Willow Lane Farm is a Heritage Breed Poultry farm that runs a small rescue/sanctuary for livestock. The Main farm is situated on 60 acres which backs onto crown land. There's open fields, forest, wetlands and paddocks full of all sorts of animals. Towards the back, there's several small ponds and a river that runs through the property. Located in the north east corner of Sudbury, in the town of Hanmer, Ontario. Sudbury is known as the Blueberry Capitol. The small mining town has grown into a good sized city which is situated in a crater. It's prime location is a haven for geologists, blueberry pickers, snowmobilers, and fishermen. With over 50 lakes close by, and lots of ATV/sled trails, it's a great recreational place with lots to do or sit back and enjoy the peaceful scenery. Animals are welcomed. And Paddock space is available for Horses, riders and eventers looking for a place to stop over, rest or excersize their livestock. Learn more about this land: Welcome to our family-friendly farm! We are open year-round and are located in Hanmer, Ontario in the Greater Sudbury area. While staying with us, we encourage you to take a farm tour, try the petting zoo or enjoy the scenery. With over 60 acres of farmland, our private and secluded campsites are level and are ideal for any type of camping, from tents to large RVs and everything in between, we can accommodate anyone looking to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. The property offers flat farm fields that back onto wooded areas with a river, pond, and nearby hiking trails! A firepit is provided (Firewood available to purchase) and if you are planning on cooking we have pots and pans upon request. If you need water please feel free to fill up at the house. We also have an outhouse on site. 30 lakes are within a half-hour drive, great for fishing! Sudbury is in a crater, so there are lots of interesting rocks to see if geology interests you. We also have many trail plans for ATV and snow machines (permits required). Seasonal blueberry picking is also available on-site. We are only 10 minutes away from the Train Museum, a must-see while in the area! Pets are always welcome, as are riders and their mounts. We look forward to hosting you!

Welcome to our family-friendly farm! We are open year-round and are located in Hanmer, Ontario in the Greater Sudbury area. While staying with us, we encourage you to take a farm tour, try the petting zoo or take a pony ride. With over 60 acres of farmland, our private and secluded campsites are level and are ideal for any type of camping, from tents to large RVs and everything in between, we can accommodate anyone looking to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. Site 3 is situated towards the back of the property by the Pond and River. Tall grass surounds the site for privacy. Although sunny, a cool breeze can be expected. Portable toilet hidden in the grass for privacy. Firepit and Water are provided.

Our stay at Site 1 on Matt's property was exactly what we were looking for. A peaceful and private site with everything we needed. My pup and I enjoyed a quiet night watching the gorgeous sunset before turning in. Unfortunately due to some poor communication on my part and odd arrival/departure time, I did not get to meet Matt. But we would absolutely stay again for longer next time we're in the area.

Always a great time when we visit Matt she even let me try out driving her tractor during this visit it was a lot of fun! Definitely recommend a visit to anyone who doesn't mind roughing it a little.

I truly had such an amazing time here and can’t wait to come back! I came home and have told everyone in length about the most knowledgeable farm tour I have ever been on (although I don’t have many farm tours to compare it to). Either way, I learned so much about chickens and turkeys and birds of all kinds! As a young woman travelling alone, I felt safe and comfortable here, would 100% recommend.

Matt was very welcoming. I visited the horse, the sheep, the chickens, the geese. While I was there some neighbours were also there. There was a sense of kindness and community that I walked in on and I felt immediately welcome. Matt has several projects on the go and I was allowed to help.

The property is amazing. Matt is an great hostess who goes above and beyond for the campers here i highly recommend staying here if you're willing to rough it a little bit. I know we will be booking to stay with her again real soon

Our stay was so great we already booked to stay again. Matt is an amazing hostess she does her utmost for her guests in order to make them as happy and comfortable as possible. She gave us a lovely tour of her animals all very sweet. She even was kind enough to give us some of her fresh eggs. We look forward to spending time at her farm and camp sites again. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had such a great time! We foraged for wild blueberries with the grandkids and enjoyed a great tour of the farm with Farmer Matt who gave the kids horseback rides. A very memorable stay!

I would only recommend booking if you don't plan on leaving your campsite for your entire stay. It stormed, and our entire campsite flooded, including our tent and firepit, so we had a lot of work and running around to do and things to replace. We received a text saying how she was frustrated with us going in and out and how "Normally" when camping you are supposed to stay at the site. Then we were on our way in and stopped to ask about where the garbage goes. We were told that she was going to come to our site or we could take it to the curb. We clearly stated that we didn't want to put the garbage in our car if we didn't have to and went back to our site and waited but she never came. We had convinced ourselves we misunderstood the days and packed the garbage all together by the provided bin. A night or 2 later there was a bear in our campsite at night taking the garbage and our food. We messaged the lady and she said that he must have smelt something he liked (obviously). Knowing that it's common for bears to pass through I don't understand why she doesn't have a spot for garbage or warn campers to pack out. But with packing out arises the issue of her not wanting campers to come and go. Overall it was an uncomfortable stay not to even mention both the man and woman there had brought up financial issues on the farm.

Short but sweet

My partner and I drove up from Toronto to visit my family in Sudbury. We stayed on Matt's farm for the evening so we could relax under the stars and have a bonfire. Matt gave us a wonderful tour of the farm and alot of information about all the rescued and some new born animals. I have only good things to say about our stay and would go back again in the future!

What a great place to camp! So private and everything we needed. Matt was super friendly and helpful. We didn't get to see the elk but the whippoorwill sang to us. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you, Matt!

We had such a memorable time on our camping trip! Staying in a tent under the stars was a peaceful escape from the usual routine. The highlight of our evening was watching a stunning sunset—it was absolutely breathtaking and made the whole experience feel magical. Our host, Matt, was incredibly welcoming and friendly. She gave us a lovely tour of her farm, which added a unique and personal touch to the trip. It was great to see the animals and learn about the place—we really appreciated her hospitality. If you're looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature and genuine warmth, this is the perfect spot. Would definitely recommend and love to return someday!

My husband and I stayed at farmer Matt's property for 8 days and it is hands down our favorite camping spot to date!! Farmer Matt was so wonderful and helpful! She always had our campsite stocked with firewood and it was so nice having access to potable water anytime! Her property is beautiful and huge!! The campsites where spread out and felt very private. The campsite was nicely laid out and had a really nice fire pit, bench and a nice, clean outhouse! We plan to make Matt's farm our new go to spot in the area for camping and could not recommend it enough!!
