incredible oasis and camping spot a few minutes from town.
Samuel couldn’t have been a more helpful and great host. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and there were so many neat things to walk around and see.
I will be coming back here pretty often
Hidden canyon filled with flora and fauna. More than a dozen deer live on the property, and all the other critters that go with them. Nature's casual abundance emanates in this big, hidden oasis.
More of an event venue than a simple campground, but was a great getaway.
Campgsites are spread out so no one would be right next to you.
Bath facility adequate. Way better than a pit toilet! No potable water but plenty to wash up.
Overall: I'm not sure if I'd book again, definitely not site 2 unless they create some sort of privacy barrier between the hosts permanent site and site 2. This would be a great spot if you booked out all of the sites for a large group of people because there is so much space to do things and they seem to be welcoming of parties, raves and concerts. The campsites are close enough that it's nice if you're a group sharing multiple sites but not all that great if you are looking for a bit more of a secluded setting.
I'll start with the bad:
I'm not sure if this is a Hipcamp issue or the host's issue but the site map was misleading. I had booked site 2 because it seemed pretty secluded and towards the back of the property. This was not the case. Our camp site was directly facing the host's permanent campground. Which was full of people and lots of cars coming and going, many accidentally driving on to our site. Someone from that site saw us walking towards our site and shouted "Who the f**k are you?!" as we got to OUR tents... It felt exposed, loud, and much like the cramped crowded campgrounds I was trying to avoid.
Secondly, there are open, uncovered trash cans everywhere. Which seemed nice at the time but also slightly questionable as any avid camper should know never to leave anything out that could attract animals. Unfortunately, the loud camp site (which I believe was the host's site we were directly facing) had left out cakes and cookies out overnight. This resulted in their trash cans being knocked over and their forgotten treats were consumed by some animal. We heard someone from the host's site claiming was a bear. Regardless if it was a coyote, mountain lion or even god forbid, a desert bear... Going to a campsite that blatantly disregards general camp safety is a bit questionable...
But not all was bad.
The good: The hosts (or at least I think were the hosts) were extremely friendly and welcoming. The campground was fairly quiet after 10pm. This place had lots of little areas that were fun to walk to and hang out at like the rope swing overlooking their swimming swamp and the tree house that is about 15 feet off the ground. Having the freedom and openess to roam was really nice (just can't understand why our site was so close to others when there are far better areas to camp). The bathroom situation wasn't too bad, there are porta potties throughout and their main bathroom was a fully functional and clean bathroom with all the comforts of home. Definitely the best bathroom while camping for sure. The location was also ideal. It was easy to get to and find. We were about 20 minutes away from Joshua Tree and about 45 mins away from downtown Palm Springs and there were near a few markets and liquor stores along the way from the property.
We arrived late in the evening, but we were met right away so that we do not get lost there. The warm shower in the morning was a very pleasant gift!

Auntie Berts Farm
We loved it here!
The tent sites are spacious and pretty private, the ground are lovely for exploring... and the swimming hole was awesome. We can't wait to go back!
Great campsite for friends and/or family. Spacious, safe and fun, and kids can run around.
we had a great overnighter here. dave met us at the gate and showed us around. we chatted a bit, getting to know the garden. he’s super chill and welcoming. the vibe we would expect from a host in an oasis near joshua tree. :) the bath house is very clean with hot water. bonus! once dave left for the evening, it felt like we were the only humans on the ranch. we met families of deer as we walked around through the other campsites and ponds. there’s a lot of cool art installations in this festival-designed environment the deeper you go into the property. cool old bus, treehouse platform, chill spots, gathering spots, etc... there’s a vibration in the ground here, like you know some good energy has been made and left on these premises. i totally recommend staying here. it’s close to pioneertown and the park blvd entrance to JTNP. we’ll be back.
This place was awesome. Oasis amongst the desert. Watering hole to cool off. Full bath and shower. Bert is a super cool dude, they proceeded propane BBQ, he gave me some veggies from the garden. I had a cool camp spot in the shade. Very peaceful place. I saw deer and a bobcat on the property. $20/night is totally worth it. Bert and his fam are great hosts and fun to talk to.

Sam was so kind! We somehow forgot our camping poles, and he generously offered an old one for us to use! The property is also great and has a beautiful garden with great bathroom facilities. Would stay here again! :)
Everyone at Auntie Berts was kind and helpful! We had an amazing weekend swimming in the pond and enjoying the wildlife! We saw large horn sheep, quails, deer, frogs, and many cute lizards!
We felt spoiled having a flushing toilet, shower, and communal cooking areas. This property is HUGE and there is so much to explore and enjoy!
This is a perfect camping spot for someone who likes something in between glamping and digging your own latrine. The location is easy to access, yet feels secluded. It's close to Pioneertown which makes restocking food and ice very easy.
We will absolutely be returning!

I loved everything there was to love about that stay. Dave who showed us around was a lovely human being. The farm is enormous - I believe there were two camping teams while we were there and we had absolute privacy. The restrooms are spotless and have a shower! We had an entire outdoor kitchen to use. Everything is within walking distance (bathroom 4min, lake 5min) yet you're immersed in nature. Oh, and shade! There is shade - and it helped a lot during July's weather. The goats are the cutest, too. And so many different birds to listen to. Paradise. Please, change nothing! I wanna be back soon...! :)
Had an amazing stay! Between the ponds, goats, beautiful scenery, and the beautiful bathrooms with showers to keep clean and cool with me and my group had a great time here. Samuel was awesome and accommodating without being overbearing (:

Great spot with friendly hosts.
This place is so cool! Site was sand base and soft for tent. Oasis was clear and cold- host gave a walk around property. The trees at the bottom of the property made it feel like I wasn’t in the desert. Water was close to site. Site had privacy as well.
We had a great time staying at Auntie Bert's Farm! We spent a fun weekend relaxing in the shade, swimming, petting the goats, and meeting the wonderfull hosts!
An amazing hidden gem that has easy access and plenty of amazing spots on the property to keep you busy all day. It was nice and shady and swimming the lake after paddle boating was amazing. You can hike all day. The campsite was large and also nicely shaded and they provided propane and firewood for us. The host Robert was very welcoming, informative, and an overall cool guy. Definitely want to come back with a group and rent out the entire spot !
Tranquil unfiltered California (and a nice shower)

Found this place quite last minute as an alternate to staying in Joshua Tree, and it turned out amazing! We were in the area to see Desert X and this site was a convenient 30 min or less drive to most of the exhibits we went to see. We loved how the campsites were secluded in cozy nooks in the large shrubs so you don’t see everyone else right outside your tent. The hosts were friendly and super chill. The pond was also such a lovely and quiet place to sit and relax for a bit in the late afternoon. And the flush toilet and hot shower room made the camping experience very luxurious. Would definitely recommend!
