A little piece of Paradis

'Paradis' is a perfect name for the place and the hosts. This was our second stay at Réal and Johanne's beautiful place and the third stay is already booked. They are the consummate hosts who make you feel welcome and ensure you have everything needed to fully enjoy and engage in their lovely spot and in the area. Being there in the Fall with the river running fast and the leaves changing only added to the beauty of their place. We can't recommend Réal and Johanne and their lovely piece of Paradis highly enough and would encourage anyone looking for a unique and tranquil experience to put it at the top of their list!

Slice of heaven on the Chateaugay

We loved our stay with Real and Johanne! They made us feel like we were guests at their home, like we were vacationing with friends. They were immensely helpful and gave us so much advice on the area, as well as camping tips. They even were okay with our small dog wandering around the property. We kayaked right from the place and explored the country on our bikes. The place is only an hour from Montreal, and closer to some other towns worth exploring and sampling the local fare, like Valleyfield. We couldn’t have asked for more gracious hosts or a more beautiful spot on a river in southern Quebec. We surely will return here.

Our second stay at Paradis d’artist

This was our second time at Paradis d’artistes. The site is really a paradise and has everything you could ever need. Réal and Johanne are delightful and so helpful! They love their place and they love sharing it with us. We can’t recommend this site enough and would add a star if we could. We stayed at Riverside #1 near the small beach. Swimming, kayaking or just sitting listening to the sound of the river, heaven on earth! Thank you Real and Johanne for a wonderful stay.

We can’t believe that this was our 5th time staying here. Everyone in the family has different reasons we LOVE this place so much. From the incredible host that make you feel like family to the space that’s so clean, well taken care of and truly a slice of heaven and let’s not forget the wonderful local things you can see. The fresh fruit and vegetables, organic beef, incredible ciders and not to forget the wonderful bakeries. Don’t wait another moment I would book your trip now and trust me you will enjoy every minute of your stay.

I thought it was sweet that it was called Paradise, but after staying I realize they are 100% serious. They were so attentive. The place was so clean and well organized. There are so many besitiful places to perch yourself. Kid friendly swimming and really fun river swimming for strong swimmers. We have a newborn and a 7 year old and it was ideal to camp with them! I honestly cannot wait to return. Thank you!

Very Special Place!

Where do I start??? Real and Johanne are the most lovely and attentive hosts!!! Their property is immaculate and has every comfort available. The campsites are right on the river with a lovely little beach for swimming. There is a huge fire pit with grate for grilling; after dinner sit back and enjoy a cocktail. Johanne was kind enough to give me a tour of her vegetable garden and even picked a few things for us to enjoy during our stay. They made us feel like family…we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Nous avons adoré notre week-end au Paradis d’Artistes! Nous étions 4 + mon chien et avons été reçus comme des rois. Ma petite Daisy était la bienvenue aussi, car Réal et Johanne adorent les chiens🫶🏻 Le site est super propre, tous les terrains ont un attrait particulier différent, il y a une petite plage avec sable doux et une rivière avec eau super claire! La toilette propre comporte un lavabo, et il y a aussi un lavabo extérieur avec eau potable dans lequel tu peux faire ta vaisselle. Au Paradis d’Artistes, c’est du camping de luxe!! Pour ce qui est de Réal et Johanne, les hosts, nous n’aurions pas pu espérer mieux. Ces gens sont d’une telle hospitalité!!❤️ Ils nous ont aidé à monter notre tente, nous ont aidé avec des problèmes que nous avons eu durant le week-end avec nos équipements, nous ont prêté du ketchup pour déjeuner🤪… Ce sont des perles à l’écoute de nos besoins, ils sont de bons conseils et sont accueillants à un autre niveau. L’expérience a été 10x meilleure avec eux🫶🏻 Le Paradis d’Artistes est l’endroit parfait pour se détendre en s’endormant au son de l’eau de la rivière, en se sentant en sécurité et encadré, en lisant un bon livre sur la petite plage ou dans les hamacs, en jasant tous ensemble autours du feu… C’est une expérience de camping unique, mais pas unique dans le temps, car nous y retournerons certainement l’été prochain🙌🏻 Merci Réal et Johanne!❤️

Camping at its best!

I really enjoyed my camping! Réal and Johanne are the best hosts you can have. Not only were they friendly and generous, they also helped all visitors to feel like you were part of the group. We had two nights of campfire fun. The view is fantastic and the campsite is well kept and beautiful. I would recommend this place for all campers who are looking for the best.

Réal and Johanne’s property is litterally a little piece of paradise. They received us with a smile and instructions, the land is immaculate and beautiful. Everything is thought through. We stayed on the riverfront land and. You could see, smell and hear the water. Absolutely beautiful. Merci, on sera de retour!

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour au Paradis d’artistes! L’endroit est superbe! Nous avons pu profiter de leur petite plage, chute et de la rivière calme et ressourçante. Nous avons adoré notre séjour! Réal et Johanne sont accueillants, généreux de leur temps, sympathique et ils sont passionnés de leur espace et cherchent à ce que tout soit parfait constamment. J’y retournerais sans aucun doute!!!

Happy chill days on the St Laurence

The campsite was very good , only good things to say about it, the facilities were very clean. The view is beautiful and the river is very nice to swim in. The water was a perfect temperature and not too much current. The river provides a soothing background noise which really helped us all get a great night's sleep. Réal and Johanne are very nice and helped us with any problems that we had and gave us a very warm welcome. The communal area is a lovely place to have a camp fire and meet some of the other campers. Very chilled and with so few spots on the site I can't see this place being anything except idyllic. Overall it’s is a 5 star campsite and if you are in the area I would say that it’s better then any big campsite next to it . This review was put together by the kids, aged 14 and 16. We've been in campsites for 2 weeks in North America and this one is their favourite.

Real and Johanne are the best host you can hope for. They are generous and spend time to ensure you are comfortable throughout the stay. The place is beautifully setup and equipped with quality items of their own craft. The spot next to the river is a real gem with a perfect depth for a swim. And the waterfall noise helps sleeping at night. Showers are missing but this is one of the project to come. Highly recommended for a peaceful and rejuvenating camping trip.

We have camped with our small Airstream all over the USA. Never have we had a more magical site than this spot. We could stay just one night as our real reason for coming to this area from Minnesota was to get into central Montreal. But we loved everything about this spot and adored the hosts! The little touches were amazing. And the natural beauty was second to none! This was a 10/10.

The perfect family weekend

What a wonderful and special place to stay! The land is super well-maintained and there are great amenities - including a spotless port-a-potty, a place to clean dishes, kayaks, a fire pit, drinking water, and a ton of seating (picnic tables, benches, swings, hammocks etc). The hosts are fantastic and very attentive. You can tell they love their property and genuinely enjoy sharing it with people - which makes it a ton of fun. They were great about our dog and small baby. Would absolutely recommend this stay and we will back (hopefully very soon)!!

Gorgeous site to go to

This was our first Hipcamp experience at Paradis de l'artiste. Réal and Joanne greeted us like family. They took the time to show us around so we could feel at home. They are extremely friendly, courteous and organized. They gave us a pamphlet containing great information about the site and surrounding areas, which we took the time to visit a few. The view from our lot #2 (or any lot) actually is absolutely beautiful! If you are looking for a place to relax near the sound of waterfalls or nature's beauty this is the place to go. The land is well maintained with lots of flowers, it is gorgeous! A MUST see! The waterfalls and swimming against the current was a hit with my kids. We had brought our tubes and kayaks which were great assets for that place. We are going back next year! They have great plans to upgrade the place with much more to enjoy in the coming year. Thank you for the wonderful experience Réal and Johanne, will see you again!

We want to thank Réal and Johanne for their loveliest hospitality during our weekend getaway. My daughter really enjoyed playing in the water and we really love just how calm and beautiful their place is. The sound of the waterfall at night right by the campfire was just amazing and so calming specially when you come from a busy city.
